Great Location - Spacious House - Some Issues
First the good. The house is located in a gated community with plenty of parking and the house itself is quite spacious, including 3 full bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms (along with an additional pullout couch (which we didn't use). The house comes with access to the Players Club, which has three amazing pools, a magnificent gym, tennis courts etc. Everything about the Players Club is incredible and it is about a 3 minute drive from the house. The house is located within 10 minutes to pretty much every type of store you'd ever need (multiple grocery, pharmacy, Lowes, Staples etc.). It's about 15 - 20 minutes to Marco Island in one direction and 15 - 20 minutes to downtown Naples in the other direction, which was perfect. It also had a pool and hot tub, and a large screen tv (along with a smaller tv in the Master bedroom and an even smaller tv in another bedroom). The beach chairs that are available were also wonderful. The kitchen is very well equipped with pretty much everything you could need and there is lots of storage.
Now the okay. The house is a bit dated. It was not professionally cleaned before we arrived as the owner's daughter had stayed there immediately prior to us. We had to clean the bathrooms again ourselves before we used them. The level of cleanliness became more apparent when we moved to our next house in Naples where it had been professionally cleaned and it was obvious. There were burnt out lightbulbs throughout the house, including the majority of which in the master bathroom which I changed myself. The vacuum barely worked, so cleaning the carpets was a challenge. The owner gave us access to an app which allows you to turn the spa jets off and on and change the temperature of the pool and the spa (which were set to 80 and 102 respectively). However, the owner did not want us to change the temperature of either pool or spa at all, which somewhat defeats the purpose of being given access to the controls. If 80 degrees is suitable for you, you will not have issues. Our kids found it to be cold on some days and it would have been nice to have been able to turn the temperature up a few degrees.
Now the not so okay. The washer and dryer are older and damaged multiple items of our clothes. There are woodpeckers which have at the front of the house on a nightly basis around sundown. If you are trying to put a child to bed in the front bedroom around 730 - 9pm it is a challenge, which involves multiple trips outside to try to scare the birds away. The woodpecker holes are in multiple places throughout the front of the house, so this seems like it would be a long term on going issue. The air conditioning is very loud when it comes on, so much so that it sounds like someone is closing a door - our kids slept through it, but it woke my wife and I up multiple times during the night every night of our stay.
The homeowner was lovely and responsive, especially when strong winds dislodged part of the screened in backyard (he had someone there within 2 days to repair it), and there is a weekly pool service person who comes, and it feels like the landscapers are there every 3 days.
If the house was professionally cleaned, we had the ability to adjust the pool temperature and the woodpecker / air conditioner noise was non-existent, we'd have no complaints at all.
We had to return the gate fob the evening after we checked out and my wife said the house was spotless, so I think the cleanliness situation was just coincidental timing having stayed after the owner's daughter. If you're a heavy sleeper (a/c), aren't putting a kid to bed in the front room (woodpecker) and are good with the pool at 80, you'd be very very happy here.
