The guest booked the villa for 1 person. Because I thought that was odd I tried contacting her for weeks with no response. The villa has 5 bedrooms and each appartment 2 bedrooms, in total 9 bedrooms. But if you rent it for 1 person, you get 5 bedrooms max. Once in a while the Island unfortunately has blackouts. That is of course very uncomfortable and we do understand the inconvenience. During their stay, there was so much rain that almost every house on the Island (according to our manager) had troubles with leakages. Again, very unfortunate of course. The reason nothing could be done, is that big demolition works are necessary to solve this problem (which hardly occurs, only with heavy rain). We have never heard of someone falling. We are very sorry to hear that. About the airconditioning: on the website we can either say there is or there isn't airco. As we do have airco on all 5 bedrooms that is what was advised through vrbo to state on the website. If you read further through the advert, you can see it clearly states that aircos are only in the bedrooms. I am really sad to hear guests were not happy. In 14 years 95% of our guests are happy. We did give her a refund for the inconvenience she experienced.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you had different expectations. In the last 10 years we have only had very happy guests. Sometimes things are experienced differently. We will take your advices into account. It is quite common for a house to have the bedrooms airconditioned, and not the livingroom, as the doors and windows are usually open all day. That would cost you a fortune and we think you don't come to the Island to sit inside airconditioning. On Curacao, plan to sweat indeed! There is ventilation in the bathrooms as you can open the shutters at all time. Of course you can dress in your bedroom which is one step away from the bathroom. The house mostly has 220 V, and some are 110V. We have adapters in the house. We also mention it in our advert. There is parking space for one car per unit (one carpark for the villa, inside the gate). The driveway is steep! That's absolutely true! What is also true is that people understand it and think it's cool, as you get an amazing view because of it. I am sorry you don't like the neighbourhood, but one rooster somewhere and 3 dogs is not the same as a dozen dogs and roosters everywhere. We stay in our home every summer, and together with all the other guests we never have any problems with the sounds around us. If the water of the swimmingpool was too hot...I should try to find out a way to turn off the sun. The house is exactly built to allow the island breezes to blow through the house so it usually is nice and windy up the porch. The house is not handicap accessible, that is true and it is noted in our advert. The house is made child friendly when the house is booked with children. We have a stair gate, a high chair and a cot. We have had dozens of families stay at our home and they were all very happy! I am beginning to think you stayed at another home. The BBQ grill is charcoal (anything wrong with that?) and tools are provided to clean the ashes. I just sent you some love and possitivity. Kind regards, Margriet
