I have now stayed at this cabin twice and plan on it many more times. Everything about the home, location, and town fills my soul to the brim. I fully recommend this house for a wonderful and fulfilling lake vacation!
Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Fishing, kayaking, swimming, and relaxing by fire.
Local UTV rental was fun as well as our evening visits to Moose alley Cones before driving Moose Alley to find a moose-we did see a young bull!
House was clean, lake was fabulous. Well stocked home with all amenities. Prompt answers with the few questions I had. Thank you!!
We had a wonderful time staying at this property. The listing was accurate. The house had everything we needed. The communication between. The owners was wonderful when we experienced a problem. The septic tank backed up we called the owners and they addressed the problem promptly. we would definitely book this property again everything about it was wonderful.
It was a rainy weekend but the house was warm, dry and cozy. The little sunshine we did get, we enjoyed in the beautiful lake and around the fire pit in the backyard. When it rained, there was a huge selection of games to play in the house.
The house, private beach and quiet lake were a perfect combination for our fun weekend getaway. The property manager was always quick to respond to all my questions and even helped us with what we needed while we were there.
Great cozy cabin right on the lake! Perfect for anyone that loves fishing, lake swimming, or any kind of boating (canoeing, paddle-boards included). Super easy access to the water.
Great hiking locally and close by food options if you want to go out for a meal instead of cooking at home.
Very quiet area you can find a lot of peace and quiet here!
Weather wasnât too cooperative for us but enjoyed the fire pit by the lake one night and it was amazing. Be sure to bring your own firewood and fire starter as that is not supplied (but can be found easily super close by too).
We were super lucky and able to see two otters and several loons right from the beach. Husband caught landlocked salmon while fishing and when we were out and about we saw several deer and fox. No moose but we didnât try to hard either.
House had pretty much everything we needed (except food obviously) but no dishwasher. If you have a larger group, house will definitely sleep 10 comfortably, bring paper goods so you donât have to spend so much time cleaning up!
Gorgeous view, property a little run down. Decor not for everyone.
We absolutely loved the location on the beautiful lake with breathtaking views. The house had everything and more for supplies. While I did see pictures online of the trophy animals on the walls, it still didnât prepare us for all of the animal âdecorâ. It was everywhere, in every nook and cranny with pictures on the walls of their âkillsâ and graphic pictures in an album on the table near the Wi-Fi. All of my family are animal lovers and this was quite off-putting. Speaking of the Wi-Fi, donât depend on that. We were able to get on only the first day, and three of us had to rely on otherâs hotspots to check in with our pet and house sitters. Near the end of our trip, we did get a possible solution to get it to work, and it did for awhile, but then was hit or miss. The stove was cracked on one side and one of the burners didnât work. The septic system canât handle 10 people, even if only 3 or 4 showers were taken in a day. It would cause the septic to back up into the yard. There was plenty of room in the beds and bedrooms, although someone mentioned the large king bed on the first floor wasnât comfortable. There was a deck outside, badly in need of stain or paint. There is no shade, so we were happy someone brought an easy-up canopy that fit perfectly on the deck. That being said, we all did have a wonderful time and the lake and view made up for the other things, as our family brought kayaks and floaties and loved sitting on the deck to read, as well as having campfires.
There are 6 adults and 2 kids in our family. The kids loved the "cabin" which is large, really a house. We had plenty of room. The bedroom with all the beds is the loft so it's open to the living room below so our late night shenanigans kept the kids up but they slept well after the first night. There were two private bedrooms also. The fishing wasn't great for us but we sure enjoyed trying. The proximity to the lake couldn't be better. The kids swam even though it rained almost every day. The rain didn't pose a problem because there was plenty of room inside to hang out and catch up on some reading, snacking and drinking the vacation spirits. We will def. go back again. The whole family voted yes before we even left. Bring or buy your own firewood. A couple things to improve: towels need updating, more kitchen towels, hand towels. You can't use the laundry, plan accordingly, the freezer handle was broken and had a unique hinged door that took getting used to and the stove top had to be lit with a lighter. We have a gas stove at home so no problem for us but it could be uncomfortable to some. Could use a little more cupboard space for guests but the under stair shelves worked out. The deck is badly in need of repairs and paint but the aesthetic didn't hinder us. The deep step on deck could be fixed and the slider. All of us had the best time. Be sure to go to Green Acres for English muffin bread and cinnamon buns. The buns are huge and the best we've ever had. We'll be back!
This is a second generation property with a new large cabin that Tom Boucher built himself to accommodate our growing family of 4 kids with grandkids. I am one of Toms daughters and we use the cabin mostly in the fall and winter for hunting, ice fishing, snowmobiling and a family getaway. As a small business owner we unfortunately don't get to use it much in the spring and summer. Its an amazing location, quite and relaxing, we want others to enjoy it when we can't!
