The large lake and sunsets were absolutely amazing. Both the house and the dock were very good. The back screen porch and deck is in need of maintenance but was functional. May stay there again next year.
We enjoyed the property! We appreciated the host adjusting the thermostat due to it being so hot. We appreciate the water being fixed quickly. We had a great stay and we are thankful!
Pros:*Property owners were very responsive to messages. *Beautiful lake property*Ability to dock boat and Jet Ski there*Comfortable home setting*All bedrooms on first floor*Beautiful location for sunsets Cons: *Home needs some updates including a fresh coat of paint. *Parking is tight due to inswing of gate*Yes, you do pay the cleaning fee and must vacuum before you leave. It was simple though. Other: *If you are traveling with someone who has a wheelchair or walker... the garage entrance was the easiest in our experience, no grab bars in tubs so bring a portable one, no easy way to get to lake water with the walker.
The sunsets were beautiful in the evenings. We enjoyed the outdoors and area restaurants. We played foosball and games with our family. Also enjoyed family meals and time in the kitchen. Thank you for the great stay.
We enjoyed staying at this property on Lake Weir. The house was large and comfortable, and the kitchen and supplies were better furnished than any VRBO we have ever rented. The sunsets were amazing! The house has some age, and is still being upgraded, but the major parts of the house were wonderful. Large, well furnished kitchen, upgraded vanities in the two bathrooms, comfortable beds with great linens. We stayed two weeks, and enjoyed the quiet, with occasional squawks from the waterfowl, and a few sounds of motorboats. The deck and porch are well supplied with places to sunbathe, or just sit and enjoy the view. I was a little put off by the fact we were asked to vacuum and take the trash to a recycle facility, which was closed on the day we left. After paying a cleaning fee, these things should be included.
Absolutely amazing!!! The porch was very unsteady and house is somewhat dated but the view is probably the best in the lake!!!! Host was amazing too!!!!
My family and I have been coming to Lake Weir for vacations all of my life. This beautiful spring-fed, sparkling clear lake is perfect for all the things I love to do (boating, swimming, skiing, and my favorite, relaxing on the white sand beach or on a raft floating on the lake). This home is so spacious and beautifully equipped: The sunsets are priceless. We have stayed here for 3 years, and can't imagine not returning every year.
we stayed for a month and so we found things that were in need of repair. we recommend grab bars in both bathroom showers for safety. the hot water needs to be regulated so as not to burn children who might be in the shower. the kitchen chair seats need to be repaired. having said this we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to others.
Came down for one week to get out of the cold in New York and was not disappointed. Had great weather and enjoyed seeing all the nearby entertainment. Beautiful kitchen for cooking with our family and a very comfortable living room. The sunsets were gorgeous. The bathroom door in the master suite needs to be fixed but otherwise no complaints. Would highly recommend. PS. Had dinner twice at Gator Joe's about 5 mi down the road and I would make a point to pay a visit there.
Amazing view of the sunsets! Close to a great restaurant on the lake...the historic Lake Eaton's Beach Sandbar & Steamshack. Well equipped kitchen. The beds were very comfortable!!! Dining room chairs needs to be replaced (upholstery nails popping through/poking legs and bench cushion dirty). Foosball table was a hit!!! Blind mosquitos were bad (swarming) a few days of the week, but other days not bad at all. Lake is beautiful. Sandy bottom, clear water. Do beware of large alligator. Keep small children near you at all times near the water. Overall, great experience. Enjoy!
We booked this quickly after arriving in Florida to find the former house we rented had been sold and we were scammed. We were in desperate need of a home as we were over 1000 miles from home. I was in shock that the home we had rented wasn't available and we had been duped!! The Nyugen family was so helpful to let us stay in there beautiful lake home. VRBO was no help in finding us a new place -- our friend found it as we didn't have internet at the time. We were 30 miles away from our friends, but made it work. This property is just as it is pictured. Beautiful lanai to sit in and watch the sunset, on the lake with a small private beach. Home was clean. Comfy beds. It needs a little tlc, but overall a great vacation home. I would recommend it to anyone. We are so grateful to this family for letting us rent this at the very last minute. We were in a real bind!!!
We completely enjoyed our two-week stay here. The photos accurately show the property, and the views and the sunsets from the living area are especially spectacular. The kitchen had like-new white cabinets, quartz countertops and white tile floors as did the living area. The LR has a two-story vaulted ceiling with a huge stone wall with built-in fireplace. We didn't use the Fp or the game room in the loft. The main bedroom's king-size bed was very comfortable. The two compact bathrooms each had a tub with a shower head. Closet space was generous, especially the main bedroom. The driveway is gated and has a keypad, as does the garage door, and also remote fobs for both. There is a beach club to the left, of this home which only two neighbors used during our stay, and a large tiki hut to the right. The lake water was very clear for bathing, except foa few days when the lake surface developed whitecaps from the wind. We met friendly neighbors during our stay and we visited several horse farms with tours and events in the surrounding and Ocala area, as well as Silver Springs. There are two beachfront restaurants; Eatons (some entries with Cajun seasoning) and Gator Joes, which attracts younger locals.) "The Villages" development, 15 minutes away, has many golf courses and free evening entertainment. The number of people living there has attracted many national restaurant chains (Outback, Panera Bread, etc.) and shopping centers, mostly along Route 27, shown as 441 on our gps.
We are a family of four. Two twin brothers helping their parents manage several family properties in Florida, California, Texas, Arizona, and North Carolina. We love taking care of our guests as best as we can. Welcome to our lakefront home facing west towards some truly memorable sunsets over the water. We hope you enjoy your stay along with your loved ones.
This is the only lake in the area to be sand-bottom. It is safe to swim in because it slowly drops, and if you don't know how to swim, your feet can be your 'GPS' as you feel the bottom of the lake.
All activities are right on the sandy beach and sand-bottom lake. From the living room to the water is about 20 foot steps. You can see your family playing on the beach from the kitchen window. The upstairs balcony and game room also have a great view of the lake. Sit in our screened-in porch, looking out to the lake with a cup of coffee. Forget about the whole world for awhile and get the relaxation you and your family deserve.
