We have been coming to this house five times or more with friends and this year took it with our sons and their friends. If I was lucky enough to have a house on Gozo, Iâd like it to be just like this. Evoking Gozo culture, relaxed and hugely functional, romantic, and comfortable. Top holiday.
The house has everything you could want and more, and actually is far bigger and more beautiful than it looks in the pictures. Would recommend to anyone! Really helpful host too!
Oh my how to start. The house was even better than it looked in pictures. It was stylish and comfortable and we settled in very well. It has been pretty hot so air conditioning was very welcome. We were a group from 16 months to 86 and all had a relaxing time. The pool also catered well for us all I felt we should have booked for longer as it was hard to leave. We will definitely be returning g to Gozo.
We were a group of ten (three generations) â and everybody loved the place. The property is very spacious, beautifully restored and all the rooms are individually and very tastefully arranged. Outside, there are several sunny terrasses and also shady places as well as a wonderful garden. The pool is suitable for swimmers and for children. The housekeeper gave us a warm welcome and was always available for all sorts of questions. In addition, the owners gave us information about the restoration oft he house and had recommendations for where to eat and what to visit. The house is very well equipped, from kitchenware to sun loungers and towels. We really felt comfortable and highly recommend a stay here.
We had a lovely time staying at the property. Emma was great with communication and super flexible and the housekeeper was very helpful and accommodating. Given our vulnerability, they made sure we'd also have a safe experience while there which we very much appreciated.
There's everything you could possibly need and more! The rooms are massive and comfortable and the pool and garden are magical. The pool in particular is great, with a shallower end for kids to play and an adequate deep end for those who want to get a proper swim in.
The only two small things to note are that the house is situated on a road which is heavily trafficked by trucks. Not a problem most of the time but our car alarm did keep going off at all times of the day. A well placed light outside would make it possible to dine once the sun has set and still see what you're eating.
We highly recommend this rental for families with children as well as for adults looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. We wish we could have stayed on!
With 4 adults and 3 children there was more than enough room for us. The house is well equipped for families. The location is good and it's a quiet neighbourhood. Communication was good and the housekeeper is very helpful even taking us to the supermarket when we arrived to get some essentials.
The pool is a decent size albeit a little chilly but we were there in May so I'm sure it warms up. We would definitely recommend it we had a lovely time.
We stayed with our friends, so there was 6 of us (4 adults & 2 children) it was a great space for us all and the pool was a good size.
The property has every thing you need. Itâs a great holiday home to explore Gozo.
We had a fab stay and holiday!
The villa was very nice and spatious. The pool was great. Tessie was wonderful.
The flushing of the toilet didnât flush very well, only after a few tries.
Overall we had a great time there.
A lovely family house, quiet and peaceful, with a pool and shady garden. Perfect for families
This is a lovely old house, beautifully restored, with plenty of living space indoors and out. The pool is ideal for children and the garden is shady and cool even in a June heatwave. It is peaceful and quiet (a short drive from Victoria's cafes and bars). It was perfect for our three-generation group. The housekeeper Tessie was warm and welcoming and at hand if we needed anything (we didn't as everything was in very good order and the house is very well equipped). Highly recommended.
We spent 2 lovely weeks in this beautiful house. The large garden, pool and layout of the house worked for everyone from the small kids to the teenagers as well as grand parents. Tessie the housekeeper was lovely, inviting us to her smallholding to see her animals with the kids and sharing her vegetables. The gardener and pool man were ensuring we were happy and happy to go the extra mile. A fabulous house on a fabulous island!
Part 2:
The house is fully supplied with those all-important peripherals: wi-fi, TV/DVD, landline telephone (and excellent mobile phone signal), books and magazines, DVDs, games and indoor/outdoor/pool toys. A huge supply of proper large towels means never having to ration yourself when you take a plunge or head to the sea. Bathroom towels and bedding supplies are plentiful and the fully-equipped laundry room will sort out any requirement. Except for food and drink, there was not a single thing we needed or missed which wasnât supplied by the house.
Tessie, the long-time housekeeper keeping things ship-shape and who lives right across the street, is super-helpful and practical and knows where everything is, so youâre never stuck, even in an emergency (she also makes outstanding honey from her own beehives, grab a couple of jars before you leave).
Finally, that all-important price thingy. Sure, in absolute terms youâre paying a good sum, but for what youâre getting you will struggle to do better. We stayed at the peak of the high season and at ÂŁ2500p/w thatâs ÂŁ70 per night per double bedroom. So, if youâre a large gang then youâre onto a winner, especially when you take into consideration all the extras youâre getting on top. We had an outstanding fortnight and the fact that we could settle into our holiday right from the first minute without having to âget organisedâ meant every penny was thoroughly well spent.
Cheers!
