It’s a nice place and great location, the decor and room sizes are a bit dated. Hosts were accommodating by allowing 1 hour early check in and luggage storage prior to checkin time. Wi-Fi was accessible in main area downstairs, but not as strong on upper levels or rooms. Hosts were super responsive and provided support to large group. Make sure you read the fine print as there are things that are not included in original price, such as air conditioning, pool heating, tourism tax, or towel staining fee. Other than this, it was a great experience.

Fabulous villa with loads of space for a big family. Biggest bonus was the lovely pool. We went in August and had it heated, well worth as the 6 children spent many hours in the water. Great bedroom space. Small supermarket and pizza restaurant an 8 minute walk from the villa.

Overall well positioned and well equipped…. Perhaps a bit more shade around the pool .The pool was a good size for our group of 9.We all enjoyed the table tennis. A good BBQ area and terrace . Quite a lot of ground for the grandkids to explore make dens and hide .

The perfect villa

I have just returned home to Norway after a wonderful week in Villa Borboleta. We were 12 friends all around 64 years old who really enjoyed the beautiful poolarea with plenty of sunbeds, nice big diningtable for good meals and good portugise wine, nice walks down to the charming little town of Carvoeiro ( and very affordable taxi back home ) The beautiful house was perfect for us with nice big bedrooms and bathrooms, and the house was well equipped with everything we needed and it was very clean. The communication with our host Marie was nice and friendly and all in all we could not be more satisfied. I also want to mention that the whole process with my reservation and payment went smooth without any problemsMarit, Norway

Family fun

Our stay at the villa was excellent! Enough room for the 15 of us, from an 8 month old to 65! Everyone enjoyed having the pool to play in and the location was great, close to town and restaurants. Marie was very available for any queries with very prompt response. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay, highly recommended

We had an amazing stay at this stunning villa in the Algarve. The large, bright rooms are beautifully designed, and the spacious garden with a large pool is perfect for relaxation. The host was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and always willing to help. The villa is equipped with everything you could possibly need, offering high-end amenities. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

60th Birthday Celebration with famiky

Absolutely fantastic Villa & location. Marie & Ray had thought of everything to make our holiday fabulous. There were bed guards for children’s beds which were a very welcome addition as hadn’t worked out a contingency for that. The views from the upstairs room were amazing, I can still visualise them now. Have to admit to being sorry to leave. Thank you Marie & Ray, you were wonderful hosts.

Lovely Family Holiday Villa

Great property with lots of space for families or large group of people. Super outside area for dining with BBQ and a lovely big swimming pool which can be heated. Children loved it as did the adults! Property is in an excellent location. A short walk to local bars and restaurants and mini supermarket and about a 15/20 minute walk to Carvoeiro with lots of shops and restaurants. Walk back is up a rather steep hill but there are plenty of taxis to take you back to the villa! All in all a great place to holiday in the sun.

Our party of 9 ladies spent a great week at the beautiful Villa Borboleta. It was clean, spacious and airy. Very central for town which has fabulous restaurants. Hope to return next year. Thank you Marie for all your assistance during our stay.

Amazing location

We had 4 families stay at Villa Borboleta for a week during Christmas. The villa was spacious with enough space for 13 adults. It's a fully equipped villa with sitting areas for everyone. Rooms were spacious as well as bathrooms. The ground were gorgeous. We were blessed with sunny, mild days the whole week. Temperature were at 63 F all week and it was confortable to sit on the terrace for breakfast everyday. Nights became chilly and we had a fire going on fireplace everyday. Firewood could be purchased at the intermarche in town. Easy walk into town, but uphill on the way back. We had a car so it made it easy to get around. Really enjoyed our time in Carvoeiro. Marie and Ray were very responsive hosts.

Wonderful villa

Beautiful large property that 10 adults happily fitted into with space to spare. Lovely well kept gardens (with a fresh lemon for the gin and tonic!) and great swimming pool enjoyed by all . Lovely welcome from Maria and Ray. Plenty of good restaurants in Carvoeiro...it is a healthy walk back up steep hills but plenty of taxis in the centre rank. (We never used them!) A lovely week for a group ranging in age from 23 to 65!

Stay 19 to 26 Aug 23 - Mills

This property has all the facilities that a large family gathering would need to make any stay wonderful and in our case a holiday of the decade. The hosts, Marie and Ray were very accomodating and no request for help and/or advice was ignored. The highlight for the children was the large swimming pool with outdoor shower. For the adults, it was the very generous welcoming pack and the fully fitted kitchen with two fridges, one full cooker with oven, one electric hob and a large microwave. The bedrooms with ensuites was a nice touch as was the air conditioning units throughout the house. Overall, the house was as advertised and more as we explored it. Thank you for the use and I'm sure the memories made during the holiday will stay with the whole group for years to come.

We already operate VILLA BORBOLETA for 14 years. As we offer a personalised service to each of our guest-groups we made a lot of friends in all that time. And that is probably the reason why so many families come back so often to enjoy Villa Borboleta under the Algarvain blue skies !

This property offers full comfort and privacy to groups from 8 to 16 guests. The villa has an astonishing ocean view and is located only a few minutes walk from the centre of Carvoeiro and the beaches. But also from the golf courses, the tennis courts, some nice restaurants the shopping centres etc.

VILLA BORBOLETA's unique benefits are definitely the fact that this huge villa had been constructed as a 'family hotel' which means that each spacious double bedroom has also its en-suite bathroom and WC.
