Les Arches se trouve sur une cour et est un chalet en pierre de plain-pied qui a Ă©tĂ© rĂ©cemment rĂ©novĂ©. La propriĂ©tĂ© a obtenu un prix d'or 4 Ă©toiles Visit England chaque saison depuis son ouverture. Le chalet est meublĂ© Ă  un niveau Ă©levĂ© avec chauffage central au fuel et planchers de bois franc partout, il dispose Ă©galement d'un grand jardin clos avec vue sur la mer qui est sans danger pour les enfants. SituĂ© Ă  7 miles de Holy Island avec son chĂąteau et son prieurĂ© et Ă  9 miles de la ville fortifiĂ©e de Berwick upon tweed. Le cĂ©lĂšbre chĂąteau d'Alnwick est Ă  seulement 40 km avec sa connexion au film Harry Potter et les jardins avec sa cabane dans les arbres. Seulement 10 miles forment les frontiĂšres Ă©cossaises avec accĂšs Ă  Édimbourg Ă  seulement 1 heure de route. Le village le plus proche est Lowick qui est Ă  un peu moins de 3 km. Le village a une Ă©picerie et deux pubs avec des restaurants, le Black Bull Inn et le White Swan.

A fabulous stay

We had a fantastic week staying at The Arches. Karl and Emma made us feel very welcome and the cottage is light, spacious, beautifully decorated and excellently equipped. The welcome pack was a wonderful bonus after a long journey up. The location is perfect, set in a quiet location but within walking distance to the local village and a short drive from the beach and other touristy locations. We loved staying here and will definitely return.

Can't praise this property and owners enough. From the spotless property, fantastic welcome pack, beautiful area to the three Labradors made this one of our best breaks in Northumberland. Nothing was too much trouble for Emma and Karl, going out of their way to make us feel welcome. We can't recommend The Arches enough and can't wait to go back again.

Another wonderful stay at Lucker Lea

Beautiful holiday home in a wonderful location, perfect for easy access to Holy Island, Berwick upon Tweed and many of the lovely coast and inland places to visit in the borders area. The home itself is spotless and well equipped with all you could need, and Karl and Emma such lovely hosts. The welcome hamper is generous to the extreme and the best we’ve ever had anywhere! I was staying with my elderly father who has limited mobility, using a walker, and The Arches was suitable for his needs with easy access (no steps) and all on one level inside. He hired a mobility scooter from Berwick and we enjoyed walks on the town walls and pier, Holy Island (to the castle), Wooler Common as well as along the quiet roads around Lucker Lea going into Lowick. Highly recommend this place and we hope to return again.

AMAZING!

What an amazing place to stay! The owners were kind, helpful and close at hand if we needed them. The cottage was the cleanest, comfiest and most welcoming place we have ever stayed in. The welcome pack was just what we needed after our journey and actually lasted the whole week. The cottage was close to all ‘touristy’ places and we managed to find quite a few places off the beaten track too! An amazing holiday and as Karl waved us off this morning, we assured him we would be back!

Excellent location and property

The property was in a great location for easy travel to a number of places of interest. It is set in an old yard which is very quiet and peaceful. The property has been very well kept, the decorating is fresh and the furniture fits the place perfectly. There is all there that you need to enable you to enjoy your stay. The owners make you feel very welcome, and we had the very best 'welcome pack' that we have ever had on our arrival. A massive thank you to Emma and Karl.

100% Satisfaction

Lovely rural setting, immaculate and spacious property, high quality comfortable and convenient furnishing. Emma and Karl were attentive and friendly hosts with an easy, relaxed approach. The Black Bull provided very good pub food in Lowick, 5 minutes drive away. We are an elderly but fit couple and for us this was a perfect base from which to explore the castles and beaches of this beautiful area.

A really lovely cottage in a great location.

Karl and Emma were very welcoming and the welcome pack was the best we've ever had. The cottage was spotless. It was so nice to have a good size television and all the amenities. It was very well furnished. The location is excellent. It was easy to find and is close to many places of interest including Lindisfarme and the Farme Islands.

Beautiful setting for a peaceful holiday

Very helpful owners in an immaculate "cottage" ideal for me as my hip needs replacing and no stairs to negotiate. Lovely comfy bed overlooking the larger than expected private lawn . Although I was quite happy to bbq on the one that was already there ,while we were out getting some meat from the butchers ,a new one appeared !

My name is Emma, I am the owner of The Arches and the running of this wonderful holiday cottage is something I have always wanted to do and thoroughly enjoy. I will ensure that your stay with us is memorable and nothing will be too much trouble. I myself like to stay in beautiful accommodation so think I have good idea what people like. I also have two children in primary school so know the issues involved in holidaying with "little ones".

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The property was converted by my family in 2000 from a disused "Pig Sty" to become a family home. It was fully renovated in 2012 to become the beautiful holiday cottage that it is now.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The property surrounds a courtyard with 3 other family homes. It has stunning views out towards the coast. The location is perfect to get away from it all but with Villages and Towns a short drive if need be.
