Betty has been very responsive via messages and very accommodating. We had a great stay at her property and if we are ever in VA beach area, we would definitely stay at her residence. Highly recommend this vrbo stay!

Relaxing family weekend

The host was great with communication. The house was comfortable and clean. We were in the area for a wedding at the bay club so it was nice to be close by. The area was very walkable. We walked to a farmers market on Saturday morning and to a restaurant for brunch. The neighborhood is eclectic and honestly at first glance I was concerned about safety, but we never had any problems and the people we encountered on our walks were friendly.

It was great!

Very nice and clean, and the checkout process was super clear. Used it for a wedding 'getting ready', and there was plenty of space for the hair and makeup people, who said it was great for lighting and space!

Beautiful home

All of our needs were met in this beautiful, comfortable home. Beaches were within walking distance and there were plenty of places to explore in the area. A great setting for our family vacation!! Would definitely book again! Thank You

Amazing!!

There truly are not enough stars to rate how wonderful this place is! It is immaculate and well stocked with anything you could ever need and more. Betty was an absolute pleasure to work with, and went overboard to make our stay a wonderful experience. She even put a Christmas tree up, which our three-year-old granddaughter was enthralled with! We will definitely be staying here whenever we are in town! Truly, a blessing to have found this beautiful place!

Great stay! Betty was extremely responsive and checkin process was extremely easy. House is equipped with everything that was needed to be able to settle in and start enjoying right away. Loved the beautiful backyard space as well!

My high school friends and I like to get away and relax so that we can catch up and have a little break from the kiddos. This was a great spot where we could enjoy the bay and the beach. We didn’t have a chance to enjoy the firepit but wish we could have! Definitely recommend for a visit!

Only a short walk to the beach!

My friends and I stayed here for a short weekend get-away. It was a comfortable place with plenty of space for all of us. I had a question about the listing prior to booking and the property manager got back to me very quickly. The beach is only a short walk away (and there were dolphins)!

We had a great short stay. Place was convenient around Norfolk and beach. It was a little time consuming going to williamsburg a couple of times through tunnel. We had a nice stay overall. Beds were comfy. Hostess very accommodating. Would stay again.

Lovely home in great location

Staying at Betty’s home at was a highlight of our trip to Norfolk/Virginia Beach. The home is well kept and nicely laid out. It has everything you need and is within walking distance to the beach. We hope to stay there again in the future!

Such a lovely home!

My family and I really enjoyed our spring break stay at this home! Betty is a great communicator which started way before our arrival! She provided us with everything we needed…she literally thought of everything and I appreciate that. At one point, I was trying to open a pack of bacon and I thought to myself “wonder if there’s scissors” and low & behold…there were! Lol! It’s the little things that excite me! In addition, the house is spotless and we felt pretty comfortable there. I’ll echo what some of the other reviewers have said in terms of the lovely neighbors who spontaneously rev up their car engines…a lot!…obviously that’s not the Betty’s fault but definitely something to be mindful of! Otherwise it was a great stay and I would definitely stay again!

Perfect weekend!

I'm a Norfolk and Ocean View native and had the best time coming back home with my family for a short weekend. Betty's house is so comfortable and clean and we enjoyed the backyard fire-pit very much. We had 6 guests total but it never once felt crowded – perfect! Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Nice place in driving distance to a lot of fun

We had a great stay in this beautiful Norfolk house. The house is setup very well and has a lot of very thoughtful items throughout the house go help with your stay. (Fans in each closet, good soap/shampoo, air mattress) The vents for the a/c are a bit unusual (small holes instead of vents) and this creates a bit of a louder than normal sound as the air passes through it. The area and neighborhood are mostly ok though you drive through a few concerning/run down areas on your way in. We had no issues and it was quiet at night. It is however located within driving distance to a ton of attractions in the area. Overall we had a great experience and great communication with the owner. The house is in excellent shape and is very pleasant to stay in.

