I am so sorry about the ants. I know youy had your grandchildren and dog there and did not want ant spray but I would have send my exterminator--- to be clear, the ants were near the slider, my cleaner complained about it to me because there was sugar cereal left all over the floor as this is where folks eat as well. The couch is not torn, but I will say there are some stains on it. These concerns should be brought to the owners attention on arrival so they can be rectified. Your emails suggested there were no worries. FYI , I was charged a surcharge for your 'things' left in the shower and trash as well as for the ants however it is not in my nature to report these things. Perhaps review the folks that stayed after you but I suppose after the additional clean up we did the ants were not a problem. You also indicated you did not want spray due to your grandchildren and dogs. The sofa remains and the house has brand new everything, bath, flooring,carpets and furniture. Imperfections are to be expected I only wish I could post the photos of the squallor left for the poor cleaning folks and the sofa so others could see.......Thanks so much

Hi Maureen I am so sorry the home did not meet your expectations. When this happens I do offer a full refund and because you came from far I went above and beyond to offer you a place to stay for the night because I felt so badly that you were so upset. I did work very hard to make the house as perfect as it could be for your family and we had nice email exchanges in the months leading up to your visit. I honestly thought the new bathrooms, carpets, grill and landscaping would have surprised you and made you happy. The house you rented on line was very different. I was so excited for you to see it. I felt so disappointed by the reaction about the towel rack and was defininately hoping to hear positive feedback about the upgrades. However, I did not say the things you said I did. I do not feel as if I screamed at you. I did not speak to your mother in law as there were only two of you in the house so I am not sure how I frightened her. Your husband was delightful to speak with. 1- The propane tank was only half full, you are correct. I did not think it necessary for a full one for such a short stay but was happy to bring a new one 2- I do not supply firewood- I don't think my listing says I do but I will check and add that so people are aware. Thank you for the feedback. Most helpful - I have never had anyone be so angry with me because of this before. Even after 10 years with 3 homes I still have new experiences. 3- I had emailed to let you before your arrival to let know that the bathroom was renovated and while I thought you would be a nice surprise that you could enjoy the renovations there were imperfections (no towel holder - on backorder so I could not hang it-- in the downstairs bath, the upstairs had one) and the floor molding had not been placed yet. I do apologize for that. I would have explained how to use the new thermostatic shower system but you left prior to my being able to call you back. I also contacted the gas company to make sure there was no outage (happens sometimes) - So sorry you did not get to use the new shower system. It is very cool. I am incredibly sorry that your special weekend started like this and so happy you found a nice place to stay and enjoy your weekend with your family. Best Lori
