Bob was an excellent and responsive host and the home and pool were great. Our grandkids spent a lot of time enjoying the pool and riding bikes in the safe and quiet neighborhood. Location is convenient to Marathon, Key West, and Islamorada. No negatives. We would definitely stay there again!!
We loved the property on Duck Key! The house was very comfortable and felt secluded with the tropical landscaping. We especially enjoyed the porches and the pool! Duck Key was quiet, relaxing and great for bike riding and viewing sunsets. The location was convenient for sightseeing the Keys.
My family and I spent January in this beautiful home. With a private pool and beautiful gardens, large and open concept living area, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, this home is tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you need for a wonderful stay. The host, Bob, is friendly and readily available to help if needed. We enjoyed being within walking distance of the Tuesday market and the dolphin centre and within driving distance of shops and restaurants in Marathon. Highly recommended by us all.
Bob Colbert is an absolutely fantastic host! Anytime I reached out to him by text, he was back to me within a few minutes!
The property was pristine, clean, and spotless! Everything we could possibly need was on the premises. During the month that we stayed there, the pool was maintained once a week, cleaning service came halfway through our stay, and was available anytime we needed it, and the gardeners came twice to keep the property in tiptop shape.
Both my wife and myself, and the rest of the family could not come up with one single fault that we found in our stay.
We have been visiting duck key for over 30 years as we have family that lives on the island. Renting this house was by far the best experience weâve ever had. We certainly will do it again next year!
Thanks Bob for your hospitality!
Bob couldnât have been a better host. He contacted us before the stay by phone to give us information about the house and surroundings and also shared ideas on the best things to do and places to eat. If we had questions during the stay, he was just a text message away. The property is beautiful and the landscaping makes you feel like you are in a private lush tropical setting. The house was very well set up for entertaining with lots of kitchen equipment and seating for a crowd.
The pool too is lovely. While we didnât use it to swim, we enjoyed sitting poolside to relax and read. There is lots of furniture on the pool deck and the upstairs decks too.
There is a Farmers Market on Tuesdays a two-block walk away. Definitely donât miss that. Great produce and other interesting items.
Absolutely Spectacular â 100% Recommended â Great for Home Office AND ADVENTURE
We stayed 4 weeks at Bob's property and really did not want to leave.
And after we left to another place in Tavernier, we wanted to drive back every day.
The house is massive and there is so much space for everyone, so people don't start annoying each other. I was there with my wife and friends.
It's super well designed, tastefully decorated, and well equipped so you don't really need to bring anything, even for a long stay.
Nice covered parking, the pool (though small) is a welcome Oasis for tanning and cooling down.
We were doing home-office all the white and internet and spacing was great for that. Kitchen very well equipped.
Garden is well done, you feel like you are in a djungle alone on the island, don't see too many people and houses, hardly any noise from the few neighbors.
Only slight drawbacks (which you'll get over) is that the house has no direct water access to the canals (or water views).
Also the washer dryer are very loud and located just right between the bedrooms or and the living room, so you kind of have to do laundry while you are out for convenience. Sorry Bob, maybe time go get a couple of quieter machines? But we are super noise sensitive, other people may not mind.
Since we stayed for four weeks and it is a big house, there were one or two instances where we had to get someone to fix some stuff and Bob was always 100% on point and got someone to fix things asap. Bob was always kind and courteous and quick to respond to any request, so he was a great host as well.
In terms of location, Duck Key itself isn't that interesting with only the Hawks Cay resort, not recommended, DON'T go to Angler and Ale, the Dolpin Connection (Recommended) and SOle Watersports for Kayak, Snorkle Tours etc. (also recommended).
We still liked the location because it was quiet and we used it as a strategic place to then do all our adventure trips throughout the keys: Whether it'd be Key West and Dry Tortugas 1h30m drive, or getting Scuba Certified in Islamorada 30m drive, or doing a little plane ride out of Marathon 15m drive.
Marathon itself has the Acquarium Encounters also good and the Turtle Hospital and all major conveniences if you need them (Publix!)
So if you want to explore the whole of the keys and not just a specific place, Duck Key is actually quite good. And despite the lack of water access, Bob's place never gets old !
It was a lovely home, very spacious. Great heated pool, nice outdoor space. Beautiful landscaping well tended. Nice area for walking or running. Enjoyed the farmers' market on Tuesdays. Great food. The house was close to beaches, shopping and restaurants.
Amazing layout fully stocked with everything and more. Great kitchen, pool and porches. Furniture and bedding was superb. Owner was always in contact and communicated very well. Would stay and share this family vacation home again anytime. Thank you, The Williamson Family.
Every aspect of this home is top notch. The location is on a quiet street in secluded Duck Key. The house is immaculate and every detail is perfect. We enjoyed quiet mornings doing yoga on the beautiful pool patio, days in the pool-which is not too sunny and not too shadyâand evenings on the front porch rockers. The amenities are luxurious and the landscaping spectacular. Highly recommend for those looking to get off the beaten path in the Keys. Nothing beats those blue waters to restore and recharge!!
Our family was fortunate enough to stay for about a month. Homeowner was very helpful and responsive. House is simply beautiful-every comfort, clean, and great location. We enjoyed exploring Duck Key and the surrounding areas. We created life-long memories. Thank you!
The owners are great. Very attentive and helpful in every way. A wonderfully relaxing place to stay in Duck Key. We would HIGHLY recommend this property.
We started coming to the area in 2010 . We kept on coming back to Duck Key time and again. It is so peaceful and private. Yet, only minutes to everything the Keys has to offer. Key Largo is an hour north, and Key west is an hour south. The fishing and lobstering are the best anywhere!
Front and rear balcony's. Sit in the rocking chairs and enjoy the tropical weather. Sit buy the pool while barbecuing your catch from earlier that day.
