Nice apartment in a quieter part of Sao Martinho do Porto.
The apartment is above the bay, but you can avoid the uphill walk back from the beach by taking the lift in the tourist office (operates 9am-midnight in summer) .
A good location for getting about the area if you have a car, but do your research about the toll roads to avoid any unnecessary charges/ fines (note that as far as we could ascertain there is no way to pay unpaid tolls once you leave Portugal !!)
Secure underground parking at the property is a bonus.
Well equipped and roomy space with all the required amenities/ facilities for a self catering holiday.
The only downside was the outside space - the balcony was plagued by bird mess, which meant we were unable to put washing out to dry. For this reason (and because the weather was 'mixed' during our stay) it would've been helpful to have a change of bed linen and towels provided. Not a major issue, but I've mentioned it as the owner asked for feedback for improvements.
Other than that we enjoyed our stay at this apartment and would have no hesitation in recommending it to fellow travellers.
Comfortable apartment in a quiet and convenient location within walking distance of sea, bars and retaurants. Ideal for exploring or relaxing. Apartment was very clean and possessed all necessary amenities, including a nice shared swimming pool. The local bars are worth visiting and the restaurants, particularly those by the quay, serve great food with the fish a highlight. Value for money is extraordinary. The area is great for walking and we also enjoyed trips by local buses to nearby towns.

My passion for travel began in my teens. I have since travelled extensively, often re-visiting the same places many times. The wonderful thing about travelling is that it gives me a personal insight into how people choose to live their lives. I was struck by the different elements in a personâs life that makes them tick; no matter the climate, the food, the tradition, the culture, we all share a common thread of humanity.
I first came to this part of Portugal in 2009. My husband and I have enjoyed many happy and relaxing holidays in Sao Martinho Do Porto, returning every year. I love being by the sea and relaxing in the sunshine at one of the many bars and cafes lining the promenade. I just adore sitting outside drinking a coffee or glass of wine and watching the world go by, or simply looking out across the bay at the sunset.
I was attracted to this apartment because of the high specification, the exquisite finish, its clean lines and the modern simple decor, fabrics and lighting. The pool area is secluded and is a perfect place for lounging & relaxing in the sunshine.
