There was a lot going on with all the other rental units and neighbors but everyone was so nice and made us feel welcomed! This place is exactly what it states, shared porch and two bedrooms. We loved walking to the beach and enjoying cape May!
Weather wasnât great, but this house sure was. Plenty of room to spread out. A well stocked kitchen with all the gadgetry needed for meal prep. And the porch was the perfect spot to rest when Mother Nature kept us off the beach.
Really enjoyed our stay at this Cape May property - location was perfect and so were the accommodations. Hosts are wonderful. Will book again for next year.
My parents and I had a great time exploring Cape May for the first time. This house was conveniently located and had everything we needed to a great weekend.
What a fantastic find, just a few minutes form the beach with an amazing kitchen and plenty of space! Absolutely loved this house, already planning our return trip!
Loved our time in Cape May - our VRBO accommodation was excellent. This is our second time staying at this property and we will look to do it again next year.
This offers a wonderful location for easy access to the beach, the promenade, shops, restaurants, coffee shops, the Cape May light house and a gem of a museum- The Harriet Tubman museum! We enjoyed lovely walks daily too.
Thank you.
Nice 1st floor 2 bedroom unit close to everything. Full kitchen, laundry, outdoor hot water shower, 4 beach passes.
Street parking is not bad even on weekends in hot season.
Very good experience overall.
The location of the property is awesome ! However , the beds could definitely be upgraded, terrible sleeping conditions. The floors were extremely cold and not great. (Some foundation issues) The bathroom is tiny- very tight. It served its purpose for our needs. Owner was responsive.
The location was great. There was an odor throughout the unit that smelled like cat & there were cobwebs in both bedrooms. The family staying upstairs were incredibly loud-you could hear every footstep. It was reasonable priced, but overall not a comfortable stay.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Disappointing accommodations
Inconvenient layout; no counter or lighted mirror in bathroom; very dirty front porch; ants in front bedroom; lack of information about dealing with trash; hard to operate many of the blinds.
We had a great stay here. The location is the best! Just a few minutes walking from the beach and from the Washington street with all the restaurants and shops. The house itself is very clean and has everything for a beach vacation. The communication with the property manager was nice and easy! After we came home we realised that we forgot a ton of staff at the rental, and the owner was so nice that he mailed everything to us!! I really appreciated it, it tells you that the owners really care about their guests and will do their best to ensure that the guests are having a nice stay! Some people complained about the parking, but we never had an issue finding one, just follow the parking recommendations on the listing. If I ever come back to Cape May, I will definitely book this property again!
This place was adequate for a three night off season stay, but I wouldn't want to stay there longer in season. It sits on a block of Windsor Street that is "Parking by Permit Only" with no loading zones available. Nearby blocks of Windsor and Congress streets have extremely limited or metered parking as well.
While the owner invested significant money on the kitchen, the rest of the furniture (excluding the TV) look like they came from garage sales. You have to pass through the kitchen and laundry room to get to the one bathroom. While the bathroom was adequate, I would not recommend it for larger people.
The value for the price of this place is poor. When I compare the price of a beachfront Summer Station two bedroom rental that includes linens, housekeeping, parking, and new furniture to the final VRBO price (including fees and cleaning), this place is a MUCH poorer value. We didn't stay at Summer Station because this was a last minute visit and they had no vacancy.
There were some other issues, but I will communicate them to the owner directly as they are hopefully fixable before you choose to rent here.
The location of the unit in Cape May is lovely and the owners are friendly. The check-in and out was easy.
We were traveling with a toddler and had some difficulties with the space that I share not to complain but to improve your idea of the space (particularly if you are a family with kiddos):
- only one of the two bedrooms has a traditional door; the green room has a French door with shades
- French doors also separate this unit/portion of the house from the rest of the house
- it can get noisy when the family upstairs is home, which made it nearly impossible for us to get our babe down for a nap or bed
- bedrooms are on the small side and we had trouble finding a place for the portable crib
Property was better than expected. Impeccably clean. Lots of supplies such as paper towels, hand, dish and laundry soap.
Nick, the owner, was readily available for any issues. The door code was initially tricky but eventually it worked like a charm. Bed was very comfortable, storage for clothes for more than one person would not be great as bedroom furniture was quite old. Bathroom was modern but on the smaller side. Great location, 3 blocks from beach.
This is a clean, old fashioned apartment on a charming street in Cape May. It is perfect for a small family or girls weekend. It is an easy walk to the beach and downtown. The owner was responsive and easy to communicate with. It is on the street only parking, which may be a concern during peak summer season. This was not an issue in September. The outside area could benefit from a good clean up. Overall, this was a pleasant stay in a historical Cape May home!
When we arrived there were piles of sand on the kitchen table and chairs, dust piles in the corner of the kitchen, the place had not been vacuumed and the bathroom had not been wiped down (the shower had clumps of hair and spilled products) and the toilet had not been cleaned. I understand some sand since it's the beach but clearly nothing had been cleaned except the trash was taken out. There was also a moldy/mildew smell in the entrance/ kitchen area. The apartment gave my husband allergies which got better each day soon after getting outside.
There is a curtained door to a shared hallway. It felt a little odd (not very private) but we got used to it and it didn't end up being a big deal. The screened porch is shared. More pictures of the unit and a longer description on the listing would be helpful. Sheets are not provided which i read in a review but did not see in the description.
Parking was a bit stressful. Most of the spaces near the unit are reserved for residents. Sometimes we got a space on the same street, sometimes my husband had to drive around in circles looking for a spot. It ended up working out but wasn't ideal.
Overall the unit worked fine for us but we would not rent here again.
