Moose Lodge At Clatter Ridge Farm

Une très petite ferme nichée au milieu de partout. Minutes privées et pacifiques, mais situées de restaurant primé, la musique, les arts, le théâtre et la poésie. Seulement 2 heures de New York et Boston, Farmington a le meilleur de tout.
Nous vivons dans une maison séparée sur la propriété. Nous avons porcs dans la forêt et les moutons dans les champs.
Nous nous arrêtons par deux fois par jour pour prendre soin des animaux et les clients peuvent étiqueter le long de le faire "corvées" si elles le souhaitent.

Fun & relaxing family memories

We had a wonderful week at Moose Lodge! The house is large and comfortable, with lots of cozy areas for eating and relaxing together. Beautiful views of the grounds from every window. We enjoyed watching the sheep and pigs, not to mention chipmunks, squirrels, & birds. The fireflies at night were amazing. Very private feel, like we were the only ones around. The hosts were responsive, helpful, and left thoughtful touches for us upon arrival, check in and check out were so easy. Highly recommend!

This turned out to be the perfect place us to stay over the weekend of our nephew's wedding. Along with us were our adult children and grand-daughters, 3 and 6. They and their parents occupied one wing of the house while the rest of us slept upstairs on the other side of the house. It was a welcoming place with more food for all of us and games for the kids than we ever expected. It was charming and comfortable. We loved our stay there.

Lovely home in a beautiful setting

We were delighted to return to Moose Lodge, which is one of our very favorite places to stay. The house is both spacious and cosy, with wonderful views out all the windows. All the furniture is extremely comfortable and everything one could possibly need is provided. Even though the house is nestled in a quiet spot amidst the woods, one can be in Hartford in twenty minutes. We returned to The Wadsworth Atheneum, one of our favorite museums, and also discovered the New Britain Museum of American Art, which is a gem. White Flower Farm was also a pleasure to visit and afterwards we made two stops that Bobbie suggested: at Bantam Bakery for some terrific bread and at Arethusa Dairy for some of the best ice cream we've ever had. All in all, the trip was a joy and we can't wait to return.

Fantastic experience

Bobbie is an incredible host and Moose Lodge is just perfect for a family. We stayed for two weeks and appreciated all her wonderful communication, support during our stay, and thoughtful details. Would stay again at her farm in a heartbeat.

Serenity on the farm

The house was the perfect place for my extended family. There is an oversized family room equipped with toys and games for the children and a quiet living room and screen porch with a gorgeous view for the adults. You’ll never see another house or hear traffic while you enjoy the view or visit with the sheep. Beautiful and peaceful.

Wonderful hosts and property

We loved our stay here for graduation weekend! The hosts were very sweet and responsive, even letting our young daughter pet their animals, and were very responsive and friendly. The house was clean and spacious, and the grounds pretty and serene. Plus we got fresh eggs, milk and English muffins in the fridge at arrival. Highly recommended!

A gem in the woods

This home was so peaceful and comfortable we instantly felt like we were home. We loved the spacious eat-in kitchen and family room and our grandchildren couldn’t get enough of the sheep, sow and goats.

This is a very special place!

Our family booked this home as a place for those of us from out of town to stay while visiting family in the area. The hosts were kind and communicative, doing all they could to make our stay comfortable. There were fresh flowers in the home, wine and clear instructions. There was more than enough space for our families, with plenty of space to spread out. The home is cozy and adorably decorated. So many things to look at - art on the walls, tons of awesome books and antiques. The grounds are stunning with sheep, the cutest pigs ever, and even tapped maple trees. We were there in March and I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the other seasons. Super convenient location. We all absolutely loved this place. So thankful to the hosts for sharing it with the rest of us.

Perfect Weekend!

We had the pleasure of meeting Bobbie and Anne and they are so devoted to this property and giving you a comfortable place to stay. Farm fresh goods were a family favorite and we were touched by their generosity in leaving us beautiful eggs for breakfast. Most of all, we found this to be a perfect respite from the hussle of family wedding activities. We want to come back and explore more. Such a special place.

Well maintained property in a beautiful setting

Quaint, very well equipped and maintained, it’s a fairly spacious house on a large property with picture perfect sheep and wildlife grazing outside of your living room window. As urbanites used to room service and king beds, this was a nice change (more for me and the kids than the wife). Would I prefer a king bed and side table? Yes, but that’s hardly why you stay at a property like this. The owners are friendly, responsive and communicative.

Lovely respite

The property has everything anyone could need. It was perfect for our stay for a family wedding. It was a home away from home. Bobbie and Anne were very helpful when we had questions. The wildlife was spectacular! We saw owls, eagles, and other raptor birds. Sunday morning we saw a coyote! That is in addition to the domesticated animals on the property. There are also lovely trails for walking.

