A lovely house in a beautiful, relaxing setting
The property is in a truly idyllic, beautiful setting on a hillside above a valley about 8km from the local town, Torrelavega. On the side of the property where we stayed there are two double bedrooms, one with an extra bed, a shower room/bathroom, a toilet, a living area with a kitchen area, a conservatory and a large outside area with a big table and six chairs. The stairs are a bit narrow, so take care going up and down. There's also a small swimming pool, but it was a bit cold in September to take a dip. The views across the valley are stunning and it's the perfect place to sit and relax in peace and quiet sipping wine and chatting while looking over the valley. The property is accessed by a track and is away from the road, which takes you 4km to the motorway into Torrelavega. Two exits along, at exit 180, there's a massive Carrefour supermarket as well as others, so shopping is easy.
There is a lovely local festival of San Cipriano from the 14th to the 16th September and we enjoyed watching and taking part. It's not near the sea, but you can get there at Santander or any other of the local beaches in half an hour along the motorway. The weather was a bit cloudy for a couple of days with a bit of rain, but four days were lovely, but that's to be expected in that area.
The owner, Judit, lives in the other half of the property as well. She is very friendly and welcoming and she has Shetland ponies, sheep and five greyhounds on her side of the property. All in all, we had a wonderful time and would love to go back at some time in the future.
