An ideal place to stay, we did so for a 60th birthdays celebration. Accommodated all 12 adults in comfort, allowing us to have a celebratory meal and drinks. Trips to nearby Hay and the Arthurâs Stone ridge by the property. An excellent weekend, thank you Coralie.
A beautiful comfortable house. Plenty of room for larger groups. The kitchen is well stocked the bedrooms.and bathrooms were very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The host was very helpful and kept in touch. Overall this is a very stylish house very cosy for a winter weekend away. I would totally recommend a visit.
Coralie was a great host. The building is lovely, great communal area and sociable kitchen space. Beds were very comfy. The oven is slower which wasnât listed till we got a welcome pdf so Christmas was a lot slower- but certainly wouldnât stop us going again. There were plenty of showers and loos. Coralie left a few decorations up which was appreciated .the house had everything we needed- an abundance of cookware/plates and mugs..
One of the best holiday homes weâve ever stayed. Good communication with owner.
Nice pub in village.
House had everything we needed.
Will definitely return.
We had an excellent stay and would thoroughly recommend the barn.
Everything was there that we needed for a family get together pre-Christmas.
Had dinner at the Pandy Inn which was also excellent.
We had a great time with our friends staying at this Property. There is plenty of room and we were fortunate enough to have a couple of dry days that allowed us to sit outside in the garden for a few drinks. We also made use of the Pandy Inn just up the road.
Fabulous property, beautiful rural location. Property as described, with gorgeous interior and garden furnishings to make our stay especially comfortable. Would recommend without hesitation.
We have just returned from staying at Meadow Barn and what a lovely experience it was! The accommodation is superb and our host, Coralie very friendly and helpful. There are beautiful walks from the doorstep and Hay on Wye and Hereford are only a short drive away. A perfect place for a group of friends or family gathering - we have already booked to return again next year!
Had a lovely holiday at Meadow End Barn celebrating my 70th birthday with family.Property clean and well equipped, although a washing line would have been useful.Coralie and villagers very friendly and welcoming.Had a couple of meals at the local pub, very friendly staff and very accommodating for disabled members in my party.
Would recommend Meadow End Barn.
The pictures made me think it was too good to be true but it was even better than this! Stunning property and so much space. Well insulated - we actually had to turn the heating off. The kitchen is laid out very well and a sociable space whilst being functional.
Superb location for dog walking and hill running.
Bunch of 60 year olds , university friends meeting up. Barn was as per pictures - excellent , very comfortable and great space for 7 adults to chill in comfort.
the Pand Inn pub was two minutes walk away and was very good- real ales and good food with great service.
Can also reconned the Nags Head in Peterschurch- had a very good welcome there for Sunday lunch
Set in a small village with a friendly pub, this barn was really comfortable and warm to stay in. The kitchen was great. We love cooking and there was an excellent range of utensils, cutlery and crockery. Everything in the property, from the towels to the tableware was quality. The entrance was a stone floor which was great for the dog during a wet week. The owners were very friendly. Despite the weather we found plenty to do in the area.
Meadow end barn is beautifully decorated very comfortable and generously equipped. We were all older people meeting up so spent an Iinordinate amount of time chatting round the lounge and kitchen. It is a lovelY part of the world.. I have very poor mobility got up the stairs on Friday stayed there till Monday. Perfect.
We had the most wonderful time celebrating a big family birthday. Everyone loved the barn. The stand outs for us - (1) Ample seating with enough space for everyone to do their own thing, (2) great big dining table for us to enjoy meals together, (3) sizeable and very well stocked kitchen, (4) lovely outdoor space for eating and playing, (5) beautiful surrounding area and we loved Hay on Wye. My nephews loved the mezzanine bedroom but it was a little restrictive at night time but the kitchen was big enough for the party to continue in :) We would go back in a heartbeat!
We were a group of 10 friends and one dog, who spent a great weekend in this property and couldnât recommend it highly enough. It was very comfortable, homely and well equipped. As a group we have stayed in quite a few properties throughout the UK, but we all agreed this was probably the best to date. The sociable layout was perfect and the bedrooms very comfortable. Coralie, the owner provided us with useful information up front and communicated with us really well. Location wise it was perfect for visiting the lovely Hay on Wye and the fantastic Pandy Inn was in walking distance where we had a great Sunday lunch. If youâre looking for a place to stay you couldnât go wrong with this one. Thank you & hopefully weâll be back at some point in the future.
