Villa Papoilas est une spacieuse villa de 4 chambres avec une piscine privée à 10 min à pied du centre-ville de Carvoeiro et de sa plage. La villa est bien équipée et dispose climatisation partielle (2 des chambres et le salon) et WiFi. La villa a été solidement construit avec des murs solides, sols carrelés par dehors et volets en toutes les fenêtres et donc il est facile de garder au frais, même dans les mois chauds d'été. La villa est située à la fin d'une petite route en cul-de-sac avec un parking sécurisé (portes verrouillables à la route). Quelques vues sur la mer depuis le jardin mais surtout de la terrasse sur le toit. Carvoeiro est l'un des plus populaires anciens villages de pêcheurs de l'Algarve avec de nombreux magasins, banques, restaurants, bars et une belle plage de sable fin.

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful stay at the villa. It is well equipped, spacious and has a fantastic outside BBQ/pool area. The pool was lovely and warm and enjoyed lots by our daughter. Would recommend!

Really lovely villa up the top of the hill. Lovely pool area and great to relax and sunbath. Great space and large rooms and kiving room area. Great location and we even enjoyed walking up the hill. Recommended!

We had a wonderful stay here during a mini heatwave. The aircon throughout the house worked like a dream. The kitchen was well equipped. We had a few BBQs and my husband commented on how good it was, good height options for the grill. Short walk into the town, as others have commented it is a steep hill, be prepared for a calves workout!We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely spacious villa

Stayed as a group of 8 adults Great villa within easy reach of centre. Quite a steep hill but taxis very cheap if you don't fancy the walk back. Well presented and very clean. Would stay there again.

Great villa that met all our family holiday requirements

A very spacious villa, in a quiet area, with all required facilities, including a pool that was the perfect size and temperature for a family. Great location with just a short walk into Carvoeiro. Sam, the property manager, dealt with any questions very quickly. Overall we had a great trip and would highly recommend this villa

This is a really great villa, with good facilities. Communication with manager was excellent and the problems we had were sorted out promptly. When we arrived the first time we used the sunbeds one of them collapsed (too much UV destroyed fabric), Sam the manager replaced sunbeds with new ones.The pillows in this villa desperately need replacing as they are very lumpy.I marked down location, because although not far (0.7 mile) it is a very steep hill down to the beach/town, and an even steeper one back up! That said taxis were cheap and plentiful.

Very clean property - nice little welcome pack. All bedrooms with aircon . A really lovely pool and pleasant gardens. We didn’t hire a car as the town was only a 10 minute walk but the hill down ( and up!) is really steep so a car would be recommended. Overall it ticked all the boxes for us and would recommend to to others.

Beautiful villa with everthing you need

We spent a week in villa Papoilas in July 2018. We were eight people from 3 to 79 years of age. We enjoyed it very much, the villa had everything we needed, spacious, well-equiped kitchen, perfect pool. And location was fine, 10 minutes walk to the village/beach (which is 15 min to come back up the hill). We had a rental car which we mainly used for going to the large supermarket (10 min).

Perfectly located villa

Along with 2 other couples my wife and I spent a wonderful 9 days in the villa. It's charm is augmented by the professional set up from Sam who manages it to Celia who comes in and tidies up and cleans. Extremely well equipped , comfortable , airy and spacious it's perfect for couples or families. Our holiday was made even better by us being allowed to take our dog who loved roaming the lovely gardens. The villa is a 10 minute walk to the centre of Carvoeiro ...15 minutes return due to the hill! I highly recommend the villa.

June 2023 holiday.

Beautiful villa in great location close to the centre of Carvoeiro which was only ten minute walk down the hill. Longer coming back, especially pushing a buggy up the steep hill, but taxis very cheap. Villa was very well equipped and pool was perfect for relaxing. A number of steps down to the pool area from the verandah but safety gates fitted for young chindren. Beautiful sea views from the roof.

Lovely stay

The property was well equipped and no shortage of kitchen utensils/crockery. The pool was large and Sam was brilliant at arranging the heating of it for our 13 month old so she didn’t get to cold in the water. Bedrooms were a really good size, plus bathrooms. Built in BBQ was used twice in our week’s stay. The only thing we struggled with was the walk to and from the town centre as there was a steep road to contend with. Having a 75 year old and also a pushchair was a little daunting, but made the most of taxis which was not to expensive between 5 of us. Overall a lovely holiday had!

