Detached 4-bedroom house close to beach and town with beautiful private garden.

Hidden gem: detached, family-friendly house set in a quiet position yet close to the beach, pubs, supermarkets and town. Private, south-facing garden planted with lovely sub-tropical plants, with fabulous estuary views. Upper patio area and lawn with BBQ and outdoor furniture. Steps down to a large, flat lower lawn (big enough to play football or badminton!). The house is set back from the road with a private driveway for up to 3 cars.

The house has an open plan living and dining area and separate kitchen, renovated in 2023. There is a utility room with washing machine and downstairs toilet. On the first floor is a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, a twin bedroom, a WC and a separate family bathroom with shower and bath (renovated in 2021). Some narrow stairs lead to the attic where there is a twin bedroom and one small single room, with a fold out z-bed that can be used for an 8th guest (please note this is a small space and only suitable for children or adults who know each other really well:-)). The twin beds in two of the rooms can be pushed together and made up as doubles if you prefer.

The house is opposite a famous local pub called the Bucket of Blood, which serves lovely food, and a short walk to Hayle town for shops. Supermarkets, restaurants, train station, recreation ground/adventure playground & other amenities are all within walking distance.

The beautiful, 3-mile-long sandy beach is just a 15 min walk through private lanes & grassy dunes or you can drive 5 minutes to the bluff or Gwithian beach. The beach has safe water for swimming (no rocks or currents) and rarely get busy. It offers great views to St Ives and the Godrevy lighthouse and lovely walks along to Gwithian. Patrolled by lifeguards in the summer months, the beach is ideal for all water-sports, especially surfing and kite boarding.

The house is in a great location for exploring all Cornwall has to offer: stunning coastal walks, secluded beaches, National Trust properties and other attractions nearby. Paradise Park is less than a mile away. The house is perfect for families or groups of adults wishing to relax and unwind in this beautiful part of the world.

We always strive to make the house welcoming and comfortable for our visiting families and our guests. We have recently renovated three of the four bathrooms, added new sofas in the living room, fitted a new patio and revamped the kitchen. We have also recently replaced all the fencing and fitted a new boiler. The kitchen is fitted with all mod cons so you can feel right at home.

We are very proud of our garden which we have been perfecting for the last 8 years; with a mix of native and semi-tropical plants there should always be something in bloom all year round. Children should particularly enjoy the secure, private level lower lawn for playing football, badminton or just running around!

Sorry but no smokers or pets allowed due to family allergies. Drone flying in the garden is strictly prohibited.

We really enjoyed our holiday in Cornwall. We had fantastic walks using the guide book in the house, had delicious meals in local restaurants, and the pub opposite the house is unforgettable. Alan and Julie's house is very comfortable. Everything one needs is at hand, and the garden is beautiful. Alan and Julie were very helpful in advising us. Nous avons beaucoup aimĂ© nos vacances en Cornouailles. Nous avons fait de magnifiques randos grĂące au guide que nous avons trouvĂ© dans la maison. Nous avons beaucoup apprĂ©ciĂ© les deux repas pris en restaurants et avons trouvĂ© que la gastronomie anglaise avait fait de sacrĂ©s progrĂšs ces derniĂšres annĂ©es :) le Pub en face de la maison est very charming :) La maison est trĂšs agrĂ©able, trĂšs propre. On y trouve tout ce dont on a besoin, le jardin est grand et trĂšs bien entretenu. Alan et Julie, sans ĂȘtre sur place ont Ă©tĂ© trĂšs disponibles par tĂ©lĂ©phone ont rĂ©pondu immĂ©diatement Ă  toutes nos interrogations. Nous recommandons cette maison en toute confiance.

Had the pleasure of recently staying in this holiday property. The property was very well equipped, with everything you could need, and more. It was clean and tidy and the gardens were lovely, plenty of room for the grandchildren to play. We had no car for the first 4 days as we had experienced car trouble on the way down. But this wasn't an issue. The beach and the shops were within walking distance, and the buses and trains provide good links to the surrounding towns. We went to St Ives on the bus, which avoided the hassle of parking once we were there.You certainly get your steps in by staying at this property and Phillack Hill is not for the faint hearted, although it did become easier as the week went by.Would highly recommend this property.

