It's rare to find a place that's both historic and one-of-a-kind. This is the oldest house in Glastonbury (built by John Hollister in 1675) & 1 of the oldest houses in CT. Our quaint home is located on our working farm thatâs been in business for over 130 years - Killam & Bassette Farmstead. Take in a scenic stroll around the fields all the way to the CT River. Perfect for a bachelorette weekend, a large family vacation, or just a quiet getaway. Relax & enjoy!
We were having a 90th bday for our Mom and needed a place for family to stay. We canât say enough about how fabulous this home was, the location, the cleanliness, the special touches inside, absolutely everything and most of all the host family was so kind and easy to communicate with! We will definitely be booking this home again in the future when needed!! Just a wonderful place to stay!!
This is a wonderful property on a working farm. Beautiful location and a historic house that easily fit our family of five. Communication with the host was exceptional.
Staying at a real farm, super comfortable and completely authentic has been a special treat. We walked the farm, ate local produce from their farm stand and enjoyed the atmosphere. We loved it!
Chris (our host) could not have made this weekend visit easier! The house was perfectly situated for our family wedding events and well appointed for the entire family to enjoy. Everyone, from my 18-month old granddaughter to my kids & their spouses to me and my extended family (who are local but visited) was comfortable and happy. We all loved the house - very cool historical spot and included every ease and comfort we could have needed and more) and the yard & farm allowed good fun. Easy walk to S. Glastonbury village and easy access to the Ferry Landing. Highly recommend a weekend or longer!!
The owners really thought of everything. Cozy and private with nice little touches around the house that really makes you feel welcome. Polite and friendly correspondence with the owner, who gave quick replies to any questions we had! Would stay again!
Everything was perfect from initial communication to check out. House is comfortable, well appointed, and even had fresh eggs and jam from the farm. We gathered for a memorial gathering for our mother who passed away and it was the perfect venue to eat, look at old pictures, and visit. Chris and her husband are delightful and welcoming. Highly recommend even in winter!
Absolutely loved this property. Tyron street may be one of the most beautiful streets in America, old farm houses, river ferry, tobacco field and roaring brook leading into Cotton Hollow preserve. My family of five loved the old farm experience! Great restuarunts and coffee were right down the street which was all walkable! We will be back
