The condo was just as described. Clean and well organized. Plenty of room (4 of us, but 6 would be fine). The condo association staff were wonderful, as well, from the front desk to the shuttle drivers and the gate house crew.
Our family had a wonderful time here. Great view from the balcony, spacious living quarters. Easy to get to and very friendly staff at desk and shuttles.
What a beautiful home. Everything was clean and ready for us. It was very well equipped and lovingly decorated. What a view. This is the second time my wife and I have been to Sugartop and we absolutely love it.
We stayed here during peak ski season, so please keep that in mind when reading this review. Plan ahead. Check in and out is a bit of a cluster. Thereâs only a few available parking spots out front to load/unload, so they only let up a few cars at a time and the remote parking is down the mountain 1/2 mile or so. The staff were friendly and helpful, but seemed overwhelmed with the weekend traffic. The hot tub was warm, the sauna was hit or miss and the steam room was out of order. The trash chutes were closed off as well, so all trash had to be brought down to the first floor and thrown in the dumpsters behind the complex. Overall, the property was as described, but I would be hesitant to stay here again.
Overall, we had a nice stay at this condo. While the condo is nice, it could probably be cleaned a little bit more thoroughly. We found objects and trash under several pieces of furniture. We enjoyed the resort's pool and hot tub.
This property has recently received a complete update and renovation. The owners did a fantastic job bringing it up to date and making everything comfortable and convenient. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture, plush linens and even soft comfy throw blankets. We have stayed in a few different units at Sugar Top and this is our new favorite.
Condo was clean and well put together. Parking was awkward but was fine when we worked it out. Clinton and his wife answered promptly when called to solve a problem. Would rent from again!!
I've stayed at SugarTop several times and this unit is the most up-to-date and cleanest I've stayed in. Very spacious and cozy. Beautiful mountain views from the unit on clear days. Everything you need is onsite, plus extras. No issues at check-in, everything was just as described. Although parking on the lower lot is somewhat inconvenient, it's not horrible if you know what to expect before you go. Pool, hot tub etc were great for the kids! Friendly staff at the front desk and convenient location for tubing at Sugar Mtn. Would definitely book this property again in the future!
When called to check with front desk, they said the correct switch was turned on- Finally, after the third call, they sent the maintenance man and it had never been turned on- It could have been fine; but this ruined it for us!!
I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the property or the accommodations. It's a great location and there's a pool and hot tub it's great for kids and the apartment is newly renovated very comfortable and well appointed. And everything that the hosts have listed is accurate according to the apartment. The condominiums are welcomed and neighbors who live there are very friendly and accommodating for weekend visitors.
Do keep in mind if you stay there there is no parking directly on site. It's a little bit inconvenient because you have to take a shuttle from a parking lot up to the condominium complex. It makes going out at night less convenient if you have to pick something up at the store et cetera. But they do call for a shuttle for you from the front desk and from there it's only about 5 minutes to your car. But still not the most convenient. The front desk attendant told us that they only do that at high peak times so the shuttle is not a necessity year round apparently. Our hosts were wonderful, accommodating, and answered all of our questions!
The inside unit was clean and fit all our needs there, instructions were good, and kitchen and linens were well supplied. We decided on this unit for the views and that got interrupted constantly by a painting project going on at the building. For 4 days we had painters actually on the balcony scraping, painting and going up and down the building on their platform. We had to close our curtains so we had no one looking in on us. The owner said they were not supposed to be doing the work July 4th week and so it was out of their control. I asked for at least one nights refund for our inconvenience but they said it was out of their control. With all the fees tact on it was nearly $200.00 a night. One night would have been a kind gesture but did not happen. I would rate their response as poor.
Overall we were very pleased with the stay and would stay there again. This was our first time skiing and didn't know what to expect. Transportation was a challenge from the parking lot or the Ski Lodge and back to the Resort and vice versa but we know what to expect next time.
This condo is a very good inexpensive option, but it has not been renovated..
We plan to stay here again because the price is low and we just wanted a place to sleep. While this unit is not for everyone, it was a great bargain and met our needs well. On the up side, the slopes are just 8 minutes away, the view is great, the condo pool, hot tub and amenities are good, the bed was comfortable and the unit was clean. However, if you are looking for a renovated high-class experience, you will need to pay more elsewhere. This unit has original (I guess 25 year old) everything, has minor broken furniture parts, stains in the carpet, some water damaged sheetrock and is in need of fresh paint. The antiquated microwave is so small that a full sized plate will not fit. It does not have dedicated WiFi in the unit and the guest signal is spotty at best. My Version phone had sufficient signal to provide a hotspot for my laptop, so that was a non-issue.
The property serves our purpose and the owner was top notch at response time and general friendliness. Parking is as fine as the shuttle wasnât running which allowed us to park really close! Did not know about the bus to the alopes until late. Property (in general including amenities) was somewhat in need of an update but for the price , the view and the convenience were above and beyond.
Stunning construction and views atop Sugar Mountain, NC. Many amenities that other properties in the area do not have. Convenient to food, shopping and fun.
