I am a retired medical doctor who bought the property and spent some 5 years totally refurbishing and upgrading it to a standard that I was happy with. We decided to rent it out only to cover ever rising costs - not to make it into a business venture, but it has become so successful that our family now need to book our vacation early in order to enjoy the villa! We do not use it whilst guests are staying. Our guests use the main villa which you can see in the photographs on the left. We use the both left and right villas. You will have full use of the property and pool whilst you are there. No sharing at any time. We are entering the 8th year of renting - 2016. Heart warming are the number of guests who return having enjoyed Poggio Bello, its solitude, peace and quiet and a totally safe environment.

We bought the property which is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It has the most wonderful air and totally uninterrupted views in all directions. The Renaissance began an hours drive away in Urbino, birthplace of Rafael. It is not on the commercial tourist trail unlike Tuscany and Umbria, and has so much to offer in terms of authentic local food, festivals, amongst which are truffle, cheese, chestnut, bread, wine (Verdiccio-the white and San Giovese- the red ), medieval, operatic etc. It is about 45 minutes drive to Ravenna with its world heritage site of mosaics and Rimini, with its Tiberian marble bridge still in use both on the Adriatic coast. To the north is the Rubicon, and thermal bathing can be found 40 minutes away. The source of the Tiber close to the thermal baths and San Leo, the finest hill top city in all of Italy according to Machiavelli is 35 minutes away. The Republic of San Marino, the oldest republic in the world is some 45 minutes drive. Arrezo in Umbria with its Della Francesca paintings and frescos is just over an hour away. Michelin starred restaurants and Michelin recommended restaurants are all within easy reach, and the variety and authenticity of the local food offered is wonderful. The property is about a kilometre from the local town and only the church bells will disturb you. It is extremely private and an easy cycle ride to Santagata Feltria, the nearest small town about 4 km away.

The property is private, quiet, has a huge beautiful garden and a large pool - 14 metres long x 7metres x 2.1metres deep. Glorious views of hill top towns and valleys from the property - nothing unpleasant is visible. Safe and lengthy walks according to energy levels and steep hills for the serious cyclist and wonderful food which is totally seasonal in the locality. The best restaurant in Emilio Romagna - voted for the past 2 years is only 30 to 40 minutes drive away, and do bear in mind that Emilio Romagna (Bologna its capital city) is recognised as the "Food Capital" of all of Italy! Historically we were Le Marche, but since a vote in 2010, we are now part of Emilio Romagna. Because we are in the mountains, the villa is very rarely too hot and cool breezes in the evening are often welcome after a hot day!
