1 day RESET from the CITY life to this quaint secluded cabin in the woods
This place was what my friend and I needed for a quick 1 night get away from the hectic busy city life. Chris was very responsive and worked with me for an early check-in..The description online is 100% accurate. As we drove up,the cabin sits up a incline , although secluded ,we could still see the street from the drive way,we checked in through a key guard system with no issues, its very easy,as we entered the cabin, first thing I noticed is how clean it was and no there were no clutter, not packed with unwanted furniture or any knick knacks, everything has its purpose that was there, moderate living room with a nice size dining table for six,the kitchen had all the amenities and well stocked fridge and everything you can imagine for cooking. .Bedrooms were cleaned and spacious, bathrooms were the same, closets full of blankets and linens..there was a record player downstairs with a fabulous and variety of different genre of music, really brought wonderful memories of growing up to those type of music(it was one of the highlights) . Upstairs there is a t.v but with no cable service but has a dvd and a vcr with tons of movie selections and all types of books galore and there was also a guitar and a wonderful rocking chair with I totally enjoyed,it was very relaxing and soothing(another great highlight)..Outside ,its a wraparound deck so you are able to see all the different animals from all directions.it was long before we saw ton of deer and fawns(the best high light) we also saw one lone big and beautiful rabbit...We had dinner at the Fat lady Cafe , 20 mins drive, they had music inside but we sat on the deck over looking the lake with a beautiful sunset, the food and our waitress were lovely,my only complaint ,i wish they had a fly zapper because there were some flies and got a bit annoying trying to shoo them away and away from the food but I would totally recommend the place for its food , service and views..We really had a great time overall and would 100% recommend the location and Chris's cabin...
Weekend in country
My cousin & his Wife were in from abroad and they were staying in Manhattan with another cousin. He was of the "Woodstock" era so I decided to take them along with my Wife up to Bethel Woods.
We had a great time!! The house was everything that it was billed for. Secluded, open layout, warm, nice sized kitchen... We went to house after Woodstock museum and they had vinyl records of 60-70's (interesting enough some were scratched and that brought back the 70's even more). We listened, sang and played games into the wee hours.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will do it again.
10/10 would recommend
This place was exactly as presented and expected. We loved the open layout and cabin-y but not kitschy at all. Honestly, we're from the midwest and it was so reminiscent of our trips up to the cabin as kids. Magical but comforting. Kitchen is stocked with enough so you only have to bring some fresh ingredients and you've got it made! The bed upstairs is so flippin' comfortable, we loved the view of the surrounding woods (huge deck is good for chasing sun or hiding in the shade!) and the books&game offerings were perfect way to laze away the day. Boyfriend adds "I loved the VHS and all the different areas you could hang out in, loft was my favorite" We walked through the dry creek bed and actually played trivia up the way at the brewery, but still felt hidden away on vacation when we needed to be! Wow this is turning into such a cliche review but it really was exactly what we wanted and needed! lol I would *absolutely* come back.
Everything we needed
In the area for a quick overnight stay. Comfortable, clean accommodations. Easy to communicate with property manager. Had we been able to stay longer, we would have very much enjoyed the board games. Great restaurant recommendation for breakfast nearby too.
Perfect Sylvan Retreat
Exceeded all expectations! Located in beautiful scenic mountains allowing total peace and quiet, we used this as a base to explore the nearby small towns of Narrowsburg, Callicoon, Bethel Woods and Monticello. House has all the amenities you need - appliances, board games, Wi-fi, DVD’s, Lps and 45s, and more. We stayed in August and it was cool at night and very peaceful, not much of mosquitoes which was surprising. Our dog saw a big deer and gave chase the first morning we were there, although he came back empty handed. Wildlife abounds - we saw deer, foxes, an owl, and frogs, plus none of our dogs had a single tick on them after romping about. It is a lovely clean house and a stunningly beautiful location - perfect for day trips. Owner was very accommodating with us and not intrusive, we would love to come back in the future and explore even further.
My husband, parents, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. Everything was super clean, the beds were SO comfortable and the overall property was lovely. We will definitely stay there again when in the area.