The house is extremely well equipped. Very well supplied in the kitchen and utility, and has attractive modern bathrooms. It is very comfortable and there is a keen eye to useful extras with board games and local maps supplied. I would thoroughly recommend this house to anyone planning to stay near Hayle.

The property is in a good location and has a lovely garden. The house itself could do with an overhaul, it needs decorating throughout and has damp issues, the sofa in the lounge needs replacing as it’s uncomfortable and stained. The upstairs attic rooms are very cramped only sutitable for children and have no storage for clothes so we had to live out of suitcases. Also the cleaning is not up to standard, the doors and skirting boards are dirty and so is the shower seal around the bottom and the bbq was dirty /rusty but owner did send a replacement BBQ grill a to replace it overall the place was very dusty. There’s a lovely pub opposite but it’s very hard to book a table for a meal as they only serve food between 5 and 7.30pm and take very minimal bookings. It’s a shame about the house as location and garden were perfect it just needs some money spending on it to bring it up to better standard for a holiday rental I wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately

Lovely house in a great location

Beautiful house in a great location. Everything you needed and more was provided. Only criticism really, attic bedrooms, 1 was tiny, my 14 year old son didn't mind, but there wasn't really anywhere to put his clothes other than a draw under his bed. The 2nd attic room again was small with nowhere really to put clothes, they lived out their suitcases. Wasn't the end of the world and certainly didn't spoil our stay. I would definitely recommend and i would definitely want to stay again.

Family-friendly home in lovely location

This is a proper home from home - a house with plenty of space and a properly well equipped kitchen. We had a family reunion with our grown up daughter and her husband - six of us in total, all adults - and found there was more than enough space for us all. Lovely living room, spacious dining room, and a kitchen that let us cook for a large group. The garden is stunning but the weather was mostly poor during our stay, so we didn't get to use it. We did get to do a walk across the dunes to Mexico Towans, though, which was a real highlight. We would have eaten at the Bucket of Blood but it was mostly closed during our stay (holiday time) - hopefully next time! The property owner is really accommodating and quick to respond to messages. Overall, a lovely stay and one we would repeat at another time of the year.

Great half-term stay

Lovely house which accommodated us and our three teenage children really well. Very conveniently located for the beach and walks in the dunes. The pub opposite was also charming and cosy. We would definitely recommend it and hope to visit again.

Perfect!

We had the most fabulous stay at Julie’s place. The garden is stunning and perfect for the kids, very spacious house with everything we could have possibly needed. Fabulously located for the beach ( a beautiful beach)/ shops.. bucket of blood pub over the road does great food.. park in walking distance and an outdoor swimming pool. Thank you for a wonderful stay Julie we would love to stay again!

Beautiful house in phillack

When we arrived the house was clean and tidy the gardens are amazing and well kept. The house has all a family with children could need. Our boys lived the attic bedrooms and myself and partner had the master bedroom our girls had the other twin room and there was plenty of room for our family of 7 the house was perfect the location was amazing we had the most amazing week and the host was great with a small issue that cropped up and with in 24 hours it was resolved an and had no effect on our stay at all Thanks again for the best time had no ewit