The barn has so much character and charm and nearly all the rooms have their own bathrooms which were well appointed. Lovely views of the surrounding countryside from the upper level where the kitchen and living room were located. The kitchen was very well equipped for a large family who self-catered as we did. Plenty of room In the living and dining areas for my family if 10. A couple of negative points: The dryer was not efficient at all and then we discovered it was badly in need of a lint clean which seemingly had not been done for a very long time. People in the master bedroom and twin room downstairs said the beds were not very comfortable. We very much enjoyed our stay there.
The property was perfect for our requirements and the weather was one of the sunniest weeks of the year!
Apart from the local pub (a 4 minute walk away), visits to towns like Ross on Wye and Brecon all required the use of cars, but we new this before we went so it wasn't an issue.
The local pub (The Pandy) dealt with our large group very well, to the extent that we decided to go back and have the final meal of our holiday in their lovely garden.
Coralie was at hand to deal with any queries that arose and she very kindly supplied us with an extra new cantilever umbrella as the weather was so hot in the sun..
The property doesn't have air-con but as the chances of getting a week of consistent temperatures in the high 20's C must be fairly remote, that is understandable. We did have the use of 2 electric fans for the top bedroom and the baby's room.
All the rooms were well equipped for our needs and we would have no hesitation in recommending the house to any large group who want a nice property in a quiet area . That said, at harvest time, the local farmers are out on their tractors quite early , but you soon get used to them.
We had a nice week at the barn - our host was welcoming and communication with her was excellent. The barn was easy to find and access (with ample parking) and a fantastic location for exploring the Wye Valley and Hay on Wye. The Moccas Park nearby was great too.
The decor was incredibly tasteful (albeit different from the photos) and the barn was very well appointed, enabling is to prepare food and also bbq. The upside-down layout worked really well. The ratio of bathrooms to bedrooms was excellent, our guests were all well catered for. Lots of games and entertainment for the kids too.
The main issue we had with the barn was that it was too hot for us, much more than we are used to at home! There didn't seem to be many ways to cool it (one fan was provided) and also no shade in the garden throughout the day until the evening. Room temperatures were well above 30 degrees and we didn't even use the aga or log fire. Bedding was all very heavy and we could barely stand to go in the drying room. This wouldn't put me off recommending it to any of my friends, I think it's just more of a winter or shoulder season place. Being close to the river helped for lots of swims to cool down though!
Fantastic stay in a serene and beautifully decorated cottage!
For our annual friends trip, we were celebrating two pregnancies at Coralie and David's cottage. The property perfectly catered to all our needs throughout our stay. At first glance, the gorgeous rustic decor helps you settle into a very relaxing weekend very quickly. The renovated barn had 5 full baths (some ensuite, some requiring sharing), which for 10 people was fantastic. Everyone was extremely comfortable having their own bath. The kitchen was perfectly equipped for the breakfasts and dinners we cooked up, where there was enough cookware to appease any chef. One big plus was the dishwasher, which ensured our group could spend less time cleaning up in the kitchen and more time playing boardgames in the lounge.
The area also offered plenty for us to explore. The Pandy Inn pub (established in the 12th century and a mere 5 minute walk from the cottage) was a treat, as the local beers were delicious to try and the locally sourced ingredients for the cuisine were equally great. We'd highly recommend the homemade steak and ale pie sourced from the local butcher's shop. The owners here couldn't have been more lovely. As a group, we also took advantage of hiking up to Arthur's Stone, which provided us beautiful views of the snowcapped hills.
All in all, a perfect property that we'd highly recommend to anyone venturing out to the Wye Valley. It's a true gem that offers you utmost relaxation, tempered well with activities for the more adventurous. Thank you Coralie and David for making our weekend and celebrations so special!
Exceeded all expectations. The property is beautiful, cosy, and perfectly set up for large groups. More bathrooms/ensuites than you can count, comfy linen, stocked kitchen, and a table big enough for all guests to enjoy dinner together. Extra callout to the extremely comfy chairs around the log fire, perfect for a quiet weekend of reading. Coralie is an exceptional host, responsive, informative, and friendly. If the place is available for your dates, stop reading and book. It is wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Great rural location with lots of walking routes including Offa's Dyke Path and the Black Mountains and in easy walking distance to the pub! The local village shop opens in the mornings selling local produce and Hay on Wye is just 6 miles away Meadow End is comfortable and well equipped. It also has a good utility room which is v warm all year round so useful for wet shoes and dogs!
