Great house! Lovely, private location with beautiful views and great proximity to both the bay and the gulf. Drinking coffee on the back deck was very pleasant, as was sitting on the porch and relaxing. The owner was very helpful and communicative. Highly recommend this place!
I love the area and this is the first time I've stayed at Alligator Point. The stairs are a bit rough to go up and down if you're not in good shape. I'm in pretty good shape but a little rough. Bay view is beautiful with closed in sun room. Literally lived on the porch due to rain. I would run across the street to the beach in-between showers. I love this end of the point. Well decorated, clean and comfortable.
We had a delightful time during our stay. Linda is a wonderful host, very quick to respond. The kitchen was well equipped, which is a must for our family. Sitting on the enclosed porch, enjoying our coffee, watching the cranes and blue herons in the pond below, was a real treat.
My only requestâŠthe outside lift/butler was not in service. It would have been very helpful with unloading upon arrival. Same on load out. There are LOTS of stairs. Hauling luggage, groceries and anything else for a holiday gathering was a bit daunting with elderly parents.
That did not stop us! We had a great time and look forward to spending more time in Alligator Point. Itâs truly a special place!
Beautiful setting with a wonderful view of the bay, Five species of egrets, six porpoises, ospreys, clapper rails, and a first-ever sighting of a diamond-backed terrapin. Lovely home, attentive host; we definitely would like to come back
Our family wanted to go to the beach and were concerned with crowds. This was the perfect place to get away. The beach was so quiet and only a few people keeping their distance so it was easy to relax. The pictures on the rental site are exactly what you get. We walked in the first day and you could immediately relax knowing that it was cleaned well - you could see and smell how clean. The bay was beautiful with a magnificent sunrise every morning and sunsets on the beach.
You can see the ocean from the bedroom, living room and kitchen windows and was a quick 2 minute walk to the beach.
Fishing off the beach was great! You will definitely will be happy here.
Owners were very accomodating and helpful with any questions/suggestions during our stay. Very local community, closest walmart is 30 minutes away but we loved the secluded aspect. Awesome place to destress and enjoy the beach!
This is the spot for a quiet and relaxing getaway. The house is complete with everything you'll want including great views of and access to both bay and gulf.
My wife, two (10 and 13) sons, our puppy (Chester), and I are so glad we found this home to rent. The home is filled with the feeling of comfort and calm. The bedrooms, lounging and eating spaces are all incredible. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the views from the windows are breathtaking. The bathrooms are clean and conveniently located, with plenty of towels and great water pressure in the showers. We enjoyed making and eating meals together, sitting in the dinning nook, looking out over the bay. I love grilling, and while I am a charcoal guy, the wonderfully well kept gas grill on the back deck overlooking the bay, has almost converted me!
My family and I often took the short walk on the dock to the bay, and enjoyed fishing or playing on the small beach close to the house; and when it was time for the real waves, we would walk across the street to the Gulf of Mexico! When we were a little restless, we would go into Panacea (what a name) -- and have a lovely meal, as fancy or as casual as we liked (we chose casual). There is a place to pick up grocery in Panacea, and there is also a great little spirits store, Two Blondes, where the cashiers are super friendly and are willing to give good advice on everything from family-fun outings to great fishing spots.
In short -- if you have been stressing out at work (as we had) and your kids are sick and tired of being sick and tired of school work (and ours were) and your puppy is being....well, a puppy; do yourself a favor and get away to this quiet, rustic comfortable space where you will feel as thought you have returned to a place you somehow forgot existed...but you'll never forget again!
Linda is charming and very easy to work with. Her attention to detail, and care for her home and her guest shows in aspect of this remarkable place.
Thank you Linda!
Cheers.
We recently rented this house. We were not disappointed. The house is beautiful! You have the best of both worlds here. The bay in the front and the ocean just short walk away. The home has a very nice lay out with bedrooms on the opposite ends for privacy. The kitchen has everything that you could possible need plus more. The appliances were up to date and clean. The bay in the front has just enough beach area during low tide to walk around, lay out, collect shells, fish etc. We caught our own blue crab with the two nets left at the house. The beach area is perfect, secluded, you almost feel like you are on a small island. We had two teenagers and two dogs with us. The dogs were very comfortable in the area and we felt safe letting them run out and about. We took them to the beach and let them roam on the bay side. I sat on the deck and watched dolphins every single morning that we stayed. We also watched dolphins from the gulf side. You can see the gulf from the kitchen window. The views from this house are spectacular. We collected beautiful shells in the marsh several times right next to the neighbors dock. Water shoes are a must have in this area. The grass, concrete and marsh areas can be hard on your feet. We also used the outdoor shower a few times. We really didn't use the downstairs patio area much due to the humidity but my hubs and I did nap briefly in the hammock. The screened in porch upstairs is very nice. Florida has Texas size bugs at night. We tried to keep most of the lights out if we wanted to be on the porch. We felt safe and there are plenty of lights all around if you choose to use them. The Tiki Hut is just a few blocks down the road at the marina. We bought fresh seafood to cook ourselves in town and found a couple of restaurants that we enjoyed as well. We had planned on doing some sightseeing in the area but we were so content, we never left longer than to get supplies from Crum's and the Dollar General. We have every intention in returning next year. Linda was very easy to work with. What are you waiting for...............book it!
This place is great - like Florida beach houses used to be many years ago. It's located toward the end of Alligator Point near the bird sanctuary. Lots of squirrels and birds on the bird feeder to watch. We saw eagles, ospreys flying over and a great blue heron hung out in front of the house every day. The kids delighted in the all the crabs and set the crab trap the owners let us use. Not only did we catch fish, but crabs, too.
The kids played in the shallow water right in front of the house while my wife laid on the beach. We explored and collected tons of shells walking down the beach of the gated bird sanctuary. It was deserted except for us. when we anted to walk the Gulf side, we just walked across the road and walked that beach, too. Bay and gulf - the best of both worlds.
We love this house. Everything was comfortable and clean including the great kitchen. Granite countertops and lots of extras made our stay really nice. It's open to the great room and overlooks the water, too. It has absolutely everything you could possibly need or want. Our kids were hooked on using the panini press making their own sandwiches. One of the few rentals we have used with more bath towels than we could use and a full sized washer & dryer.
It was nice of them not to charge a cleanup fee. Money we spent buying fresh seafood at a nearby seafood house.
The quiet & private location was so relaxing & great for our family and the many amenities and upgrades were a bonus. We're definitely coming back next summer for another 2 weeks.