Part 1:
I first came to Gozo in 1994 and have returned almost every year since. Having stayed in every type of accommodation on this island from high-end to low-rent in every shape and size, I am thoroughly familiar with whatâs on offer here. I needed something very special this time round for a large family get-together and having done my recce had no hesitation to opt for this property above others, as it covered my criteria of location, size, facilities and price.
Located on the very edge of a small village bang in the centre of the island, everything is equidistant to reach and easily so. No, you canât see the sea from here, but you have an uninterrupted and stunning view across the fields to The Citadel, a superb crusader fortress towering above the islandâs small capital Victoria. The size of the house works in all ways â number of rooms, layout, outside space & comfort - and its welcoming character tells you that this is a much-loved family home and not a soulless and spartan holiday let.
Itâs a converted old farmhouse built out of cool limestone with tall vaulted ceilings and large spacious rooms, giving the whole house an open and uncrowded feel. The lounge is super lounge-y, the kitchen openly accessible and well-equipped (including dishwasher and a large fridge-freezer), all bedrooms bar one are en-suite with modern fittings and large walk-in showers and the beds are proper affairs with quality mattresses. Nothing is rickety or knackered, but solid and well put-together. Arranged over the ground and the first floor around a pretty internal open courtyard, the spacious and spread-out nature of the house ensures you never feel that youâre all on top of each other. Outdoor space in the garden (and on the large roof terrace) provides plenty of room for sun worship or seeking shady corners, in unison or in solitude. There is a large comfy outdoor sofa arrangement on the patio and the good-size pool is thoughtfully fenced off for the safety of the little ones. The back half of the garden is shaded by trees with a large hammock and a huge table for al fresco and stuff. A cool little bungalow at the end of the garden provides an additional en-suite bedroom for those who want to be far from the maddening crowd. All rooms have large ceiling fans and the two upstairs master bedrooms on the first floor are also air-conditioned (but which we never used, the fans did plenty enough). The house is clean, tidy and uncluttered and everything is in working order.
We spend a week staying at this lovely house in Gozo in October 2014. We have been to Gozo a few times before and found that this is by far the best house we have stayed in. The rooms are all very spacious, opening onto a courtyard in the middle of the house. The furniture is all excellent quality and not the usual holiday furniture we have found elsewhere. The garden is lovely with many areas for sitting and eating outside. We would highly recommend a stay at this house.
We were a mixed party of friends and family from Scotland and Holland. Some were after a scuba diving holiday, others a sunny relaxing holiday. Ages ranging from 2 - 60 years old.
The farmhouse offered everything each of us needed, a real home from home. It was spotlessly clean with loads of extra bed linen and towels. A very good mixture of twin and double rooms. The outside space was fantastic, as was the pool, very child friendly. The kitchen had everything we could have wanted for cooking.
Tessie the lady who looks after the property could not have been more helpful, it was like having your best neighbour just over the road. She left us a welcome pack and gave us little titbits of helpful information. The gardener was also a very pleasant chatty gentleman.
Emma, the owner, was very helpful with communication when booking the farmhouse, and she was very prompt in her reply to my many questions.
Gozo folk are very friendly and helpful, we all had the most wonderful holiday. I would not hesitate to rent this property again. The island is beautiful with lots of beauty spots and some excellent diving.
The only negative is that one week is not enough time to explore this beautiful part of the world.
We stayed here in September 2013 with some friends and it was an idyllic holiday. We were met by a neighbour when we arrived, who was so helpful and welcoming. The photographs do not do the villa justice. The pool is enormous - ample enough for 8 adults (and was lovely and cooling in the September humidity!), the interior courtyard was also a lovely place to cool down and read a book in peace.
The villa is remarkably well presented, and you really feel like you are staying in a holiday home, rather than a bog standard self catering property. There are lots of little stylish touches, art and decorative elements. The bedrooms are enormous and well presented, with enough towels and beach towels for your stay. Comfortable beds in cool rooms - there is air conditioning in some of the bedrooms but we found we didn't need it if we kept the shutters closed. The pool furniture is of good quality, the settees were a brilliant addition, particularly for sitting out and watching the sunset.
The views are to die for, particularly from the large roof terrace that leads off the master bedroom, with steps down to the pool area. There is a lovely long meandering garden full of flowers, and even a herb garden at the bottom. The garden suite is ideal for a couple who want complete peace and quiet.
This was simply the best place we have stayed in Gozo (and this was our 7th visit!), and hope to return next year!

We live in London and this is our own family holiday home. We completely renovated the house to create a very comfortable house and garden that we (and others) would enjoy staying in...a home away from home with all the comforts not normally found in holiday houses. We have 3 children and have therefore done the house up and equipped it particularly well for families with young children.
I spent all my summer holidays as a child in Gozo and wanted our children to have the same carefree, safe, hot summers. There is also no better place for a Mediterranean holiday!
