I booked this for some of my family to stay for my wedding - great location and lovely rooms, big open plan living kitchen space. Perfect for what we needed!
This property is great for young families, it has all the amenities and really is just a home from home. We returned to the property after last year as the location is just terrific. Our kids manage the walk to north and south sounds and back this year. As well as Salcombe town itself being so close and easy to get to. Another wonderful time despite some dodgy weather.
This was a perfect property for two families to share. I especially liked that the family bathroom was between the front and back bedrooms so we didn't hear noise from the kids bedroom. Spacious, well equipped, clean kitchen. Sunny outside seating area, perfect place for a drink while waiting for the bbq or for coffee and croissants in the mornings. I actually cannot faut it. We all had a great stay, thank you!
We have stayed in the house previously and chose to come back again as we knew the quality of the property and location. Parking out the back for a small car (we actually fit two cars there easily). The house is clean, well equipped and suitable for a range of ages. The basement area with additional fridge and freezer, washer and dryer as well as games consoles and a sofa for kids to use is an asset. We stayed with our one year old, four year old, grandparents and two friends. The location works well for us, we like walking down the hill into the town and can visit Hope Cove, South Sands etc easily. The spa shop over the road has most basics you need and Waitrose or Tesco and deliver as well. We will definitely visit again.
Fantastic property, we went as a group of 3 adults and 6 children. Plenty of space for everyone. Kids loved the basement room to use as their own space. Equipped with everything you could need. Lovely little touches. We managed to park 2 small cars round the back easily. Salcombe is very steep but we found a good car park near front. As we had smaller children we found it easier to go to beaches away from salcombe of which there is plenty of choice. Would definitely use again
Wow, we just had the best time. This property has been renovated to make the most of the space and had everything we needed. A great location with access to both salcombe town and north sands beach within a reasonable walk. Close to the outdoor swimming pool and a great park. We couldnât have been happier with our stay.
We have just returned after what was a long awaited holiday and the house just made this holiday perfect!! It is larger than it looks in the pictures and has everything you need to make it a wonderful place to stay. The outside seating area was perfect for watching the sunset and taking in a glass of wine and catching up on the day. Very useful was the basement area where the grandchildren played games and the beach stuff stored and dried including all the wet suits body boards etc which we were also able to wash down with the outside tap. The house is equipped with everything and large enough to spread yourselves out, we were a party of 3 children and 6 adults and had plenty of room. This has to be the best holiday house we have ever stayed in. Thank you Vicky
This property is so comfortable and clean. It has everything you could possibly need. It has a great outdoor space too. It is on top of a steep hill in Salcombe but an easy walk down to the shops and beach with a steep climb back to the house. Good excercise!
It is great not to have to drive anywhere and there is parking behind the house. We will definitely be returning!
This was our 2nd stay at Paxdene. We absolutely love this house. It is beautifully furnished and the location is perfect, a 10 minute walk into town with children taking in the gorgeous views. We have managed both times to park our estate car around the back. There is so much to do in Salcombe too, ferry rides, multiple beaches and lovely pubs and places to eat.
We couldnât have had a better week. The house was fantastic - much bigger than the photos may suggest and the location also great. We were 3 generations of the family and everyone had a great time! Thank you!!
Ten of us (six adults, our three young grandchildren and our baby grandaughter) have just had a wonderful Easter week staying at this beautiful holiday home.
The amount of space in there for everyone has to be seen to be believed and there was plenty of room for us all without treading on each other's toes, so don't be put off by the size of the front of the property - it is positively tardis like!! Everything you could possibly want in a holiday home is catered for, including plenty of gadgets and gizmos to keep everyone (including the kiddies!) entertained. All we needed to bring with us was our own bed linen and towels and, of course, food and drink.
The house is in a good position with lovely views from the rear overlooking Salcombe and the countryside/estuary. We found the local Spar very handy, being just a minute's stroll away and the walk downhill into Salcombe itself was delightful - the hike back uphill however wasn't quite so delightful and us oldies found ourselves having to pause every so often..............to admire the views again of course!!
The owner Vicky was extremely friendly and helpful with any queries we had before we arrived and there is also a housekeeper who lives 'very' close-by should you need her whilst staying at Paxdene.
All of us (young and old!) would certainly have no hesitation in recommending a stay at this lovely property - totally Fab-u-lous!!!!!
Well thought out house, with great accommodation, plenty of bathrooms and a fabulous basement for all your beach kit. Masses of fridge and freezer space for food and booze.
Our party consisted of my wife and myself, our son and daughter in law and their three young children - all under 3. The property was ideal for our stay: it was clean and well maintained and everything was as per listing description. The facilities make Paxdene very suitable for 2 families sharing.
There is a downhill 10 minute walk to the sea, which we enjoyed but would not recommend for the disabled! We found lots of interesting shops and restaurants in Salcombe and both my wife and I and our son and daughter in law managed an evening meal out during our stay. We went to different restaurants (55 and the Boatswains Brasserie) and both provided a very enjoyable meal. We also went to Dartmouth and Agatha Christie's house during our stay, both of which are well worth a visit.
An unexpected bonus was the discovery that there is a play park approximately a quarter of a mile from the house, which is ideal for young children to let off steam. Finally, we were blessed with dry and mild weather throughout our stay, which made for a very enjoyable holiday.
