Chalet pittoresque situé sur un canal reliant le lac Magician à Sister Lakes, Michigan. La propriété est située à l'embouchure du canal Polk, une voie navigable d'un kilomètre de long excavée dans les années 1950, allant du lac Magician à Viewpoint Beach ... entourée de pins et de feuillus qui poussent depuis un siècle ou plus. Le chalet est parfait pour des vacances en famille ou pour les couples qui tentent de s'éloigner de l'agitation de la vie quotidienne. Si dans la région, veuillez contacter pour une visite. Everything was amazing. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Wildlife was everywhere. Great fishing right in the backyard. Just the escape we needed. Thank you for a perfect stay.

Turtle Cove

The cabin was very clean. 1 queen bed 6 twin beds. I felt it was a good value. Nice back deck. Nice appliances and kitchen. It is on a small creek leading to the lake. Which is very close.

Turtle Cove is a gem!We took the family up for the week of the 4th and really enjoyed our stay. The outdoor area in the back is very peaceful; fire pit, good fishing, and really cool to watch the boats all making their way to the lake.The home has all needs and is cool and comfortable.Hilda was wonderful throughout the entire process!A few opportunities;The home is a bit rundown:-kitchen floor is sunken under the flooring in several areas-the decks, both front and back have several cracks or holes in areas and it’s very splinter prone from years of wear and tear.-the majority of the docks on the channel are broken or even unusable.With that being said I would never hesitate to rebook- it was a wonderful trip and its proximity to the lake and everything around it is perfect.Thanks for having us!

We love Turtle Cove!

We had a wonderful stay at Turtle Cove and on Magician lake! The house was perfect for our two families. Hilda was lovely and accommodating as always! The property is beautiful and we have so much fun hanging out in the yard and on the lake. We always enjoy our stay here! We will be back next year!

Nice weekend getaway

Always enjoy spending time on Magician Lake. It's beautiful and never over crowded. We always rent the pontoon boat to go on sandbar or fishing. Love to sit by the bonfire at night.

We had a wonderful time on our return trip!! Our boys had a great time fishing, swimming. and boating on the pontoon on Lake Magician! The cabin felt like our home away from home! Thank you Cynthia and Franz!

Fun weekend getaway

Great location on the channel which the kids enjoyed playing in. Docks were a bit in need of repair. A/C units worked great to cool the house- but very loud at night. Owner very responsive and friendly. Overall a great weekend getaway for the price.

Peaceful Location

The property is in a nice location. It’s away from the business of the lake and sits in a nice quiet part of the channel. Our only complaint was the musty smell in the cabin. We diffused oils and used candles to cover it up!

Turtle Cove is a unique property located right on the Polk canal. It is truly a slice of paradise!

This is my family's second time here and we love it every time! Such a unique area and not just a cottage on a lake. The channel is perfect for Kayaks, paddle boards and canoeing! The lake is clean water and makes swimming very enjoyable! The owner Cynthia is so accommodating! Pontoon boat is docked right at the cottage so renting it easily and affordable! The Turtle cove cabin is very spacious and perfect for everyone it's our favorite! We will be back next year.

Turtle Cove

We LOVED our stay at Turtle Cove. Spent a long weekend with my husband and 2 teens and could not have been happier. The cottage is adorable with a perfectly secluded feeling. The boys caught some nice large mouth and pike on the lake. Cynthia could not be more wonderful. She was extremely helpful and willing to answer all of my questions before arriving. And after we left, she went above and beyond to look for an item that might have been left behind. We cant wait for our next trip to Turtle Cove.

Great family getaway, excellent communication

We had an amazing family trip. My wife and 3 young kids and I had nothing but great things to say about the house and the lake. Only 2 hours from home (Chicago suburbs) and we saw all kinds of wildlife while cruising in the channel on the rented pontoon (which I would highly recommend having set up before your trip)...different types of turtles, tons of fish (we caught over 100 on our trip, mostly pan fish and small bass), and even a bald eagle family nested just a couple houses away was pretty cool. Since the house is on the channel, just around the corner from the lake itself, we found it to have a feel of a wooded private retreat but on one of the busiest lakes in sister lakes, kind of a pick the relaxing quiet day if you want, or hit the busy sand bar if you're in the mood. Franz was always immediately available to handle any issues that came up (had a minor issue with the boat, but fixed right away), stock fire wood, offer advice on fishing spots, etc. Would definitely recommend this place!

Turtle Cove

We recently stayed at Turtle Cove with friends. The common space is nice and open and I liked the French doors that opened to the large deck. It was nice being on the canal and there is a pier available if you bring or rent a boat. The living room furniture was comfortable and the tv had access to streaming apps like Netflix. The internet connection was good. Bringing our own sheets was annoying, but we were told ahead of time. Don’t forget to bring blankets. Our families enjoyed our stay, but there are some things to note about the property. There is no dishwasher so we ended up using paper plates and plastic utensils for convenience. Some foil and ziplock baggies would have been convenient for food storage. The bedrooms were small and as pictured, but there was an odor that persisted in all of them. I am not sure if it came from the air conditioner units or the carpet, but the smell was musty and creeped onto some of our clothes. Another thing to note is the water damage to the kitchen floor. As soon as you walk in there is a rug over a large soft spot In the kitchen. It didn’t really effect us too much, but it is definitely significant enough to be annoying and a bit alarming. I wonder if there is other water damage that is causing the odor in the bedrooms. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Magician lake and would rent again because it’s conveniently down the street from our friends. Hilda was quick to answer if we had any questions.

Peaceful long weekend

Our family had such a nice time here! Close enough to Dowagiac to be convenient, but out ebough to be perfectly peaceful. The lake and channel were great, the hosts accommodating, and the house we clean and spacious. I would definitely book here again! We had a good time just lpumging outside, fishing off the dock, and taking our little boat out.

This property has been in the family since 1910. The land was originally used as a grain farm but after its purchase by Edmund R. Polk and his wife Agnes, with their five children, developed the land into a summer resort called Viewpoint Beach Resort.

Turtle Cove has a wide-open kitchen/living area that is conducive to family gatherings. The pier on the channel provides mooring for your boat or a rental boat. Tha natural beauty of the land and water, plus the spaciousness of the yard, make it a perfect get-a-way.
Because 3 cottages are adjacent to one another (Frog Hollow, Turtle Cove and Herons Nest), the setting is perfect for family reunions, wedding parties and large gatherings of friends. Plenty of parking for vehicles available.
