Excellent communication from Nigel (the owner) and the house is very well presented and in a fantastic location close to the town centre, Fitz Park and the Lake. I would have no hesitation in booking the house again!
The property is in excellent conditions and under 5 mins to the town centre. Located in a residential street with good on street parking. The bedrooms were all good size and the owner had left lots of maps and leaflets for activities in the area including walks , cycling, lake activities etc. This was an ideal base and Keswick is a great town with lots of restaurants/bar meals to suit all budgets. For groups or 2 families this would make an ideal base.
Just left Mona house, it was better than expected ,very clean, comfortable beds, plenty of room and best of all fully supplied kitchen with everything you could need to cook for 8-10 people. Just a few min walk from Main Street too. We had wonderful weather and loved Keswick too. Nigel was a great communicator too! We would definitely stay here again and recommend Mona House to anyone!
Lovely property with everything you will need for your stay. Very short walk to the town centre. Also very good communication from Nigel the owner. Would definitely stop again.
Wonderful property in the heart of Keswick, clean, comfortable and very well equipped
We loved our stay at Mona House. The property was large and really well equipped for our two families, totalling 9 people. The beds were super comfortable and the bathrooms were lovely. Everywhere was very clean and tidy.
The property is also well located, very near to the centre of Keswick with all its charming shops and facilities.
Thanks so much, we are already planning our return.
This is an excellent house situated very centrally in Keswick. It is fully equipped with everything you could need, has great WiFi and was immaculately clean.
Keswick itself has lots of interesting shops, cafes and restaurants and is surrounded by lots of walking opportunities.
Nigel was a great host and very helpful throughout the booking process.
Mona House is spacious, clean and modern and had everything we needed. Stayed here with my wife, 7-month-old son & my parents and we all loved it. Was great to have a high-chair and a travel cot (really easy to assemble) already there for us. Nigel contacted us on the evening of our arrival to check we had all we needed and again before we left to check all was ok (which it was). The house is very conveniently situated for walking into Keswick & for hikes in the surrounding area - we only used our car once during our stay. Would definitely stay here again!
We were hoping that Mona house would give us a clean, cozy, well-situated base for a family break to Keswick and this was exactly what we experienced. Communication with Nigel was excellent throughout, the accomodation was really good value, beds were comfy, nice and quiet but 2 mins walk from town, well equipped, easily roomy enough for 6 adults. Everyone in our party was really happy with the accomodation and we would happily stay here again or recommend to friends.
6 seniors recently stayed at Mona House. It is well situated, just a short walk from the town centre and some excellent restaurants and grocery shop. The house is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen has all the amenities that you would ask for. Nigel was very helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to friends.
Great Cumbrian property, well equipped and in a fantastic location.
We stayed at Mona House over a long Autumnal weekend, a group of 6, there for the excellent fell walking around Keswick.
The property is typically Cumbrian with plenty of character, clean, comfortable and well equipped, plenty of space for drying kit and boots overnight.
Itâs in a great location, just 2 to 3 minutes walk to the town centre.
We wouldnât hesitate to stay at Mona House again.
My kids were thrilled to find boxes of toys and games in the cupboard. The house is close to town, and convenient for walks to Latrigg, Catbells, and Skiddaw. The kitchen is well equipped. Beds and lounge are comfy. Love the map in the dining room. Really happy with our stay there.
Great accommodation - specially for a big group. Central to town - just perfect !
Great experience and Nigel the owner is v helpful. Lots of space to store bikes at the back of the house securely. Overall love Keswick. Love the house - will be back next year !
This was our second visit and the house was just as we remembered. Spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. Really well equiped kitchen with everything you could need to self cater. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in Keswick.
Three generations of my family had a long weekend at Mona House to celebrate my 50th birthday. What can I say about Mona House other than a perfect house in a superb location, an absolute credit to the owners. Communication and attention to detail was excellent.
We stayed for a family weekend and Mona House couldn't have been a better property to stay in.
Fantastic location, beautifully furnished with some great little touches such as walking books and children's games.
Nigel was great to communicate with and really helpful
This is a gorgeous traditional property which is very very well equipped there is more than everything you need for a pleaseant comfortable stay. Thoughtful little touches throughout the house, excellent Wi Fi and a few minutes level walk into the town. Plenty of free parking available near the house. We would have like to have stayed longer. There may be cheaper places but there definitely won't be better value places.
I live in Yorkshire with my wife and 2 young children. I have spent the last 15 years primarily caring for the children and Mona House is the result of one of my several 'projects' which have helped keep me sane during that time! Keswick is a place I have known since childhood - first as a camping destination, later for its mountain biking and fell walking and now as a great place for family adventures.
The house came to our attention primarily because it's sale kept falling though. When we bought it in 2009 it had rising damp, a leaking roof and many other problems which needed attention - which meant we could afford something we'd never dared dream of. Undeterred by the work we bought it and employed a local builder to drag it back to life...and I myself spent many evenings camped out on the building site floor. For us, the main attraction of Keswick is that it's a place where we can access all we'd want to do without having to travel more than 15 minutes in a car (if at all). In the immediate area there's walking, cycling, boating/watersports, a climbing wall, play park, cinema, theatre, swimming pool, shopping, eating and of course endless rounds of crazy golf!
