The views and grounds at this property are breathtaking and pictures do not do it justice.

The house worked very well for our group of 10. The views and grounds were stunning and very relaxing! We enjoyed every moment of our stay! We would definitely stay again. Thank you for making lasting memories for our group in Scotland!

Beautiful house - highly recommend

Had a fantastic time beautiful house and area. Short walk to a lovely pub, farm shop and others. Shona was very responsive. Would highly reccomend.

Magical Christmas

Words will never be enough to capture the experience. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, complimentary homemade Yule Log and sweet mince pies . Immaculate house, we wanted for absolutely nothing . It was like falling into a Christmas card. Total and utter bliss x

Fabulous stay at Beautiful Balgedie

We were a mix of American and English family, consisting of 9 adults and 3 teens. Everybody loved the location and comfort at Balgedie House, the views were fantastic and the property was extremely homely and well equipped. The beds were good quality, showers and baths hot and plentiful, kitchen well stocked, and the boot room was super useful. We visited and thoroughly enjoyed Loch Leven Larder and the Balgedie Toll Tavern - highly recommended. And we also had the Caterer cook for us at the house - absolutely sensational food. Teens and adults alike enjoyed the zip wire and trampoline. Shona was friendly and helpful and we would all love to return one day.

Family week in Balgedie

The property is beautifully and very comfortably decorated. Incredibly well laid out and well stocked with everything you could need for a large family gathering of several generations. The view over the loch is stunning. We had beautiful walks around the loch and also in the hills behind. The local Balgedie Taven was very welcoming and we had a lovely meal there one evening. Highly recommend and we will definitely stay again

Hogmanay at Balgedie

This is a truly fabulous property. We had a superb time in the week we had there. The views are stunning, in particular, the "Loo with the View"! All the bedrooms are extremely comfortable and the entire house is equipped with everything you could hope for. The kitchen and dining area are bright and spacious and all the rooms beautifully furnished. The garden is fabulous and in the summertime provides and wonderful area outside in an enclosed garden within a garden! Zip wire and trampoline provided enhanced fun for the younger ones. The area is ideal with walks around the loch, steep hills behind the house and country walks onto moorland only a short drive away. Kinross for all your shopping is a very short drive away. In short, this is a magnificent house in a beautiful part of my homeland. I wholeheartedly commend it to you all.

Incredible visit!

We just returned from the most magical stay at Belgadie House. Shona was an incredible host - very responsive and helpful with all of our inquiries. The house could not have been more perfect for our large group of 7 adults and 7 kids. It is spacious, immaculately decorated, yet comfortable and cozy, down to fresh flowers throughout the house. We cannot wait to return to this beautiful house and community again.

Beautiful House

We rented the house for a family Thanksgiving celebration and loved it - I wish we could have stayed longer. The house is located in a beautiful setting with views of the loch from most rooms. We went on walks around the loch, popped in to the local pub (and heard about its interesting history from the barmaid), but also just loved sitting around the fire and enjoying the house. Big rooms, nice decoration, lovely touches, down to the luxurious towels and carpeting. The kitchen dining room was perfect for preparing and eating our Turkey roast, and in my next life I want a bathroom like the one off the master bedroom with a claw-foot tub and a big window! I enjoyed the winter setting (it snowed while we were there - I could watch different weather roll in from over the loch all day) but I bet it is spectacular in the greener months. There is a beautiful garden with big table and a grill. One day we will go back!

Wonderful house to stay in

Immaculately maintained country house in a beautiful setting with clear views out across Loch Leven. Everything just as you would want it - quality, care and style - all in an beautiful and convenient rural location . Ideal for the family get together that we had. Contact with the owner was very prompt, efficient and helpful.. What more can I say? - we will be going back..

Fabulous self catering house with stunning views.

We rented Balgedie House between 21st and 26th September 2017 to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. We were met by the house keeper, Mary, who showed us around the accommodation which we had asked to be made suitable to accommodate 8 adults and 7 grandchildren. We found the house perfect for our weekend from the fantastically well equipped kitchen to the very comfortable and tastefully decorated public rooms. The bedrooms were sumptuous and the en suites and family bathrooms were ideal for such a large group. The family/play room was a great hit with the children and had a variety of games and toys to suit all ages. The expansive grounds provided a safe area for the children to play in and explore so much so, that we did not feel the need to visit the nearby Loch Leven Larder or the many walks around and near Loch Leven itself. We cannot praise Shona and Charlie enough for their superb idea in providing such a lovely self catering establishment and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone planning a group or family get together. We certainly will be considering Balgedie House for future family occasions.

5* Luxury accommodation in beautiful setting!

The house is beautifully decorated and brilliantly set out for a big family gathering. Everything newly fitted so works and very clean. Beds extremely comfortable, super king double in our room - I am very hard to please and I slept very well. Aside from this being a beautiful house to be inside, the views are truly spectacular. I grew up in Scotland so quite hard to please in this department as well and I found myself transfixed by the changing light and views over the course of the day. A very special place and we will be back!

Wonderful House

Beautiful and very spacious country manor house with lovely nearby walks and a decent pub just down the road. Would be great for 3 couples with kids. Only downside were the midges but that's what you get when you are lucky to get good weather!

Perfect country house!

Balgedie House is amazing! It is surrounded by well kept gardens and countryside, with beautiful views over the Loch. The house has been decorated and finished to a high standard and feels luxurious, comfortable and welcoming all in one! The whole house was immaculate with thoughtful touches throughout including fresh flowers and biscuits. The kitchen is SO well equipped and great for cooking for a large group/socialising. Bedrooms were peaceful, with excellent beds and there were enough bathrooms/en-suites to keep everyone happy (master bathroom is incredible!). There were 11 adults in our group and we don't have a bad word to say between us about our stay, it was perfect. Shona was very helpful and easily contactable before and after our stay. She answered all questions and provided everything we needed to know about the house/area. She has thought about every aspect of a great place to stay. We had a fantastic weekend at Balgedie and I would not hesitate in booking again!

Fantastic location for a family celebration

We gathered our family, children and grandchildren,from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Berkhamsted and Walkerburn to celebrate my significant birthday. The house and surroundings were exactly as shown on the website, better even, and immaculately clean and freshly decorated. Mary, the housekeeper was lovely and most helpful, responding to a query promptly. The whole house is superbly appointed and equipped, you lack for nothing. The configuration of bedrooms and bathrooms suited our group precisely and having choices in public spaces was a bonus. We have already sung Balgedie's praises to friends and relatives and would certainly consider a return visit. We wish Shona the very best with this continuing project.