Haus fantastisch. Einrichtung perfekt. Alles da, was man benötigt, sogar mehr. Mit Liebe eingerichtet. Viel Platz. 2 BĂ€der, 3 WCs auf 3 Etagen. BettwĂ€sche und HandtĂŒcher inklusive. Tolle KĂŒche. Laundry-Room. SpĂŒl- und Waschmaschine, riesiger KĂŒhl- und separater Gefrierschrank. Wohn-Ess-Bereich sehr gemĂŒtlich. Garten riesig und umwerfend schön auf 2 Ebenen mit Palmen, Kiwis, Äpfeln und schönen Sitzmöglichkeiten. Haben ihn viel genutzt. Umgebung wunderschön. Kirche aus dem 13. Jahrhundert direkt um die Ecke mit uralten GrĂ€bern und 1-stĂŒndigem Glockenkonzert am Dienstag-Abend. Strand fußlĂ€ufig. Ca. 10 minĂŒtiger Spaziergang durch reizvolle DĂŒnenlandschaft. Alle Einkaufsmöglichkeiten im Ort. Strand und Meer genial. In UK waren noch keine Ferien, so hatten wir den Strand fĂŒr uns allein. Viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten in der Umgebung. Aber wir hatten super Wetter, haben uns lieber in die Wellen geworfen. Herrlich! Viel Infomaterial und Straßenkarten vorhanden, sehr guter Kontakt zur Vermieterin. Alles in allem eine wunderschöne Unterkunft in wunderschöner Lage !!!! Sehr zu empfehlen!

Great location

Nice house, plenty of room, well equipped, very nice large garden, close to shopping, easy access to A30 for exploration of the area, short walk to a gorgeous beach, even shorter walk to a very fine pub! The only thing that could use a bit of improvement is the mattresses. They are a bit thin and lumpy for senior folks, kids might not notice.

Great location for visiting Cornwall

Good sized house which suited our needs, walks to the beach nearby & good driving distance to points of interest Our only problem was checking in as the access code we were sent didn't work, we didn't have phone coverage or wifi to call anyone, luckily a neighbour we asked knew a maintenance person so he was able to supply the correct code. That was stressful! In the house description it says there is a dryer but there isnt. Otherwise everything was fine.

Lots of space, great garden

House as described, lots of space for family of four (boys aged 14 and 11). Unfortunately weather wasn’t kind so we didn’t get to use the wonderful garden. Great location to explore the area with the wonderful 3 mile beach only 15 min walk away. Bucket of Blood is on the doorstep, lovely old pub with good food. Would recommend and look to return. Very enjoyable stay

We had a great stay at this house over the past week, we didnt want to go home. The house is lovely, very light and spacious and well equipped with all the necessary bits that you can find at home, great garden, well situated for exploring west cornwall, and very close to absolutely stunning Hayle Towans beach. Unfortunately the weather was against us this past week and wasnt great but couldnt fault the house. We would like to return next year but sadly its already booked for the dates we can do.

Cornwall Hayle

Das Haus war sehr sauber und hervorragend ausgestattet, der Garten war wunderschön und bot gute Möglichken zum Spielen und relaxen. Der Strand, großartig, war gut fußlĂ€ufig zu erreichen. Der Pub direkt gegenĂŒber war sehr gut, um dort zu essen oder auch abends zu sitzen. Wir waren alle sehr zufrieden.

Work keeps us and our young twin boys away from Cornwall for the moment, but we spend as much time as we can in this beautiful part of the world and hope one day to live here permanently.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We have great friends in Cornwall and it was while visiting them that we fell in love with Phillack. It's a lovely (and little known) village on the hill overlooking the estuary & Hayle. We couldn't believe that such a place existed yet isn't totally over-run by tourists! Easy to reach by train or on the A30 (with no windy one-track roads to navigate like in other areas of Cornwall!) it's just a beautiful part of the world. We couldn't believe our luck when this house came on the market, in such a great location but with such privacy and with estuary views. Now we've added the wood-burning stove and equipped it with everything we need for a relaxing break, it's our favourite place in the world, and we love hearing how others have enjoy it too.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The best thing about the house is the garden. With a terraced lawn overlooking the estuary & Hayle, it's completely private and gets the sun most of the day... a wonderfully peaceful place to relax. The second best thing is the pub opposite the house! It is a quiet 'country' pub, renowned in the area for great food (in high season) and good ale. The other main benefit of the house is it's location: within walking distance in one direction to the beach, and in the other to town for the Co-op supermarket, surf shop and other amenities.
We've kitted the house out with everything we would want for a relaxing break, so hope other people find that it has everything they need. A fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and little useful things you can borrow like games, jigsaws, maps and umbrellas, as well as games and toys for kids should hopefully help people enjoy their stay.
