Loved Our Stay

This was the perfect getaway spot! I could not have been happier with the home and it's proximity to the beach and downtown Manzanita. I really appreciate the responsiveness from the property management as well.

Great location! Quiet neighborhood and quick walk to the beach. Perfect gor our family of 4. The kids enjoyed the Foosball.

Nice little getaway

The place had a nice yard for our dog and was the perfect size for the two of us. Very short walk to the beach on a trail. Very clean as well.

Pros and Cons

Cons: Listing description isn't very accurate. Says it has a "queen bedroom", but it only has a full size bed. Queen bed, is a murphy bed in the living room. Says its "1920 sq ft", but its under a 1000. Says it has a "large" TV but I'd say its small/average by today's standards, and there's something wrong with it. It has seven bright spots on the screen that are pretty distracting. Yard is pretty lack luster, but would be good for dogs I guess. It has a peek-a-boo ocean view, but the windows are so dirty it really ruins it. Didn't get a response to an inquire sent on a Sunday (out of the office?), not really acceptable. Needs a little upkeep, slow drains, dingy rug, lose bathroom faucet... Pros: We didn't do any cooking so I'm not positive, but it seemed well stocked. Lots of towels and pillows. Other than the windows it seemed well cleaned. Location is nice, not close to the restaurants and shops, but in a pretty part of the neighborhood that's quiet and has good beach access. Not on the beach, and up a little bit of a hill, but good for the price. Over all I've stayed in better, but also in a lot worse.

Very comfortable stay

Comfortable bed, nice shower, generally supplied well. Just a quick walk to the beach, and a totally fenced yard with fire pit to enjoy. Quiet and peaceful and relaxing!

Peaceful retreat close to the beach

This place was perfect for what we needed. My boyfriend, our dog, and I stayed for Memorial Day Weekend and loved being so close to the beach, in a safe and quiet part of town. Would stay again.

Great place/location

Great place and very clean and smelled great too! What else? The bathroom is updated and has an amazing shower head settings with digital water temperature display. Very comfortable cozy place with a nice view for sunsets. Definitely would stay here again.

Fun spring getaway

This was a very clean well supplied property. While it is all on one level you have to carry everything down several levels of stairs. I had a key issue and had to call the property management. My first call was not productive but I found a second number on a sign outside and they helped right away. The heater / air conditioner really doesn’t work. I put it up to 88 to get about 2 degrees warmer than outside. This would not work in winter or summer. Overall I had a good stay but it was very chilly in the living room kitchen area. Key box is outdated and rusty and would not close properly.

Well-appointed, peaceful unit!

Loved everything about this place. Modern amenities, comfortable bed, beautiful shower, and lots of light but not too much in the bedroom. Would definitely stay here again.

Weekend Getaway

Really enjoyed this property and our stay. Took us a little bit to figure out the heating in the living room, but we eventually. The shower is definitely the highlight for me. We brought our dog, and it at just perfect. Very cute, clean, and close to the beach.

Great place!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place is clean with nice furniture and a five minute walk from the beach. Great for dogs with a fenced yard and a hose to wash your dog off after a walk on the beach. Having a place to park was very convenient. Warning that there steps down from the parking place to the entrance in case you plan to bring heavy coolers/baggage. The local town is very sweet.

Wonderful getaway

Stayed here two nights over New Year’s Eve. Property was clean, well stocked with towels and kitchen supplies, and was clean. Two easy blocks to the beach. The AC unit in the living room I think might just be AC only but the space heater in the closet kept the whole place nice and toasty. The shower was also amazing. Backyard was fully fenced. Overall a great experience.

Inadequate heat & a poor property manager

Overall, the property was clean and nicely located. My frustration was there was not workable heat in the main kitchen / living area of the unit. I called the property manager about this matter at about 8:00 am the morning after my arrival. I was told “There are wall heater thermostats in every room to control the heat. There's also an A/C installed in the living room that is remote operated”, which the person read directly from the check-in email. Yes, there were wall heaters in the bedroom and in the bathroom, not in the main living area. The remote controlled “A/C” installed in the living room was, in fact, a heat pump (per the manufacture’s label). I was told by the representative that they would send their maintenance person. When he arrived at nearly 3:00 pm, he spent significant time trying to reprogram the remote, telling me a few times that the temperature reading on the device was 80 degrees. I tired of his ineptness and left for a bike ride. When I returned the heat pump still was not working (though, in fairness, the temperature on the remote did say 80 degrees). For the rest of my stay I attempted to heat the main living area by cranking up the wall heaters in the bedroom and bathroom. Not effective. In considering the wording of the check in email, I would not be surprised if the property manager knew that the unit had inadequate heat. Based on my experience I do not recommend the rental or any property managed by Meredith Lodging.

Fantastic vacation

We had an amazing time staying here. The house suited our needs perfectly, and was very cozy. The short walk to the beach was very convenient, and we watched the sunset from there every night.

Enjoyable and comfortable Stay

This unit was a breath of fresh air - it was relaxing and comfortable, close to the beach. Well stocked kitchen. Included a game room and lots of games, puzzles, and more. Very comfortable beds and linens. A worthwhile place to stay.

Review on Communication + Cleanliness

We were able to call anytime with someone who readily answered the phone and was willing to help, but communication through the VRBO app was non-existant. There was mascara stains on the pillow cases, towels still in the dryer from the last renters, and no coffee in the house. Overall, we were happy that we were able to get ahold of someone to answer our questions, but we were dissatisfied with basic communication (as in messaging us the code to get in) and cleanliness.

I couldn't give the property 5 stars because of our check-in situation. We received a call 2.5 hours before check-in, which was supposed to be at 4, saying that we could not check-in until 6pm due to cleaning staff shortage. Given that we were only staying one night, time mattered. We were already at the beach when we were notified, ans we had 6:30 dinner reservations in Cannon Beach, so not being able to check-in and shower was a huge inconvenience. We had to adjust our plans and it was really annoying. The property didn't even offer a discount. House itself was perfect. Very clean, nicely decorated, and really comfortable. Unexpected obstructed ocean view.

Great Family Getaway

Upon arrival we had some difficulty accessing the key because one of the numbers for the code would not clock, but other than that, we had no other issues! The place was clean, had ample seating, designated parking, and is close to the beach. We especially enjoyed the game room and we were grateful for the fenced-in yard to let our dogs off-leash.

This place is exactly what we were looking for, a sweet, safe little home to enjoy the coast in. The property is perfect for dog owners and super close to the beach! Very relaxing and cozy. Would definitely book here again!
