We could not have felt cozier or more welcomed in Ann's lovely home. Likely that is because it *is* where she lives most of the year; it is full of thoughtful detail and has wonderful views. Her care for it is evident, and I will return as often as I can and as long as Ann allows it!
Our stay was absolutely perfect. From the check in process to check out- Anns property was amazing. There were so many unique aspects of her space. We especially enjoyed the solarium space & the sound of wildlife was immaculate. Ann stocked us up with some essentials and made us an amazing apple tart. We had plenty of space that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Oh my goodness, if I had a chance I would rate this home and location a 12 star!! We LOVED this place from the first time we saw it, until we left a week later! The owner Ann was amazing to deal with from start to finish! It was myself, my husband and 4 grown kids(2 sons/2 girlfriends) and we had ample room! The home is decorated beautifully with everything you would need on a holidayâŠand Ann even stocked the fridge with groceries that we would need right awayâŠand made us a delicious apple pie! I cannot say enough good things about this place! Do yourself a favour, look no further and book this place!!
big open floorplan with lots of light, great neighbours ( a bull, 3 cows and 6 calves) and a super central location to explore. Everything was exactly as described and Ann was a charm to work with.
Very spacious house with perfect, cosy furnishings
We had very nice days here and were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the house is. Everything with first-class facilities and very clean. Thank you very much!
We had a truly delightful stay at Gorsehill in Doolin. We were greeted with a delicious homemade apple pie and essentials in the fridge. Cottage was perfect for an extended family, lots of different areas to hang out in and great access to the town. Host -Ann couldnât have been more helpful. Would highly recommend.
We had a warm welcome by Ann on arrival. There was a lovely apple pie and groceries provided . Excellent location for visiting County Clare. Would highly recommend Gorsehill for anyone wanting to stay in Doolin.
Arriving after dark Ann met car. The house was just what I needed. Delicious Apple crisp, waiting. Ann was available for any need! The home was peaceful, having a wood stove, quiet surroundings, walking trails, perfection. Books to read topped it off.
Hospitality is Ann's forte for sure. After traveling from the USA we received a warm welcome, easy check-in, a homemade apple tart, and refreshments to get our stay off to a great start. The house was our base camp for 10 days while we explored the Wild Atlantic Way and our family history. This beautiful property will not disappoint anyone considering it.
We stayed for a week in Anne's beautiful country house. Everything was exactly as described, even the delicous apple cake! We walked the cliff path up to the Cliffs of Moher and played the Doolin Pitch&Put 3 times. Highly recommendable.
I rented this house with three friends--it was just perfect. Beautiful spacious home, great views, so comfortable to be in, really convenient location and the owner was a dream. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We will be back!
We regularly rent homes on the west coast and this is a wonderful location to visit the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. Doolin is a delightful village about a 30 minute picturesque and easy walk on the âsaferâ route; half that on a busier road. The house was well-equipped and spacious, and charmingly decorated. The master bedroom and ensuite is particularly lovely.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very much at home in Ann's spacious and very comfortable house. Ann baked us a really delicious apple pie and yes, we now have the recipe! Many thanks for that!
We will miss the gallery overlooking the sea and the sunset.
The area around Doolin is also really beautiful, with the Cliffs Of Moher, the Aran Islands, the Burren, and Lahinch Beach with great waves for swimming and surfing.
Absolutely recommendable!
Ann is a wonderful host - providing more than we would have expected including a fresh warm apple pie. The house is charming and easily accessible to Doolin. There are lots of sweet cozy places to read inside on a rainy day and since itâs so close to town, you can pop in and back quickly. I would say the listing doesnât do it justice. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.
The house is very comfortable in every possible way and the owner has kindly included many extra touches to make you feel welcome! The garden is beautiful with options to relax outdoors or in a lovely covered area if raining! The location is superb for exploring Co. Clare. You will enjoy a very relaxing holiday at Gorsehill.
The booking process was tricky as my search was picked up by VRBO USA and VRBO UK and there were price differences. It would be useful if people booking from Ireland could pay in Euros.
Our stay at this holiday home was nothing short of spectacular. The house itself is incredibly spacious and tastefully furnished, providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The breathtaking sea views and the stunning vistas from the gallery were simply unforgettable.
The location, while a bit secluded, offers the ultimate in peace and tranquility. We cherished the serene environment, far from the hustle and bustle, making it the perfect retreat. One of the highlights of our stay was enjoying dinner on the terrace at sunset â an experience that was truly magical.
To top it all off, we were warmly welcomed by the exceptionally friendly host, Ann, who greeted us with a fantastic homemade apple pie upon our arrival. This thoughtful gesture made us feel right at home.
We highly recommend this property for anyone looking to experience the beauty and tranquility of the Irish countryside near Doolin. It was an unforgettable stay, and we canât wait to return!
Gorsehill house lived up to our expectations! The property was everything we expected given the pictures and descriptions. Terrific property with plenty of space to stretch and relax when chilly and drizzly, convenient for us to get around County Clare to the places we wanted to go, and what fun sitting in the back yard looking out toward the ocean listening to the on property stream gurgle in the background. Convenient corner grocery and gas about 2km away was tremendous for ease of topping off groceries without needing to drive a longer distance into nearby villages. We hiked from Doolin along the cliff edge path to the Cliffs of Moher visitor center, and back, about 6 hours roundtrip walking, amazing views! Other highlights were fun relaxed horse trail ride from Mountain View Horse Centre, took ferry to explore Inis Oirr (Aran Islands), and walked around The Burren. Definitely recommend this property for exploring County Clare, Doolin, The Burren, and Cliffs of Moher.
Ann is simply the best! She went above and beyond her hostess duties for myself and my family. We got a flat tire right before We arrived and Ann & Gabriel came to our assistance. She took my elderly parents and my sister back to her home as we waited for the repair man to arrive. Once we arrived at her home there was a warm freahly baked apple pie awaiting us. She even made sure we had the essentials in the refrigerator to avoid us having to go out right away. She is the epitome of the word hostess and truly a lovely lady. I would love to visit her home again on one of our future visits to Ireland. We all hope that our paths will cross with Ann again. Not to mention how close her home is to all the attractions on the West Coast. The Cliffs of Moher were very close along with the Burren, Doolin ferry and the best pub in Ireland, McDermotts.
Thank you again Ann.

I grew up in this area and I built this house in 2006 because I loved the site and remember visiting it when I was a kid I love to go for walks towards Doonagore Castle down to Doolin beach to watch the sunset or along the coast walkway to Cliffs of Moher.