Better Than Home

This house is impeccably clean (even the back of the couch had been vaccumed), and the furniture is all quality: no saggy beds or couches. I believe there is a dehumidifier or something installed, because there's no beach-standard damp feeling and associated musty smell anywhere in the house. Things are helpfully labeled in an unobtrusive way. We were originally were a little worried about having the kids walk so far to the beach, especially in the heat of the week we were there, but the walk was mostly shaded, and the kids never complained about the distance.

Super clean, comfy beds + all the amenities

This beautiful house is very comfortable: kitchen is well appointed with all necessities and spacious countertops + bar seating. Large table for gathering, meals, games. All the bedrooms are comfortably sized with great beds. the neighborhood is a bit on the edge--many neighboring homes and apartment buildings are updated but not all. walking distance to the beach but wouldn't walk myself early AM for the sunrise.

Perfect Getaway

This house is relatively new and was perfect for our mini-vacation to the beach. It’s in a great location in a quiet neighborhood near the beach and other shops, museums, and restaurants. The place was spotless and is equipped with all the amenities of home. The host/property manager was gracious and very helpful with all her instructions. Although I didn’t speak with her in person, I could just tell that she is a friendly person just through her emails.

Thank you for a lovely stay!

We stayed over the 4th of July to spend some time with our son who is in the Navy prior to his deployment with our son, daughter and son in law and had a wonderful time. We will forever be thankful for that time together. I do read reviews and take that into account when booking and knowing what to bring, so I wanted to be sure to leave one. The house was clean, the kitchen was much better stocked than expected or stated and the location was very quiet. The lake view was beautiful for watching firework displays. We had planned on doing some baking and grilling out for the 4th and were able to do so. My husband was not a big fan of the grill, (men and their grills) but it served its purpose and we were happy to have one to use. The neighborhood is very quiet, which we really liked. Yes, there is one older house across the street that does have some loud cars, but it really was not an issue and we only heard them a couple times. They were very nice when my husband and son in law met them. I would say do not let this be an issue if you are concerned about another review that mentioned it. Becky was very responsive with my questions prior to booking. We brought our Roku, so we had no concern about cable channels. I really can't say enough about the location, it was so peaceful and very close to base for our son, when he had duty one of the days while we were up. Becky is wonderful to work with, and it is a lovely home. My only suggestions would be, is maybe bring some softer bath towels if you are able and be sure to try The Pacific restaurant in VA Beach. It was amazing! Thank you Becky for a great stay!

Bay Lake Escape-East Ocean View

The house and property definitely rate five stars. The house was impeccably clean and comfortably furnished. The rear garden with firepit was exactly as described. Overall, the neighborhood of East Ocean View has come a looooong way from the collection of seedy/rundown hotels it was when I was a child, growing up a few miles away. I was astonished at how much new construction had been completed and was underway. I only mention this as a compliment to the general quality of the neighborhood. Additionally, the few neighbors we encountered directly were warm and friendly. So, my family felt welcome and safe. We really only had two complaints, and I use "complaints" loosely. We literally did not lose any sleep over these very, very minor, "first world" issues. But one neighbor "apparently" fixes cars for a living and seemingly does so at home. And I'm not sure if his specialty was/is muffler customizations that make for "roaring" engines, but frequently -sometimes well into the night- we were treated to what sounded like race cars coming and/or going as apparent test drives of vehicles he was working on were carried out. It reminded me of the "cherry bombs" friends and I put on our mufflers in high school because we thought that made us seem like "cool" rebels. Who knows? That said, even that neighbor was warm and friendly, and my kids loved meeting his dog! Otherwise, we wouldn't have minded better cable TV options - even basic cable, nothing fancy, so we could have wound down in the evenings with a basic movie/TV show/sporting event. But like I said, these are minor "complaints" and overwhelmingly overshadowed by how nice and comfortable the home was, as well as its access to the highway, beaches, local attractions, etc.
