Lovely cottage , perfect for us and two teens , great communication throughout from Chrissy and great check in and out with sue , lovely spot ideal base for exploring Cornwall , beautiful view from the bottom of the garden âŠwill definitely be renting again
We have had a wonderful stay here having 5nights, the cottage is lovely, clean and comfortable home from home
The interior design of the cottage is lovely.and garden superb and a real bonus with stunning views Sue and Scott were helpful offering information of where to go and made us feel really welcome
The local pub was lovely and the owners really welcoming and helpful
Would definitely return we really enjoyed our holiday
A group of friends down for a sports competition in Redruth. Communication from the owner was fantastic with any questions answered very quickly. We didnt really explore the area but the location was exactly what we needed for getting to Redruth. Facilities in the house were good and it was very comfortable.
Great for us, the property is nice and cosy, but plenty of space and kitted out with everything you need. Decent pub within yards of the front door and only a short drive to one of the best beaches in the country.
Me and my family had a great time here. Itâs a lovely cottage, we would definitely recommend it and hope to return ourselves at some point.
Communication with Chrissy was easy and everything was very straight forward.
We had a really lovely holiday here, our thanks to Chrissy for providing such a great place to stay. The location is spot on and ideal for those lazy days to relax and enjoy the wonderfully kept garden and beautiful surroundings beyond; or for exploring this stunning part of Cornwall. Our stay was made smooth from booking to arrival with great comms from Chrissy, Sue & Scott. The cottage is just right and deceptively larger than it looks, and is homely and a pleasant place to be. We would definitely stay again.
Really lovely, homely cottage with beautiful garden which was great for just sitting & reading in. Quiet location but within easy reach by car to busier spots. St Ives is picture postcard perfection, with lovely beaches, cafes, restaurants & shops. The beaches nearby at Gwithian are fab for walks & splashing in the waves under the watchful eye of the lifeguards, with a couple of great cafes for lunch too. We took a longer drive to Lizard Point one day and walked a bit of the coastal path which was stunning. Penzance feels more like a working town, we enjoyed walking along the seafront, having coffees & pottering about the shops before doing a fairly stressful but picturesque drive round the single track coast road.
Great for our post-Christmas time in west Cornwall
Very nice, liked all the rooms and the enclosed garden, though this was a bit cold for December, but fine for the little dog. The cottage was warm, was impressed with the storage heaters, and the front room could easily heated in the evening with the dinky log burner. Everything you needed was there. Very handy for Hayle (shops, takeaways) and the nearby coast and also for venturing further afield. Suited us fine for spending time with the family who'd congregated in the area for a post-Christmas get together.
Truly beautiful and spacious cottage, everything was just right. If we return to Cornwall, we would certainly stay here again if possible. Chrissy was very easy to approach through VRBO, all information was given to us before our stay. Sue's just a lovely lady, introduced herself and was only across the road if we needed anything. Which we didn't as everything we needed was at the cottage. Thank you Chrissy and Sue
What a lovely cottage! The photos do not do it justice--big spacious double bedrooms with very comfy beds and a cute single, two roomy living rooms both with ample seating and cosy log burners, a delightful garden and wonderful artful details throughout (hues of blue everywhere: from the selection of mugs on the wall, dishes in the cupboard, simple framed postcards, and stacks of books on the bedside tables which are also all cleverly sea or sleep-themed) made it a wonderful space for our group of 5 plus our labrador. The location is just brilliant too. Gwinear is a quiet traditional local village perfectly located just a few minutes up the hill and seemingly miles away from the traffic. Within a ten minute drive you have access to stunning coast with walks to and beyond Godrevy Lighthouse where you can spot seals (recommend the National Trust cafe in the car park) and to the Upton Towans Nature Reserve with its fantastic network of dunes (free parking and great for dogs and kids!) leading to the three miles of gorgeous unspoilt beaches of Hayle/Upton Towans. So many other beautiful spots in SW Cornwall are within an easy drive as you are beautifully positioned to reach either coast. We had a fab day out exploring St. Michael's Mount and the coastal villages along the way to the magical Minack Theatre (Penzance, Newlyn, Mousehole) where we bundled up and enjoyed the first of the season's productions. Another day we hiked around the whole end of the Lizard Peninsula rewarded with glorious scenery, pasties at Kynance Cove and cream tea at Lizard Point--very easy hike, just the bit from Church Cove (darling!) along to Marconi's Wireless Hut, the RNLI station (very cool!) and back to the Lighthouse is steep in parts. We thoroughly enjoyed St. Ives too with its lovely galleries and shops--and one day my husband took the kids out on a fishing trip and brought home mackeral for dinner! My husband and I also tackled the Zennor to St. Ives section of the SW Coastal Path--3-4 hours of breathtaking views and a very good leg workout! We have come home refreshed and inspired by all the beauty of Britain--a wonderful pick-me-up after the long grey winter! Thank you Chrissy!
Cosy but lots of space
Everything you would need away from home
Super comfortable beds
Ducks and geese at the end of a very pretty garden
We had a great time
Sweet little cottage with a very nice enclosed garden, well equipped and in a good location for accessing some great places. Only downside was that the bathroom and toilet are downstairs so if you need the loo at night the stairs can be tricky if youâre a bit less mobile. Otherwise a lovely stay.
From the time of booking, communication and details were excellent. The cottage is lovely, comfortable and nicely decorated. It is in a quiet area, but conveniently close to Hayle and beaches. It has a nice garden area and parking. Everything we needed.
This is a much loved holiday home that has been in the family for 24 years and is used by us regularly through out the year. The parents, the kids, and the grandparents all love it.
Our cottage is cosy and peaceful no matter what time of year. We love curling up in front of the fire after bracing clifftop walks in winter and enjoying a BBQ with views across the fields to the sea after a long days on the beach in summer. The sunsets are breathtaking.
Our cottage is always thoroughly cleaned between our guest's holidays. We will also be undertaking extra disinfecting of high touch areas and undertaking other measures to help protect our guests and staff. Please contact Chrissy if you need further information.
Gwinear is in a peaceful spot a 7 minute drive away from the three miles of sandy beaches of St Ives Bay and gentle hustle and bustle of Hayle. We love swimming in the sea, day trips to St Ives, boating and walks on the beautiful West Cornwall cliffs. It's such a relaxing place to be in all seasons.
