Great stay at this wonderful farmhouse out in the country near Leonard, Texas. The host was awesome in every way and we loved the house. Iâd definitely stay again.
The Dog Creek Ranch property was perfect for our group of 6 adults during the 2024 eclipse. The house was as described in the listing, with everything we needed, and the property was beautiful to explore. Communication with the owner was responsive and clear, and any questions we had were addressed quickly. If I have the opportunity to return to this area of Texas, I wouldn't hesitate to rent this property again!
I've stayed at this house multiple times and it's so cute and cozy. It's tucked away in the woods where you can't see the neighbors. It's like staying at your grandparent's house. I'll defiantly stay again next time I'm in the area. Also, Steve is just great. he takes care of any need you have and is very easy to contact.
The pictures on this listing do not do it justice. This home was very beautiful and quite. It was very simplistic and rustic. Felt like I was home. If I'm ever back in this area will most definitely stay here again.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, especially interacting with the cows. Our only complaints would be that we couldnât use the front door because of a wasp nest and we are allergic to stings. Also, we had to do some cleaning of the refrigerator and bathrooms before using. We would recommend this location for a peaceful getaway.
Absolutely LOVED this property. The property, the location, the whole process! It was the perfect family reunion our family needed especially after the year of corona. We attended a wedding at The Grand Ivory and it was the closest and the prettiest location for our family to be together.
The layout, decor, furnishings, and overall feel of the house is like house sitting at your favorite family relative's place for the weekend! We absolutely loved it. We felt right at home from the first minute we walked in. The house was cozy and welcoming. The neighbor cows even came up to the fence to say hello as we drank our morning coffee on the back patio under the beautiful blooming apple and pear trees. There are even board games and puzzles to play on the giant dinning room table after you enjoy a home cooked meal and watch the sun set!
Only one note... the road going in is narrow. Be courteous to your fellow drivers and give way if you have space. :)
We stayed here for a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed the peace & quiet. The cows in the pasture were fun to have around.
Stores are close by. Very easy stay. Great house
Not anything fancy but certainly met our purpose and there is gobs of room! Very convenient to Grand Ivory Wedding venue. It was nice to not have to drive across DFW after the wedding and great to have a place to hang out before the wedding. Thank you Steve for recommending great BBQ and being so communicative throughout our visit. Loved being away from town!
Even though the house seemed very clean, the smell was terrible. It has a smell like an old house. The house had decent beds and sheets and plenty of nice towels but the thin comforter left a bit to be desired. Overall the house would be fine if it didn't smell so bad.
Nice place out in the country when you want to unplug and get away from it all. Only 15 minutes from Skydive Spaceland Dallas in Whitewright if you are looking for a little excitement!!
Perfect location for our daughterâs wedding at The Grand Ivory. Good size, pet friendly, friendly and supportive owner and even saw cows walking by to greet us in the morning (behind the gate, no worries).
We were in town for a family reunion and this property was far superior to the hotel options in Sherman. This house was a perfect spot for us to have privacy and space. The owners were helpful and provided better driving instructions than google.
We're a Dallas family with 3 kids and two labs. This our get away from the city home. It's quiet, quaint and kids love to explore the creek and property.
