This is the second year we rented this cottage. We feel at home here. There are dirt roads to walk your dog which we liked. Sharon was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed.

Wonderful Cabin

Had a very nice few days at this cabin. Host was excellent with communicating and giving us suggestions of restaurants and places to visit. Clean and had everything we needed for us and our 2 pups. Loved how quiet the area is and the view of the lake was beautiful especially at sunrise.

Quiet oasis

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin. It is on a dirt road, and there were many walks from the cabin. The view from the porch as we ate was breathtaking, with all the leaves changing. Would stay again.

Super cozy and comfortable cottage, Remote enough for quiet nights but close by a lot of fun local towns and activities. Sharon and Paul were great hosts, kept us updated and were responsive to questions.

Cozy cabin

Family, Dog and I loved walking through the beautiful wooded area around the lake and checkin out the ice fisherman on the lake. Only saw one other person each time walking west of cabin.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful week at the cabin... it was extremely clean, and well equipped. It's a fairly remote location (the last couple of miles is on an unpaved road) but not isolated; there are several houses in the area. We enjoyed viewing the lake and listening to the loons from the front porch. There's no A/C, but it wasn't needed for our week in mid July. The owners are great, and very accommodating. Hope to stay again soon!

Weekend escape

We had a lovely time at the cabin. It had everything we needed - stocked kitchen, fun games, great books, dog bed/bowls/bags. We took the short walk to the lake every day and had it completely to ourselves. The town nearby was cute and had some good shopping. Just remember to pack some butter/oil for any cooking. The closest grocery was not close and also was not open. Would definitely recommend this cabin for a peaceful getaway!

Getaway for the third year

Another wonderful stay at the Scamper Inn. This is our third year staying here. The location is great to Okemo and restaurants while being off the beaten path which makes walking the dogs a treat. The cabin is cozy with everything that you need in a full kitchen. Sharon keeps adding new touches each year and is very thoughtful about every detail. Sharon is also very responsive and checks in at just the right times. A great find!

Beautiful Setting

Sharon is a doll and so is the cabin, everything was extremely clean which was extremely appreciated considering the times we are living. No surprises here, all is as stated in the description of the cabin and all pictures accurate. It would have been nice to have a TV to watch a "family" movie together....but not necessary. Definitely recommend and would love to go back.

Cabin Stay Dream Come True

This cozy little cabin emerged straight from my dreams. It's the kind of place I read in books. 2 small bedrooms with full size beds. We raised the heat a couple of degrees and soon lowered it, it warms up very quickly. Enjoyed a beautiful early walk down the road with my doggy. Enjoyed a cup of coffee on the porch. The cabin is stunning. We went in the fall and found it so cozy. The two kayaks availble onsite were easily accessible and the lake was gorgeous and only 500 feet away. Lots of games and DVDs to watch as well as a cute little TV and cozy living room. We loved playing cards at the kitchen table.Sharon was also the best host we could’ve asked for. The doors auto-lock and we got stuck outside (entirely our fault), and she was extremely communicative and came quickly to let us back in. I couldn’t recommend a better, cozier cabin experience!

Cozy stay, wonderful owners

This cabin has a distinct feel of being somebody else's home in the best way. It's nothing fancy, but filled with personal and thoughtful touches that makes it feel welcoming and cozy, like visiting a relative's. Paul and Sharon went out of their way to make sure we had anything we might need, both with amenities and gracious advice. They were very responsive and so kind, and especially forgiving of our anxious pup (thank you and sorry, again, guys!). We sincerely enjoyed our stay!

Cozy cabin

We had everything we needed at the cozy cabin. We were surprised with all the skinny dippers on the lake which did not prevent us from kayaking, swimming, and fishing. You could still see the devastation from the floods earlier in July but we were still able to enjoy many hiking trials. We had a nice stay and recommend the cozy cabin for a quiet get away

Quiet little slice of heaven

Our stay could not have been more peaceful, serene, and just overall lovely. Sharon’s cabin is quaint and well-kept and was perfect for our little family (husband, 6-month old, and dog). We enjoyed walking around the lake area, finding nearby hikes to go to, and sitting on the private beach. We did not utilize the kayaks but it’s awesome that she has them to use. We absolutely loved being able to snuggle up on the porch with coffee and a book every morning. This was just what the doctor ordered for us, and Sharon went above and beyond in hosting, responsiveness and kindness. Would 100% recommend staying here!

Perfect Retreat!!

We had a fantastic experience here!! Sharon & Paul were the best hosts we have ever rented from!! They were so attentive & very responsive! They went above K beyond giving us insight in things to do!! Their cabin was well furnished & had all the essentials needed! More than we even realized! We will definitely be coming back! Very relaxing getaway.

The cabin was very peaceful and super clean, didn’t expect it to be sooo immaculate! Sharon was extremely helpful and responsive to questions and suggestions on what could be done in the area for the kids and our dog, we all had a wonderful stay and hated to leave!

Cozy, quiet log cabin by the lake

The log cabin was so cozy! We felt like we were staying at our family’s little cabin getaway. The property was just as Sharon described it. It’s a very nice sized log cabin with a lake view. We sat and enjoyed coffee on the front porch looking at the lake every morning. The lake is a very short walk down a little rocky road. The little beach is tiny but cute. We thoroughly enjoyed the use of the kayaks. The lake is very quiet and calm. A nice size lake to kayak, not too big, not too small. We did not fish, but a nice family was kayaking and fishing and we were told that the fishing was very good. Maybe next time. Our dog Charlie even enjoyed the kayak. Sharon went out of her way to to accommodate our furry family member. To say they’re dog friendly is an understatement. They’re dog loving! The kitchen had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. And on a couple occasions when we did not want to cook for ourselves, Ludlow was the cutest little town nearby for some great drinks and meals. A very short drive from the cabin. Lots to do in the area, but if you’re looking to unwind and relax, the cabin is sufficient enough on its own. We would 100% stay there again.

Stay in Okemo for Presidents day weekend.

Cabin is amazing, very cozy and friendly. Sharon is fantastic owner and caring owner. You will find in the house everything you need for your stay including sharp knives what is very rare in renting houses :). We and our 4 leg baby enjoyed staying in the cabin.

I was born in Bennington Vermont. I am a builder and I take care of this cabin. We enjoy the outdoors. We are easy flexible people who look forward to welcome VRBO folks to our lovely cabin where there are things to do year round from spring garden & fall hiking winter snowshoeing & skiing. Which is why Lake Ninevah is special to us.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Great place for any outdoor fun! Near Okemo mountain & not too far from Killington.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Many outdoors recreations. Great for snowshoeing and skier/boarders. Ice fishing on the lake (permit require) . There are no CELL phone service in the area.

No Internet & WIFI service until 3rd week of June 2022.
