Notre maison du lac est disponible pour l'automne et l'hiver pour vos retraites ou visiter !!

La saison de chasse au canard va bientôt commencer et notre propriété est parallèle aux stores de canard! Notre quai est parfait pour garer votre bateau.
J'offre un taux d'escompte si vous restez plus de 7 jours!

Notre belle maison au bord du lac a une véranda, salle de loisirs, salon, cuisine entièrement équipée, grand comptoir haute table à manger, 3 grandes chambres et 2 1/2 salles de bains. Nous avons des lits pour 10 personnes avec l'option de lits portables pour quatre personnes supplémentaires. Notre maison a un quai privé pour pêcher. Sortez de la salle de soleil sur une grande terrasse donnant sur une autre petite terrasse avec bain à remous. L'air est tellement pur et il n'y a que le son des oiseaux qui chantent pour rendre votre visite aussi agréable. Vous pourriez même voir un cerf sauvage ou deux.

Notre salle de loisirs récemment rénovée comprend une table de billard, un jeu de fléchettes et un centre multimédia avec une télévision 65 ", un canapé 3 places, deux bascules / fauteuils pivotants et une table de pub avec deux tabourets.

Apportez votre bateau et attachez-le à notre quai, ou utilisez la rampe d'accès publique à proximité de l'eau! Ne manquez pas une occasion incroyable de vous reposer, de vous détendre et de vous ressourcer. Nos amis et notre famille ont tous dit que cet endroit est incroyable. Property was clean and in good location on the lake. Check-in was a little strange with the property owner requiring to meet us and show us the rules before giving us a key or the code. Overall was an OK stay, but it was very hot and the rules on the wall did not allow AC unit to be turned below 74.

Very relaxing

Our experience with this property was great ! I think everyone in our group look forward to coming again. The view was great in fact I fell outside one of the businesses in big sandy and broke 3 ribs so I spent a lot of time enjoying setting in the recliner enjoying it. Margaret was great. We hope to rent it again this summer. The house and surroundings were the most peaceful place.

Second stay!

Wonderful house on the lake, close to town but feels so secluded! The house has everything we need for a long weekend and plenty of space for everyone to spread out, also a nice open concept living and dining area for spending time together! We are repeat customers and will definitely be back again! Beautiful property!

Great Lake House

Fabulous lake house. Fantastic fishing off dock, fire pit, hot tub, pool table and plenty of room for all. Great value for all the activities and room! Owners were so responsive and helpful- even called a neighbor to help start my car. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. Will definitely be back!

There are a lot of steps down to the dock! We are on a bluff- so there will be many steps to the dock, but I saw that you enjoyed the dock everyday, so it must not have been too terrible. You wrote that you loved swimming in the lake in my guest book. I cannot change the number of steps to the dock, but the house itself doesn’t have that many steps. I hope you had a good time otherwise.

We loved the dock, the water, the porch all of it.

It was a great week on the water. The area is very country, just a small town with one little grocery store. The place was lacking a ladder to get onto the dock after swimming so you had to get help in order to get up. Not everyone would be able to do that. The house was very nice and comfortable.

So peaceful and the house has everything you need

One of the reasons we chose the Chaffin home was due to some of the extra amenities, such as pool table and hot tub. Although we didn't get much of a chance to use the hot tub since it was a heat wave while we were there, we definitely made good use of the rec room and pool table. The home is very cozy but has lots of room. I loved spending time in their sun room in the mornings. And of course, we spent alot of time on the lake. We brought our boat and took advantage of the great dock with a nearby boat ramp. There are alot of steps to the dock, but we just planned well so that we didn't have to make too many trips up and down. Margaret was great about communicating with us and answering our questions. While some vrbo's only have the bare minimum when it comes to supplies, the Chaffins have everything you could possibly need. The last evening we were there it cooled off and we got to sit outside and enjoy the back deck and the sound of all the birds. It was a great stay!

Family Down Time

We wanted to get away with our kids and my sister and just unplug for a while. This was the perfect place to do just that. There was plenty of room to spread out and plenty for the kids to do. We played darts, pool, and watched a movie every night. The town nearby has anything you would need. We went hiking at a nearby state park and rented a boat for the day nearby. Margaret has a great set up!! I would definitely recommend.

Well we loved the property. Margaret is wonderful to work with. She’s very upbeat and what hospitality! The home itself had a relaxed vibe. Loved the view from the sun room facing the lake. The little town of Big Sandy has a nice grocery store-Cash Saver. Great prices and owners. Mom and Pops Pizza was delicious. Need ice cream? Homemade baked goods? Go to Adens! Loved that place. And the wildlife refuge you’ve got to stop in and see! Hummingbirds, Bald Eagles we saw sipping coffee on back porch. Wonderful!

Amazing Home

If you are looking for a spacious, clean, well stocked home with a gorgeous view… book this home! My family takes an annual trip for our dad to go fishing. This trip was the best one yet… The house is very clean, the outdoor area is spacious and the hot tub was great after a long day on the lake. The pool table and dart board were a great bonus. We brought our small fishing boat and were able to launch it right down the road (walking distance). The trek down the stairs to the dock from the home is a little long and the “trip” back up can be a little rough on the legs but it’s definitely worth it. Margaret is an amazing host. We hope to return next year!

If you're looking for a sunset view, this is it!

I can't say enough about how great our stay was! The layout of the house was amazing and the kitchen was better stocked and more organized than any rental house I have ever booked before. We enjoyed the hot tub, lake and fire pit and really enjoyed the quiet location and views from the decks. If I had to pick on one thing it would be that there was not a ladder to get up from the water onto the dock and we didn't think to look for this prior to jumping in... hahaha. We made it work, but folks older than us or younger may have issues so plan ahead for that. All in all we would 100% return and recommend this house for a nice getaway!