Needs more maintenance. Some footpaths had bricks missing, some locks on doors did not operate as they should and an awful permanent smell of drains from the cloakroom WC such that the window had to be kept open.

Dear Alan Thank you for your feedback. It is always appreciated when people are honest in their reviews although it is also difficult to address any issues retrospectively. I believe you refer to the locks on the sliding patio doors which unfortunately did not work perfectly when you stayed. However, I happy to inform that these have been rectified as completely new set of double-glazed patio doors with 3-point locking system have been installed in the living room and all bedrooms. This had been scheduled for the beginning of the season but due to reasons out of our control, the supplier got delayed. Footpath bricks on the back of the house have come loose (tree roots) and also will be attended to after the season. We spoke about the toilet issue when you were here and as we didn't want to disturb your stay, the drains have been checked and cleaned since. I didn't appreciate from our conversation that this was such a major issue for you stay, otherwise we would have acted whilst you were at the villa. Best regards Sam

Wonderful villa for a family holiday

This is a wonderful villa for a family holiday and we really enjoyed our stay there. There are four good sized bedrooms, including the master bedroom with an en-suite, and they all have air conditioning. The pool area works really well, with a decent sized swimming pool and plenty of space around it for sun loungers, as well as a built in family sized barbecue and seating area which we used several times. And we found that the flow from the living room onto the balcony and then down to the pool worked really well. There were six of us and we could all do what we wanted in comfort but still feel in contact with everyone else. The villa is quiet but only a short walk from the lively town of Carvoeiro where there are plenty of shops and restaurants - the walk back is up a steep hill as others have noted but you can get a taxi instead for under €5.

Fun Place

The villa was as described. Sam was fast in communicating and definitely facilitated both our entry and exit from the villa.The children enjoyed the pool immensely though the weather was a bit chilly. We either walked into town and took an Uber back or drove down and back. The kitchen was well equipped and the house was comfortable even though a bit outdated and with an unrepaired broken water line in the master bedroom.. Our main issue was the laundry. With two children and light packing, we needed to wash clothes. The washer was perfect, but the drying racks kept blowing over. A line for hanging clothes would really help. Despite the described downsides, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it, especially for families with children who enjoy pools.

Rien à dire tout était parfait pour passer des vacances en famille. Maison et piscine très propre . Proximité de la page malgré une colline à remonter pour rentrer. Très bon accueil, Sam est très agréable. Nous reviendrons.

The house is located about a 10-minute walk to Carvoeiro, which has a beach and numerous restaurants. The kitchen included most of the things that you need, but would benefit from some larger pots and storage containers. The bedrooms were spacious and had plenty of closet space. And, the pool and garden area provided a lovely place to relax.Sam the host, was a pleasure to work with. Communication was easy via What's App or email and she responded very quickly to all questions. The check-in and check-out process was smooth. Overall, this house provides an excellent base to explore the Algarve, while also being within walking distance of Carvoeiro.

Perfect holiday home

We had a great holiday, the villa is very welcoming and homely. There is everything you need - wonderful pool, well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Lots of space for families. Sam was very helpful. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic

We had a brilliant holiday with our family. The villa had every home comfort and was great for the children who loved the swimming pool and the garden. Everything was spotless and well kept and actually looks better than the photos show. I would definitely recommend this villa as it’s in a excellent location just a short walk into carvoeiro and it’s lovely sheltered beach and has lots of restaurants and bars although it’s a steep hill walking back you can get a taxi which costs about 4-5 euros.

Great property. Spacious. Well equipped. Clean.

Every need catered for. Location great -apart from huge hill on way home - but do-able! Pool area wonderful. Only criticism is outside tables not big enough for more than 4 people each - ok can put together but not same height. Also would benefit from pull out shade over verandah whilst eating/reading. Otherwise super. Loads of equipment in kitchen. Other furnishings comfortable. We had a great holiday. Manager very helpful and on call when needed.
