We look for a 3 day fireworks-free stay every 4th of July for the comfort of our dogs. Finding a place that will take two large dogs is difficult. We were happy to find this place not too far from home. It is newly remodeled with a very comfortable bed, and a couple of futons in the living room. One drawback was no fenced yard for the dogs and a lot of stickery dry weeds. I have a single universal remote at home and was unable to figure out the 3 remotes neccessary to watch TV so we did a lot of reading, Im sure if I had contacted the owner she would have been happy to help. The kitchen is woefully under equipped, don"t plan on doing more than frying eggs or using the microwave. There was only one dish towel. The place was clean except we fought ants in the kitchen the entire stay, even though poison spray was provided. The owner said that was seasonal. We wanted a quiet stay with the dogs and that is what we got.
My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay. We liked the privacy and having the feeling of camping. It was also in driving distance to town or the casino. We will certainly try and come back for another fun getaway.
Our stay was essentially what we expected - a relaxing and quiet location with very nice views. It felt almost "off the grid" but close to the areas we wanted to re-explore. And a good value to boot!
The only thing I would complain about is that I am an older Blue Collar man. I'm sure the average person would not have this trouble, but, I did not know how to get into the "CHAT" through my email confirmation. I was expecting a regular email to be sent to me as I was informed " Day Of" with the lock Box code# I had not gotten the WiFi password yet so I had to go back down to the casino and call my wife to help me retrieve the Code# from the reservation format. She had to create an account and get the code. Anyway , it worked out, I was happy with the set up. I just used the place to sleep and went fishing in the day time. The location was awesome and very quite.
Excellent little half house getaway!!! Thank you so much for early check in the first day. Everything was just right. I grew up just up 88 further so it was nice to come âhomeâ and get a property that felt like it. Appreciate it Mickey! Would definitely refer and come back
Clean and plenty of room, quiet setting in nice neighborhood.
We had a family reunion in Pine Grove and always prefer to use HomeAway over a motel, were thankful that Mickey had the perfect place. We had 3 adults and 1 child stayed for 3 nights, I recommend it great location for exploring Gold Country. Cathy
For me it couldn't have worked out better. I wanted some quiet time in the mountains. It was beautiful there. No cars driving by, at night I sat outside and stargazed, couldn't hear a thing. If you're looking for some peace and quiet and like the country this is a good spot. I would highly recommend staying there if you can get an opening.
This was a wonderful getaway for the weekend! It felt remote while we were there but it was easy to get to and close to Pine Glen and other places. There was plenty of space in the unit, with a bedroom, full bathroom, full kitchen, and TV with satellite cable. It was very clean and comfortable inside and there was a nice patio area right outside. And it was great to be able to bring our dogs for a reasonable fee. It was connected to the main house but it felt very private with its own entrance. We would love to stay again!
The best part of this property is that it is very close to Volcano & Pine Grove. If you want to spend time in Jackson or Plymouth there are other options for a "couple." It is in a very wooden resident development and has a great view. Homes are near but not too close. It is a 1 bedroom with only a queen bed. Futons in the large living room make the location ideal for a bigger group. The one bathroom has a tub (with shower head). The kitchen is well stocked with a large stove but only a small hotel type refrigerator/freezer. There is a small grocery store in Pine Grove. Check-in with the lockbox concept was ideal. Plenty of parking.
Cute house tucked in a neighborhood just 10 minutes to town and 20 to the next two winery towns. Spacious living area and outside (not fenced but no real issues for behaved pets). We didnât read clearly on the small kitchen but that was our fault. Still able to make due with just microwave and small fridge but donât plan on full kitchen. Otherwise great spot! Host was very communicative and flexible with our needs.
Me and my husband spent 3 nights here. Every was clean and everything we needed was available. I recommend this property to everyone. Own was on site and very helpful.
