Kanaloa #2401 is a spacious condo located at the entrance of historic Keauhou Bay. Enjoy your morning coffee and watch the outriggers paddle out. The soft breezes and sometimes evening showers make it a special place.
It comes with A/C, washer/dryer, and ceiling fans. There is a cal-king and two twin beds. The living room has a new sofa bed with an 8â mattress and two matching lounge chairs.
Condo amenities include a full kitchen with the original koa wood cabinets. The kitchen and both bathrooms have recently been remodeled. The original koa wood remains in all three. Just off the master bedroom is a new office-complete with desk, chair, outlets, and great lighting.
An easy fifteen-minute walk around Keauhou Bay puts you at the manta ray snorkel, day boats to Kealakekua Bay, and the memorial at the birthplace of King Kamehameha III.
We had a great time at the Kanaloa complex. Convenient, quiet, and friendly. Staff were all very communicative and helpful. Other guests and owners were all friendly. This as a very good place to spend our January.
The only think reducing the check-in and communications ratings was that we really didn't receive any personalized communications in advance. When our plane arrived late and then arrived late to the condo, there were no messages to us and the phone number we called wasn't answered. However, the security guard had our key and we were easily able to get into the room. All went great from there forward!
Specious condo, not very clean and super outdated, it claimed online to have modern kitchen and in reality it was super old, dirty. Cabinets were old and stinky, fridge shelves broken. Master bathroom didnât even have a bathroom fan, so if you go number 2 the smell goes into your bedroom. The most annoying part was that we got a complaint saying our iPad sound was too loud around 5 pm which is not considered a quiet time yet but literally the next morning around 6 am they had some construction going on doing their side walks, so all the big trucks were making lots of noise and the workers yelling digging, poring concrete and that was appropriate for them. Itâs really disrespectful and I will not come back here, it was a last minute thing for us and I got what I got, wasnât cheap!!!!!!, not worth your money, if you have time on your hands look for something better.
We love the Kanaloa complex and have stayed here many times. Without question, this unit is one of the most disappointing condos I have stayed in in all my travels. It is clearly the most bare bones, non stocked and stripped down unit you can imagine. The threadbare towels, TERRIBLE beds and overall amenities were a real disappointment. The kitched had plastic salt and pepper shakers for spices, nothing else was stocked. No alum foil, the knives were more than terrible, no exhaust hood above the stove made cooking a real challenge and the rice maker was broken. The pots and pans should be thrown away, no non stick pans except one 4 quart one we ended up using the whole time and an assortment of terrible utensils. Cheap plastic cups, the list goes on. The beds were so terrible I am amazed that the owners and Castle think that they are acceptable. And having to go to the front desk many times for a roll of TP, paper towels and another couple garbage bags was just a terrible experience, is it really that hard to stock a unit as we were staying there 17 nights! I give kudos to the staff, all were friendly and helpful, just seems like Castle Resorts has some sort of Motel 6 policies towards amenities. My suggestion is to spend a few hundred dollars stocking these (expensive) units with basic necessities, it creates a bad experience when you cut so many corners and make sure the beds and linens are top quality. We love kanaloa and will be back but not with a Castle managed unit!
