Definitely recommend staying here! Only feedback is to clean the backyard even during fall transition, add mulch to make it look appealing and clean the bricks/pathways. Also fix the oven door that was never fixed so we couldnt use it during our stay. Overall great setup.
Visited with a large group (13) people. Was able to handle us pretty well. Would be even better for couples and/or families.
Nice home in a convenient location. Good communication leading up to the trip as well.
The house was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Renters should note it is a duplex that is only connected by a shred back yard. Its location is in a neighborhood that is a short walk from the French Quarter, and our large group of men felt safe walking through it together. But several Uber drivers urged caution while dropping us off. It is apparently not the best area, but we had no issues. All in all, we were very happy with our stay.
This house is a historic older home. It is located in an ideal spot for the French Quarter and the JazzFest. The house is divided into two duplexes. Each has a kitchen. As in many VRBOs - many of the beds are placed in rooms without doors. The kitchens were well stocked. The only disappointment part was that the back yard area needed maintenance. The fountain doesnât work and there was some mold. The most outstanding part of this property however is the property manager, Shinda. There were 10 of us and she transported us everywhere. She would arrange for as many cars as we needed. She picked us up from the airport. She was ALWAYS on time, very nice, and made sure we were ALL taken care of. I would rent this property again. Great place for a family New Orleans stay. But- only with Shinda!!!!
Our stay here was a HUGE disappointment! The floors were so dirty, our white socks turned black. The oven door was broken. The bathtubs had hair left in them. We found a used condom on the floor in one of the bedrooms. We had wash the dishes and utensils upon arriving, because they were unclean. The pool was unusable because it was not heated and littered with leaves, etc. The doors stick, so there is a lot of pulling and slamming to get them to open and shut. None of the windows could be opened to let in any fresh air. The manager only responded to our requests half of the time. The pillows and mattresses are old and smelly. If this level of cleanliness is acceptable by management, then I would recommend a new manager. We have never been in a dirtier vacation rental as this one!!
Good location , plenty of room to spread out , big back yard ..within walking distance to most places or a 8 dollar Uber ride anywhere you want to go for the most part. Locals around the house were nice and no problem⊠we walked and felt safe âŠ
Only negative feedback was the back yard ( all concrete) could use some cleanup. Empty pots and over grown flower beds. We really enjoyed the space and the pool but there were sticks , leaves etc gathered around like it hadnât been swept or cleaned up for awhile. Fountain wasnât working either and there was a ton of mosquito larvae in it. The house could use some deep cleaning ( baseboards, behind doors in the bathrooms , windows etc) other issue was we set up a ride to and from the airport with Shinda and pickup was great but after no one showed to take us back to the airport we called and text several times and finally got a call back saying she was stuck in Baton Rouge and couldnât get us but was sending her son. So we were 45 min late leaving the rental for the airport. From what we gather we were forgot about. No text telling us the plans had changed etc. we had to prepay for that service also.
There were several homeless people who we did see using the hose spigot in front by the main entry door to the house to shower etc. and who camped out on the front stoop overnight.
The people at The small people bar just a block down were friendly and a lot of fun. They were all locals , overall a good experience
House is everything you'd expect from an older New Orleans home, turned vacation rental. Great place for a bunch of grown men to have their own space. Pool is small but deep, was really fun to turn into a whirlpool lol backyard could use some love/powerwashing, but it was a very nice spot to relax.
2 things, if you're a woman I would not walk back here unless you're in a group.
Also, need to take the fountain out, or get some mosquito dunks. It is just a massive breeding ground for larvae and it made the bugs extra thick in the backyard.
This property is ideal if you are traveling with responsible teens or 2 families. It's almost like they have there own apartment next door. Location was excellent. Vibrant Treme!
We had a good time in New Orleans and enjoyed our stay at Kreole Kottage. I was surprised that the units didn't connect from the inside. The back yard was beautiful and the boys enjoyed the pool.
Minor issues - coffee maker on one side was marginal. Bathroom bulbs out when we arrived. one side code did not work on the way in. Both sides codes shut off at noon the day before we were scheduled to check out, so we spent the next few hours packing, cleaning, starting dishwasher, etc., and wondering if we were going to have to make alternative plans. We had changed flights to leave that evening and VRBO finally acknowledged that it was an error on their side, but it was a pretty stressful last day.
I had my bachelorette party stay here (11 women) and we had the best time. The backyard and pool area were a favorite hang out. I definitely recommend this VRBO for a large party. The area a couple blocks away is a little dicey but we didnât have any issues. The hosts were very timely and helpful with communication.
We enjoyed our time at the property! Itâs a couple blocks away from a pretty sketchy area but we didnât have any issues. Itâs about a 10-12 min walk to bourbon street.
Came back to NOLA for the Sugar Bowl and rented both sides of the house for our party of 10 and wound up with beds to spare. House was in perfect location and it was a short walk to the Quarter. We were even able to make the 45 minute walk to the Superdome and avoided using Uber/Lyft altogether. The weather was exceptionally warm for NYE (even for NOLA standards) and we made use of the wonderful courtyard/patio area. WiFi was fantastically reliable. Only issue we found was that we were only able to watch local channels on the cable tv. Wanted to catch a basketball game on ESPN but got an error message every time. We wound up watching on our phones instead.
Lil Dizzy's is a must if you stay at Kreole Kottage. It's a 5 minute walk to the hands down best dining experience we had in NOLA. The fried chicken is no joke!
Would definitely try to book here again if/when the need arises!
hosted a bachelorette party at the house and it was great. We had a great time and the host was very responsive and gave us great recommendations for places to visit and eat. Thanks for such a great time!
