We loved the spring water and geothermal air system. Great outdoor spaces and secluded. Plenty of water pressure, hot water, and nice cool air, plus a lot of room for 6 of us. We enjoyed trout fishing and cooking them in the fully stocked kitchen!
Very nice secluded cabin. However it was not as close to the river as i thought. I mistakenly thought that the view of the river was in the backyard but it was across a road from the front of the property. Other than that it was as expected. I enjoyed the seclusion.
My family and I were wanting a short weekend getaway somewhere quiet and secluded and this house really fit the bill. We spent a lot of time setting on the back deck enjoying the beautiful view of the Ozarks. We even saw some turkeys! Just a short walk across the road is a very scenic view of the river. Had a great time!
House and location are amazing. Met family members from Montana who had never been to Arkansas and they were very impressed. Rock climbing across the dirt road, canoeing down the White, Ozark Village in Mountain View and Mountain biking at Sylamore. House reminded us of our childhood memories in the mountains! Thank you so much!
This cabin has officially become a tradition for me and my friends! We first stayed here last year and immediately knew we had to come back. Now, itâs our go-to spot for relaxation, great memories, and an escape from everyday life. The cabin is always spotless, cozy, and perfectly stocked with everything we need. Whether weâre sitting by the fire, enjoying the peaceful surroundings, or just unwinding on the porch, it always feels like home. The hosts clearly put a lot of thought into making this place special, and we appreciate it more each time we visit.Weâre already looking forward to next yearâs trip! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect getaway.
Every New Years we look for a unique cabin that's secluded. It's hard to find one that's not a stone's throw to the neighbor. This cabin is very secluded with a lot of character in the cabin and on the property. We enjoyed a short walk to the bluffs for amazing views and photos. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a cabin that sleeps several people, with privacy and amazing views.
Really enjoyed the quietness of this location. It was a little difficult to find but the directions provided by the host helped. Centrally located to a lot of natural areas to explore.
This place is great. Secluded, private, well kept and very relaxing. The beds were pretty decent, kitchen had everything needed to do the basics, the fireplace was AWESOME, and the deck is the perfect place to relax whether itâs coffee in the morning or stargazing at night. My one complaint would be the downstairs room had a bunch of dead lady bugs all over the floor (we understand they get in the house, we are familiar with country living but they could have been swept up). We loved it and itâs close enough to everything, and at the same time out away from everything. We will definitely be back.
My sisters and I enjoyed a weekend in this beautiful and comfortable home. The views from the deck provided much enjoyment. We all needed some peace and quiet. The beds were comfortable and the layout was just right. Right across the road from the stunning Little Hawksbill, convenient to Calico Rock and Mountain View⊠did I mention it was quiet? Our host was responsive and gave clear instructions. We will definitely stay here again.
Beautiful home. Host was very responsive. The property is itâs own destination, hiking, cave, waterfall, etc. We didnât want to leave. We will definitely come again, maybe to see the fall colors. One recommendation to future guests, dry county, pick up your beverages before you enter the county.
Picture #24 indicates this is at least on the property. It is NOT a 30 second walk. It's a 10-15 walk for a good walker. Older folks would need to drive or allow much longer. The place was comfortable.
We enjoyed this property! Very roomy. Beautiful view from the back deck. Loved the kitchen and the fact that it had all cookware we needed. The only downfall was the temperature. Even after adjusting the thermostats, it would not get below 74-75 all day in the house until between 3am and 6am. We purchased a baby gate for the bottom of the stairs and left it in the laundry closet. It kept our littles from climbing the stairs.
The stereo over the fireplace connects via Bluetooth to your phone so you can play music. Over all great property with a great view.
The way the Cabin was listed our perception was different. We expected River view. Also no cable available. The tv service was down. We plan in watching movies on tv and relax but was impossible. Was just not what we planned. But everything else was great.
We stayed here a year or so ago and had such a great time that we came back this year. The home is extremely cozy with lots of privacy and land to explore if you have dogs. We brought ours and they had a great time exploring the property. There is very little traffic, so we didn't need to worry about them running out in front of cars or trucks. We only had a couple of nights free from work this year but we hiked Blanchard Springs state park on both days and the dogs had a blast playing in North Sylamore Creek. The grill and patio was perfect for grilling steaks and lounging each evening with a great view. I'm not sure what mattress Steve uses for the master bedroom (memory foam?), but as someone who suffers from horrible insomnia, I slept the best that I've slept in almost a year! The wood burning fireplace was very romantic and luckily it was chilly enough on both evenings for us to justify making one. It was so relaxing and lulled us both to sleep on both nights to where it was everything we could do to muster up the energy to go upstairs and crawl in bed. In short, we had a wonderful time and are already planning another return trip this fall if Steve will have us! As someone who grew up hiking in this area and has visited frequently over the year, staying at various cabin/homes, give this one a shot if you are planning a trip to the area because it's hard to find better.
My name is Steve Alford. I have lived in Memphis all my life but have always had a presence in Arkansas. I have spent many days on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs. I fell in love with Northwest Arkansas and would ride my motorcycle in the area a couple of times a year. I also made a yearly cabin trip to the area in the fall. That is where I saw and fell in love with House on the Rock.
Most guests have fun just exploring the property and it's unique features. Enjoy the Rock Bluff and Cave on the property. The elevated screened patio has two doggy doors and a beautiful view of the property. While there is not direct access to the river, directly across the street are the White River views and City Rock Bluff, one of the most photographed places in Arkansas. It is a one minute walk from the property.
