Beautiful sunsets and a comfortable, clean, well appointed home! And cute, seemingly very new living room furniture! A perfect place to spend our weekend in Fairhope!
We decided to go on a last-minute trip, and this home was available. It was perfectâquiet, away from downtown, and equipped with a kitchen and washer/dryer. We enjoyed fishing and watching dolphins from the dock.
Great house with stunning views of the bay! Found the house to be clean and as described. All three of the bedrooms are separated with the two larger ones being on opposite sides of the house. The master BR has windows looking out on the bay which offers beautiful views as you wake up. The living room is cozy and has a small sitting area in the front where you can enjoy views of the bay in climate control if itâs too hot outside. There is a large well equipped kitchen and dining area that have good view of the bay as well. The dock was the highlight of the property with a covered area out of sun and an extension in front of this were you can sit in the sun. House was a fairly quick drive to Magnolia Springs and Fairhope which offer great restaurants and shopping. Douglas was very responsive to all my questions and made check in a breeze.
Douglas was great at communicating, was an extremely easy check-in, everything as described, very clean, nice dock. Apprecaited the crab trap and kayaks! Would love to book again. Thank you, Douglas
My family and I really enjoyed staying at the Kayak the Bay. It was very nice, clean, comfortable, and quiet with all the needed amenities. The master suite was very spacious and had an excellent view of the bay. Also had great views from the living and dining rooms. We really enjoyed sitting in the sunroom and on the deck admiring the beautiful bay. The pier was amazing! The host was very pleasant, hospitable, and responsive. We have been staying at bay houses for over 15 years, and this has been one of the best! Looking foward to returning!
I was there just a short time but enjoyed every minute. The dock gave it just that much more of A for me. Sitting on the dock of the bay was very relaxing. Wish I had more time to enjoy the kayaks.
The property was as described, albeit with some minor updates since the pictures were taken. Everything was clean and adequately maintained with one exception of a few dirty plates that were in the cupboard. These were obviously used and probably accidentally placed back in the cupboard instead of being washed first. The house pictures and description indicated a drip coffee maker with a grinder so we packed bean coffee. Only to discover it had been swapped out for a Keurig K cup maker which also required descaling the first morning before it would allow coffee to be made. I assume this was a time based requirement and no big deal to perform once we googled the descaling process. It just wasnât expected on the first morning. There was also no garden hose outside for rinsing things off such as fishing equipment, water toys, etc.The dock is very nice and we spent a lot of time out there fishing, crabbing and watching the sunsets. The dock has an enclosed area which is nice in that it has a sink with running water and provides a place to put things overnight so you donât have to carry stuff back and forth to the house. It also provides shade for the afternoon sun.All in all it is a nice property in a nice location and with only minor inconveniences and we would definitely stay here again.
Celebrating our Mothers 89th Birthday! We all enjoyed our stay. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Mama didnât go out on the pier. Me and my sister did. Got a bit of sun. What made me happy was that they enjoyed themselves!Host Douglas was always available if or when needed! Thank you so much. Hope to come back with my husband!
So enjoyed our stay. Great location. So peaceful and quite and close to downtown Fairhope. Loved the water view in the mornings and sitting on the dock in the evenings. Had everything we could need. Would stay there again for sure.
Would highly recommend this property to anyone. The sunsets are breathtaking, and the location is very peaceful. The home was very nice and had everything we needed. Douglas was so helpful and very responsive. We cant wait to come back.
Overall we had a very nice and relaxing weekend. It was obvious that significant amounts have been spent on repairs and upgrades to the exterior of the property, stairs, decks, boathouse and pier. Unfortunately the interior has been somewhat neglected. Areas of heavy paint chipping, rotten areas around windows, missing sun screen on the north west side bay facing window and broken window sill all need repair. Additionally we were not advised that the A/C was locked at 72 degrees and our guest in the back bedroom found it quite hot and difficult to sleep.
We were very impressed with the property and the whole process went smooth start to finish. I really appreciated all the thoughtful and personal touches and the owner's concern we had everything we needed and we really did and more. Since it was cool when we were there I loved the sun porch with windows you could open and comfy chairs. That was the pups favorite room too as watching the big birds out the windows was a treat for them. Everything was clean, beds comfy, so we were comfortable "living" there all week, tastefully decorated too. The pier was crazy cool and the best one I have experienced. We will definitely be back when it is warmer so we can use it more. Wonderful host! Ten Stars! (don't tell everybody)
This is my 2nd stay at this property. The house is clean and comfortably furnished. The pier is a huge asset and a perfect place for sea bird & sunset viewing! Very convenient location. The host is super responsive and provides everything you could need. I hope to return next year.
We stayed 3 nights. The place was clean. Id give it a 7. The bed in master was too soft and definitely needed new pillows and towels for the bathroom. The 4 days we were there we enjoyed immensely. it was great being on the bay. Douglas was very helpful.
The house was great for our family weekend getaway. It was in a great location and the kids loved being right on the bay. Perfect for a relaxing weekend.
I was born and raised at sea level on the Delaware Bay, my dad steamed blue crabs we caught in the Little River outside Little Creek. Found my way to Colorado with my career and experienced adventures up to 14,000 feet above sea level. I have now made my way back to an adventure that includes blue crabs and salt water without the snow!
With the metro area of Mobile, AL and the city attractions it provides 30 miles away to the North and the Gulf Coast beaches 28 miles to the South we are located on the Bay with herons, gulls cormorants, pelicans, mocking birds and a dark night sky that reveals glories every night. The sunsets off the dock rival any I've seen in my travels and there is the lapping of the bay on the bulkhead at night to rock you into slumber.
