He goes out of his way to make sure youâre taken care of and feel at home. Beautiful quiet property thatâs quiet and relaxing Thanks for everything.
This location was exactly what we were looking for. This property is amazing. Being able to relax on the deck on the ground level or the deck outside the master bed was exactly what we needed. The view of Little Lake Weir was amazing. Will definitely look to stay again! The owner was great to communicate with.
We had a lovely time in February/March this year. The cranes (especially after the chicks came), the geese, ibis, and herons kept us endlessly entertained. Tommy is a very thoughtful host. We hope to stay here again.
Quiet, secure, and peaceful setting. The house was very comfortable with many amenities.
Quiet, secure, and peaceful setting. From the two decks and the screened porch you overlook the lake and a nature lovers setting. We had many sightings of eagle, osprey, sand hill cranes, great blue heron, owls, otters, limpkin, and anhinga. Fishing off the boat house dock was very good (bass). Very nice golf course with reasonable rates is just 10 minutes away and The Villages are only 15 minutes away and offer extensive shopping as well as movies and entertainment.
The house was very comfortable with many amenities. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and the second floor master bedroom offers extraordinary views of the lake as well as its own deck. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and glassware.
The owner (Tommy) was very responsive and made sure we were aware of some of the sights near the house. We also enjoyed his company and learned a lot about the lake and surrounding area. We're coming back next winter !
We really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful lake house. Extremely quiet setting except for the calls and songs of wide variety of birds that add to the ambiance. Tommy Greene is an excellent host and now a good friend. Highly recommend a stay here on your Florida trip. We will definitely be coming back!
We had a lovely time at this property. We like the rural, quiet feel of the house, with horses and cattle across the road. We also like the lake which provides endless entertainment; many different kinds of birds, an occasional seaplane, kayaks, water skiing and jet skis, and of course, lots of fishing boats. Tommy is a terrific host, best weâve ever had in all our VRBO experiences.
This house was beautiful and perfect for our stay. The living spaces were perfect for gathering with a large group, the beds were comfy, and the kitchen was well equipped. There was an eclectic mix of art that was fun to explore and experience.
Thomas was an incredibly gracious and attentive host, by far the best one I have had the pleasure to stay with. Thanks again for opening up your beautiful home to us!
This was our second visit to this property. We had a great time. We came to love all the bird life around the lake. There was a pair of bald eagles nesting in the horse pasture nearby. We saw them every day. The sand cranes, geese, ibis, and herons were daily visitors. Tommy is a charming and gracious host. He took care of issues right away. We hope to come back soon!
Thomas the owner was very nice and very hospitable.
It was so quiet and peaceful we did not want to leave!
We loved all the wildlife and the horses too!
This home on Little Lake Weir is a gem. Tommy was an excellent host; he answered all our questions and gave us some good tips on things to do in the area. As other reviewers have noted this is a quiet spot. Good for bird watching, lake action, walking. Bars and restaurants are a drive away. We had a very good time here and hope to return.
A peaceful visit , with horses in the back field, lots of interesting birds, and a comfortable house. Perfect for Covid distancing, but delightful anytime.
Near Ocala National Forest and Florida Trail hiking trails.
Not the place if you want restaurants and nightlife. But perfect for a quiet getaway.
We had a beautiful wedding at this property and couldnât have asked for a better view. It made for the most amazing location. The owner is very nice and responds in a very timely manner. I absolutely loved this home! 10/10 recommend.
My husband and I spent a wonderful month here at this amazing property. The house is lovely with a great screened-in porch with expansive views of the lake. The kitchen has been nicely renovated with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. And this is all part of a farm with cows and horses. There is even a resident bald eagle and numerous Sandhill cranes showed up every day. The surrounding countryside is also very pretty. For free nightly entertainment and lots of dining choices you can go down to The Villages, which are only 15 minutes away. Walmart and Puplix grocery stores are also nearby. There are also numerous state parks in this part of Florida. We loved it so much we have booked it for next February.

My family has lived on this lake for about one hundred years. My grandparents lived down the lake a bit. I have lived in a summer cottage next door to this property since 1956. There are 2 houses on the old Greene property and I usually stay in a little house that was built in 1970. I moved into it in 1974 when I graduated from college and I have had squatters rights ever since. My parents died in 1995 and left this property to me and my 3 siblings. The man who owned the land next door to the old Greene property sold it in 1999 and my sister and I bought 36 acres. She bought the big house and 11 more acres in 2009. We have about 600 feet all togeher of waterfront now. My sister has given her land to a family trust and I am the trustee. Our family may use the property whenever they choose. No one (but me) likes to come to the lake in the winter. It is most beautiful and peaceful in the winter. I need to rent the house out for the winter months to help defray some of the expenses of keeping the house up. The back portion of the land is leased to our neighbor and he has cattle and horses on it. I am a pharmacist, as was my father and grandfather. I work at a pharmacy in Palm Beach and my permanent home is in Lake Worth, Florida. I was born and raised in Ocala as was my father. I own and manage 10 rentals in Lake Worth. We try to come to the lake one weekend a month to make sure all is well and to rekindle our inner peace. It is and always has been where I come for peace and solitude. I grew up with and still count as friends many of the people who live on the lake. My 93 year old pediatrician lives on our same road. I hope to retire to the lake one day. The Villages was all cattle pasture when I grew up. I am glad to have it there for the close proximity of shopping and entertainment but it is wonderful to get back to the lake.
We bought this property because we have always been the last house at the end of a dead end road and we like it like that! It is absolutely beautiful land with magnificent trees. My parents were always pleased that we lived on the north side of the lake so we don't get glaring sun in the morning or the evening but can appreciate the magnificent sunrises and sunsets without baking. The old Greene property is on SE 132nd place Road. Evensong can be approached from se 132nd Place Road or from 132nd place. We share a beautiful driveway from 132nd place with our neighbors.
Our neighbors bought Evensong at the same time my sister and I bought all of our land in 1999. They decided they wanted to build a new home next door and Sis loved their home and bought it from them. The master bedroom is spectacular. It has a magnificent view of the front lawn, beach and lake. I especially enjoy the balcony off the front of the bedroom. It is particularly peaceful. There is a swing out on that porch and I love to sit and read there. Sis and I were enjoying a glass of wine out there when she first bought the house and accidentally locked ourselves out of the house. We called our neighbor to come let us in and that problem has been resolved. There is also a very nice screened in porch off the living room and dining room. The sunroom and one of the guest bedrooms also open onto this porch. The boathouse has no boat in it but it does have a picnic table, couch and chairs. It is a splendid place for cocktails. It is well protected and I love to see a good rain from out there. In the evening as the sun begins to set we get hundreds of white egrets migrating overhead to their nesting grounds.