Great property! May not be for your kiddos, though.

Margaret and her husband were great and super communicative and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. However, we have kids aged 15 and 10 who were not allowed to use the hot tub, so if you’re coming for the hot tub and have kids this property is not for you. Also, when we arrived we were asked not to allow our son to play pool on the pool table, so if you’re coming to allow the kids to use the pool table this property is not for you. Although these factors were a disappointment to us, in all fairness please read the property’s fine print because the host does say to contact her if you will be bringing kids. Excellent property for couples or groups without kids.

Fantastic Lakefront Getaway, Perfect for Family or Friends!!

This great property is very well kept with lots of options for all. If you want to relax and read, you can. If you want to go skiing and boating (boat not included) on the lake, you can, with a boat ramp right next door. The rec room is a great hangout with a pool table, darts and 65" tv with satellite. Kitchen is fully equipped with an open layout and everything you could want to prepare food, including a stand-up waffle maker! Three bedrooms sleep 7-8 comfortably. The master bath is a treat with a jacuzzi tub. The owner met us when we arrived and was very helpful, giving us all the details we needed - so helpful in fact that she gave us her cell phone number in case any questions came up. The town of Big Sandy is quiet, but has a grocery store and two dollar stores. If you're looking for super fancy food, you should bring it with you, but the staples are all available. Just a note that in that area, beer and wine are available at grocery stores, but liquor is not. There are towns in two directions about 20 minutes away that have all the big stores (including liquor) that you may want. This is a fantastic destination. We'd love to come here again and definitely recommend it to friends and family!

Bizarre experience

I have mixed emotions about this trip. The location was lovely. We had a wonderful time with our friends on the lake. There were many kid friendly and not so kid friendly aspects to the home. When we arrived, the owner, Margaret, met us there and walked us through the home for 45 minutes explaining how to do things. She had provided groceries and gifts for the kids. She was very kind on arrival but over the top. I have Never had this experience with rentals in the past. I was trying hard to be polite after driving 3 hours with 2 small children. She also returned to the home on our second day as she had forgotten her medications. The home was jam packed with stuff. The kitchen is a hoarders paradise for cooking family meals. There were many glass pieces/candles/extension outlets that I had to put up away from the kids. Many personal items of the owners were out in the open. There was an insulin vial left in a mini fridge and needle left on the bar counter. My husband and I did all that was asked and written down on multiple instruction sheets. She texted us during our stay to make sure we did things properly. We were asked to bag all our trash which everything under my control was done as asked. I just received a text accusing me of not doing so and stating she "wish(es) I could follow a simple direction". Not only am I offended by her abusive language. I regret spending any money staying in her home. Other than that the beds were horribly uncomfortable.

Thank you for your review. I have no problem with you not staying at my beautiful Lakehouse. I did not come back into the house and bother you- so that was not a truthful statement. There are no personal items in the home- and if you can’t control your children in other people’s homes, wait to travel with them until they are older. Our beds are new and I’ve been told by each guest how comfortable they are, so I will believe them and think that you don’t take responsibility for your guests when renting someone’s home.

beautiful weekend retreat

we had a really nice family weekend with 4 adults and a new baby. LOTS of room and outside area really spacious. The sunsets were amazing.

I was raised in a military family; I am half Norwegian and spent many years in Norway at my Grandmothers home on Ulvøya in Oslo. Growing up on an island has made me always appreciate the beauty of water and the calm good feelings that it brings. I graduated from North Georgia College with a degree in Special Education K-12, and I have worked every aspect of my field since graduating in 1982.
In 1984, I married my husband- an officer in the US NAVY and we celebrated 40 years of marriage this year. His career has taken us many places that have been wonderful to raise our three daughters; and now our oldest daughter is following the family tradition of military service and is a Major in the US ARMY Reserves. Six years ago, we bought this beautiful property! Now it is our hope that you enjoy our beautiful lake house as much as we do!

This home is such a happy place. It is away from noise and pollution. There aren't many neighbors close by, so that keeps it quiet. This home is close to the small town of Big Sandy; it's only about 15 minutes to drive to Camden; 20 minutes to drive to Paris; and 30 minutes to drive to Murray, KY. Even Nashville is relatively close by!

Paris Landing is 23 miles from the house by car, but by boat it is about 6 miles - which would take 18 minutes at 20MPH. We have a dock where you can tie your boat.

For the ladies and gentlemen who enjoy shopping for antiques and collectibles, Murray, KY has several Antique Malls.

For the Gentlemen and Ladies who enjoy Golfing, Paris Landing and Murray, KY both have Public Golf Courses.

There are several places to hike nearby - so that is a fantastic option as well.

We have the most beautiful view. We have games, movies, a hot tub, a pool table, fishing gear- every thing to make your stay relaxing and fun!

This home is newly painted. All furniture is new. It has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry and room for 8 to 12 people. It will be fantastic for a large family or a group of friends; but will also be perfect for a small gathering. You can choose many things to do - watch TV at night, play games, play pool, play darts, or just sit and talk about how much you are enjoying yourselves!

The sunroom is situated on the back of the house so you can sit out and look at the water; or go out on the deck and enjoy a cool drink or a hot coffee and sit and relax and enjoy the songs of the birds.

There are a 4 power outlets outside on the deck, so if you are sitting outside and need to charge your phone - or you want to use our George Foreman Grill, you are able to plug them in and start charging or cooking!

The home is in a safe area away from noise and traffic, but close to small shops and grocery stores plus fuel stations. Murray, KY; Camden, TN; Paris, TN; Jackson,TN; and Nashville, TN are all relatively close by.
