Very sorry to hear of your complaints. We were not aware of these concerns. Most all our guests are there to enjoy the lake, amenities, location, friends/family and not so much critiquing the furniture nor has anyone mentioned our house being grimy, shoddy or run down. We do try to maintain the highest standards of quality for our guests. We show pictures of the rooms/furniture we provide during your stay. We encourage guests to please look at the pictures before booking so you are not disappointed. We are addressing your concerns immediately. Thank you for your feedback.

We take pride in providing a responsive and comfortable experience for our guests, and we are always prompt in addressing any questions or concerns, even before bookings are made. Since our reputation is very important to us, we will address the following review. This guest reported a puddle of water in the basement, which they exaggerated as a "flood." We promptly communicated with them and suggested using some of the provided towels to manage the situation temporarily. Due to the time required to fully resolve the issue, we chose not to disrupt their weekend with a service team. In these types of situations, we encourage our guests to focus on enjoying their stay and not worrying about minor issues that may arise. As a matter of fact, our guests are visiting on a beautiful lake in the summer… This guest also failed to address or provide evidence of other damages they caused, such as a broken key and the issue with the back door. While we strive for guest satisfaction, we must operate as a business and cover repair costs. We charged only a small portion of the damages from their deposit, despite the costs being higher. Our home has been a cherished vacation spot on the lake for almost a decade, and we have built a strong reputation for offering memorable stays. While we occasionally receive less favorable reviews which is a normal fluctuation in hosting, we remain committed to upholding high standards and ensuring a positive experience for all our guests.

Hi Patrick, First of all, we want to apologize if you did not have a wonderful experience as most of our guests do. And thank you for your general feedback. If it’s okay I would like to address some of your concerns. We are appalled to hear that people from the public beach 2 houses down where shouting profanities. In the 30 years my family has owned this home we have never had this happen. Again we are sorry that happened to you and your family. We apologize if you had trouble opening any of the windows in our home. All the inside windows in the house absolutely open including the sliding glass doors. We would never nail any windows or sliding doors shut. The only windows that can be tricky are the ones in the sunroom. You had an issue regarding the home needing updates. In fact, we are constantly doing updates. Since we have been renting for nearly a decade, we are always maintaining and updating the property to offer our guests the best experience we can. On top of our walk throughs; the way we know when to update is usually from reviews, after each guest checks out, or when a guest lets us know that they accidentally caused damage or found something that was broken and in need of repair. And sometimes we don’t see these things before a guest arrives. Like the dent in the wall in the basement. This was from a previous guest letting us know, and now it has been scheduled for repair. Unfortunately sometimes a repair can’t be made until there’s enough time in between guests to repair it. To address your concern directly regarding the basement bar sink, it does work! The bucket under the bar sink is not a bucket, It is a garbage can. From our inspection, yes the sink appears to have a random, minor drip. Thankfully we did not find any sort of water damage or mold from that drip. So thank you for bringing that to our attention and we have addressed that. Lastly, you mentioned one of our chairs and one of our sofas having some wear and tear. Both of those items were already in the process of being repaired or replaced. When repairing or replacing things within the home, unfortunately we are at the mercy of the service provider and their delivery schedules. Of course if those items were potential hazards, they would’ve been removed immediately. In this case they were not. We were a bit taken back by the number of comments you made regarding the cleaning of our home. The house is cleaned and sanitized before and after all visits. Bedding is replaced when stains are found. We apologize if you found the stain before we were able to find and replace it. That truly is embarrassing. We very much appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Furthermore, as we do appreciate you doing your own basic clean up after yourselves, deep cleaning is not something that we ever want our guests to do. Even our cleaning service does not do deep cleanings. That is something that we do ourselves on a regularly scheduled basis. Perhaps our cleaning service on that occasion missed a few things. It can happen and we do apologize. Nevertheless, we did bring your comments to the cleaning service’s attention. Again Patrick, we are very sorry you were unable to enjoy all the amenities that we offer. The only advice that we can suggest to our guests when staying at our cottage home on the lake is to not miss out on campfires, barbecues, big gatherings, and all the cozy spaces. We’re so happy to hear you and your friends had a great time. We’ve never had an complaints regarding neighbors kids playing in the water before. Its a hit or miss when you rent and we unfortunately can’t predict what your weekend lakeside neighbors will be doing during your stay. Sometimes no one is around and sometimes you get families with kids or an all adult group next door. Every week is definitely different. Our neighbors though are very nice people who tend to keep to themselves.
