PROS:
The views are outstanding and really made our trip, since the weather was really chilly and windy. The layout is great, tons of bathrooms and very comfy furniture. Great location- steps to the ocean and also close to plenty of takeout spots.
CONS:
The beds are *quite* firm, which we did not enjoy but others may prefer. The linens are provided by a company and they are hospital quality. The towels are awful, scratchy and stiff. Bring your own linens. The cookware has seen better days, and the decor feels a bit dated, but thatâs subjective.
Would we return? Maybe!! The views and the location were so great, but we found the beds pretty uncomfortable.
The lock and layout of the house is great. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired.
The location of the property is awesome! The house is cute but they need to do better with cleaning. We had to wipe cabinets, trim where dust settles and sweep the floor and mop it properly. The carpet needs to be replaced with something that can be scrubbed regularly.
I should have realized when only one review was visible that this was not the property for us. With the pandemic and an approaching wedding I needed a place that would fit our family and this was affordable and available. While the house itself is nice enough although the bedrooms have outdated plumbing, the kitchen views are spectacular and some effort has been made to update the kitchen plumbing and some appliances. The remainder of the house probably needs to be updated as well. The house was NOT clean upon our arrival and when we got there the offices were closed and with family arriving the next morning I found myself at Publix purchasing bleach, gloves, rags, and Mr Clean sponges. Here is what I noted on the card we left on the counter for the cleaning staff:
One toilet was filthy and needed to be sanitized - half bath in the kitchen.
One toilet needed tinkering to flush at all (hallway bathroom downstairs).
Sand and dog hair all over blue couches and need to be vacuumed and rolled with a lint brush
No working light in the kitchen half bath and no lightbulbs to fit the socket anywhere. (We had to use a generic bulb we found downstairs).
No lightbulbs over the sink in the upstairs bedroom bath - we found replacements downstairs and used all of them
Roaches in kithcen cabinets next to the stove/microwave area
Banisters going down the staircase were filthy with years of sweat and dirt and had to be scrubbed down and sanitized.
The coffee pot was filthy and had to be scrubbed. before first use.
Lines were included but no dish towels or wash rags anywhere - so we also purchased those.
Considering how much we paid for the rental and the cleaning fee we expected better. We will not be back at this rental.
On a good note, when I called the rental agency they were very helpful and told me to give them my concerns, write detailed notes on the card and also post online. They also offered to have the cleaning manager come out and clean again but we had family arriving shortly and just did the work ourselves.
Honestly, I am not sure if this was a typical issue or if the house had been empty for a while and had not been cleaned in months.
Regardless, with what we paid this was not acceptable.
