This cabin was even better than expected and the private deck and waterfront were great features. The owner was very responsive and made the whole stay effortless. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time at the Lygeo Lodge! Although the exterior facing the lake looks a bit rough, the interior is absolutely charming - just like the cottages in Wisconsin we grew up with. We spent a lot of time enjoying the view from the living room window. The setting is lovely. It was too cold to use the "patio" over the boathouse, but we did brave the dock for a sunset glass of wine, and made a fire in the fire pit one evening. We saw the northern lights! Although it is very quiet and private, it is short drive to Glen Arbor and Sleeping Bear Dunes. And, there is a fabulous French restaurant right down the street! We loved our stay and hope to return next year.
This is the third time we have stayed at one of the cabins on Glen Lake. We love the quiet atmosphere, beautiful cabins, and amazing views. Dog friendly is an understatementâŠlots of property to explore and enjoy.
Thank you Jodie
Beautiful views, great deck, dock, and front porch.
Like the rustic cabin, but it isn't well maintained. Oven didn't work, kitchen is poorly equipped. Wouldn't want to be staying here if the weather wasn't fine. . .
Our third time renting a cabin at McCormick Place. Beautiful location, perfect cabin retreat. Property manager is prompt to reply and extremely helpful!
Owner needs to warn renters not to run more than 2 things at a time in the kitchen due to blowing a fuse.
Buy new throw rugs for the kitchen and bathroom.
Great place to stay and chill. Awesome rustic cabin.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. Cabin is very rustic.
There is a wood fire place that that the previous renters used and cabin smelled pretty smoky. No dishwasher so kind of a bummer to have tomorrow wash the dishes.
With all of that being said, the view is spectacular đ Nice to sit outside and watch the sunset.
Tho the cabin is your basic, rustic cabin, it provided a most enjoyable escape. The views were fabulous! Great, convenient location. It was a comfortable little cabin with all one needs to escspe!
Family had a great stay! Wonderful deck overlooking Glen Lake. Located close to Sleeping Bear Dunes, kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Responsive host with fun suggestions for family fun. And pet friendly!
We loved our stay! Canât beat the location or the view, the quaint cottage was all we needed. Our kids (4 and 2) loved the shallow lake and grassy area to play. Having a washer and dryer was so nice as well. The only thing I would change would be bigger beds, but impossible with small rooms!
Loved the proximity to the lake. The lake is shallow and warm and the children oved to play in it. The sunsets were amazing. The property manager had great communication and was extremely responsive.
Glen Lake out the front door! Nothing could be better. We loved our stay. The cottage is rustic and comfortable and the screened in porch is a real bonus when the bugs come out at night! Tiny kitchen but still useable for cooking. No TV but who wants to watch TV when you are on a lake. We spent most of our waking moments outside. The lake water was even warm enough for swimming this early in the season.
Our first time in Michigan was a trip to remember. Hiking the Parks (Sleeping Bear Dunes and others), kayaking the lakes and rivers (Glen Lake, Crystal River), riding the bike trails (Heritage and Leelanu), enjoying the small towns (Glen Haven/Arbor, Empire and others), the beaches (Esch was the bees knees), the Pierce Stocking Drive for best sunsets ever, and the food (Cherry House, Funeistrada, and Shipwrecked Cafe).
The cabin and our host Jodie were also a treat. Leygo is a cabin from 1949 and itâs quaint and lovely. It served us well as a home base to come back to after our adventures and unwind after the day. The private deck overlooking the lake was our favorite. Taking in the view of the turquoise blue water while playing cards and enjoying a beverage after a cooling swim was the best. Sunsets were amazing. Weâll definitely be back again.
Only thing weâd change would be a bed upgrade. Sleeping together on a full size bed that was far past itâs prime was a little challenging. Cram a new queen size bed in one or both rooms and this place would be perfect. Thank you again Jodie weâve been talking about our stay since we left.
Beautiful âclassicâ cottage in an amazing location
Exactly as advertised, quaint and charming. We had a small issue with the power going out in the kitchen, but the owner got it fixed right away. Could use a bit of updating, but overall a great value for the location!
The direct access and private dock on Glen Lake, and proximity to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Glen Arbor were amazing. We used the water everyday. And the private deck was wonderful for meals.
The cabin is a 70 year old cabin. So just keep that in mind. The decor is straightforward, but had what we needed. No A/C or TV but except for one really humid night neither of those things were missed.
Had an absolutely wonderful week here! For those looking, it is a truly rustic cabin with cool historic artifacts. Really well stocked kitchen and all the amenties you could need for a getaway with the most amazing sunsets.
Jodie was awesome....communication was great and she answered any questions promptly.
I've been staying in these cottages for 21 years now. We've rented all three of the cottages and they all have something special. The last 4-5 years we've rented the Front Cottage and have really loved the view of the Lake from the screened in porch, the dining table and our bedroom. It is "rustic", it is also one of the historical cottages on Glen Lake so we prefer the term authentic. We enjoy layinf on and swimming off of the dock, going kayaking, boating anf tubing and in the past sailing. This is truly the most beautiful Lake and these cottages are a great way to enjoy it. Always clean and Jidie is beyond helpful if you need anything!! We already have our two weeks reserved for next year!
It is also a great location to explore Leelanau County from...Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear dunes, Fishtown in Leland, awesome hot dogs from Pleva's in Cedar, many access points/beaches to Lake Michigan, National Heritage trail for walking/running/biking, lots of wineries, and some of our favorite restaurants Market 22 and Little Traverse Inn in Maple Citu and Good Harbor Grill and Art's Bar in Glen Arbor.
A wonderful base to explore Sleeping Bear Dunes and surrounding countryside - if you can tear yourself away from the quaint cottage and stunning Glen Lake. It was our first time in the area. The Front Cottage is just beautiful, and suited us + dog perfectly. We cooked in every night, enjoying dinner on the deck,as nowhere else could afford us such amazing sunsets and tranquility. Morning coffee by the lake was also memorable. We had marvelous weather, but even if it had rained, we would not have complained, as there is an open fire and the cottage is just so cozy. We will be back!