Farmhouse Charm

This property was a hit! A charming farmhouse set on a peaceful, working farm with animals, with all amenities needed for a comfortable stay, in a location close to shops, restaurants, activities, etc.--what more could you ask for? I'm sorry I didn't have the chance to meet the owners, but my nephew and his family did, and had a wonderful conversation about the property and its history. We have family nearby this location, so we are looking forward to returning when we have the next family event.

Lovely and Comfortable Property with Excellent Hosts

Pastures surrounded by woodsy ridges in a peaceful and private setting, yet minutes from town and conveniences. Haven for nature lovers; grazing sheep, lovely pigs and egg-producing chickens. Detailed-to-perfection house with fireplace, screen porch, comfy furniture, nooks & crannies to curl up with a book yet plenty of room. The consummate hosts, available at your request but not hovering, delightful conversationalists with recommendations depending on your interests. In short, it felt like visiting a favorite relative's home.

Updated, well appointed farmhouse perfect for families!

We had the best time at this house! We were a family of 5 traveling to the area to visit family. The farmhouse is even bigger than it appears in the pictures with plenty of space to spread out! It is very clean, well appointed with tons of plush towels, well stocked kitchen and beautiful outdoor area. The hosts are wonderful and stopped by to welcome us and deliver us farm fresh eggs, pancake mix, coffee and juice which was such a nice touch! They also let the kids interact with the animals which was such a special treat! We are frequent VRBO renters and this was the best property we have rented! We plan to visit again soon!

I'm still smiling from the experience

We stayed in the area for a family wedding with our adult daughters, their husbands and our grandson. As soon as you walk in the door, we found the house clean, warm and comforting. There was plenty of room for all and a variety of built-in closets and storage to keep a two year old, and the rest of us, entertained. Bobbie and Anne were more than accommodating. There is plenty to do in the area for all ages. If we travel to that area again, we will be staying at Moose Lodge. Thanks for a memorable weekend.

Great Weekend on the Farm!

We couldn't have asked for a better experience! We were two families traveling from NY and Boston, we found a place to meet in the middle at Moose Lodge. We had 4 children between us, ranging from 1-6, each one of them had a great time! The house is big enough to maintain your space and the Kitchen/Playroom is far enough away to still enjoy the house after the kids went to bed. It was clean and well stocked. The one thing we didn't realize until we were there was that there really are no TV's, this wasn't a problem for us at all it just seemed like it should be noted. There was one that could be hooked up to a firestick I think but I'm not really sure, ask Bobbie if you're interested in booking. Bobbie and Anne couldn't have been friendlier, the kids LOVED feeding the animals and started jumping and screaming when they would show up...however they were not intrusive at all! If we didn't ask them to text us when they came we would have had no idea that they were there. We plan to head back next summer to snuggle some new baby sheep!

Cozy spacious family home

Our family of 6 stayed here over Christmas to visit with relatives in the area. It was a magical place to spend Christmas - beautiful picture window to watch the snow fall and sheep hang out. We LOVED everything about it. We own 2 short term rental properties and we were blown away at the fully stocked kitchen. As it was the holidays, we spent much of our time in the kitchen. I brought a bunch of supplies not knowing what was there, but there was no need. Everything I looked for I found. Communication was effortless. Gold standard for short term rental!

Graduation Weekend

Our family loved our stay at Moose Lodge. House was perfect, ample room to spread out when needed and comfortable family room and living room to relax and spend time together. Wonderful dining room for family dinners. Would definitely stay again. Hosts are wonderful and very easy to communicate with.

A Magical Place

The very definition of peaceful, this working farm is nothing short of magical. You are welcomed to a superbly-appointed home — not a clinical hotel. Or family had a great time visiting with the sheep, piggies and the lovely owners. We’re hope to be back soon!

Wonder place to connect with family

My family and I stayed here last weekend as a place to gather to attend my grandmother’s funeral. Although the reason for the gathering was a somber one, it was really wonderful to have such a cozy, large space for our family to spend time together. It was nice to be able to have separate rooms and bathrooms, but also have the kitchen, dining room, and living room to enjoy meals together and play board games in the evenings. It proved such a wonderful place to connect. The property itself was beautiful and it was really fun to be able to see the sheep, pig and chickens! The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed – and the addition of farm fresh eggs and other things in the fridge was a treat. We also loved having a fire going in the evenings – it really helped create a cozy, comfortable ambiance! We have already talked about wanting to come back at some point for another family reunion, and would recommend to others!

Keeping livestock on the property and renting out the house is all part of trying to get the land to "earn it's keep". I was incredibly lucky to grow up here, and I enjoy sharing this special place with others.
