Vent d'été au lac Cable

Summerwind est une maison magnifique et calme nichée sur le lac Cable à Sister Lakes Michigan. Cable Lake est joliment encadrée par ce ranch mis à jour invitant. De grandes fenêtres laissent entrer la lumière naturelle et la vue sur le lac dans le salon principal. La nouvelle terrasse, accessible par des portes françaises, ajoute un espace de vie extérieur, et le concept ouvert de la maison permet une vue sur le lac depuis la cuisine, la salle à manger et le salon. Le débrayage du niveau inférieur s'ouvre sur une pelouse magnifiquement paysagée qui descend doucement vers le lac de fond de sable.

Summer Wind est situé sur 90 acres Cable Lake, qui est un lac privé non moteur à Sister Lakes, MI. Ce lac calme et propre est parfait pour le stand up paddle, le kayak, le pédalo, la voile, la planche à voile, le canoë et la natation. La pêche est exceptionnelle. Il y a 6 autres lacs en quelques minutes qui offrent une variété d'environnements. La plupart sont des lacs à moteur et des locations de bateaux sont disponibles auprès de vendeurs locaux.

Labor Day at Sister Lakes

We had a blast. Lovely lake house. Kids really appreciated the communal toys in the Pirate’s chest in the basement. Would love to stay there again.

Great lake house family vacation

We really enjoyed our week at the Summerwind cottage. There was plenty of space for our large family of 7 adults and 3 children. The lower level was great for the older kids who also enjoyed swimming and fishing on the property. Everyone enjoyed the kayaks and beachfront fire pit. Frank was very responsive when there was a problem with the internet and had a repair technician out first thing Monday morning. We'd definitely stay here again.

Quiet Lake

Excellent property on a quiet no-sports lake. Interior looks recently renovated and was very clean. Outside space is large with lots of seating for everyone. Lake access was easy and has a nice sandy bottom to wade out for a swim or to launch the kayaks. Surrounding area has good amount of restaurants, bars, grocery stores, etc.....about 1 hour from Holland, Saugatauk, 30 min to St.Joseph and 10 min from Dowagiac. Would highly recommend if you don't need a power boat to make your vacation.

Wonderful Family Getaway

We love Cable lake but this was our first time at Summerwind. Such a great house with room for the extended family. The private beach and kayaks were amazing we enjoyed the 10 min kayak ride to main beach on occasion . DVD collection was great and we enjoyed some classics in the one rainy day we had. Loved our stay!

Great, spacious place!

Plenty of room, great deck and waterfront space. Kitchen is perfect for large meals. 3 bathrooms is great! Check-in and checkout were easy. Hope to make it back again!

Girls Weekend

This place was awesome for a get together. 7 of us girls got together for a weekend to hang out. The lake was beautiful and the deck was our favorite place to sit. Frank was so easy to work with and very responsive. Highly recommended for all ages.

Quiet Lake

We loved Summer Wind on Cable Lake! The lake is no-motor so we had peace and quiet. Would have been better if there were more yard on the beach side for outdoor games. But we managed.

Family reunion

This is the second time we stayed at Summerwind. And we can't wait o go back next year. the home is spotless and this year there were new appliances. the weather wasn't the best but there was plenty to do to keep everyone busy. The lake is the best, clean and quiet. the family enjoyed kayaking, fishing and just floating on the peaceful water. A beautiful home for a family vacation. Of course a trip to Driftwood is required for ice cream and arcade games. And a bon fire to make somemores was perfect in the evening.

Great home for a family vacation! There was plenty of space for all 9 of us to spread out!

The inside of the house was very clean and spacious and looked very similiar to the pictures on the VRBO site. However, the outside is in need of attention and a thorough cleaning. That would be my only recommendation. Once you are in the home and on the water, you will totally love it! There's plenty of activities for everyone to do. We especially enjoyed the kayaks! The lake and surrounding area is very peaceful! The owner is wondeful to work with. We will definatley go back again!

Pros. The house was quite big with a ton of fun stuff to do. Board games. Puzzles, air hockey, ping pong, fosball, ect. The lake is a very peaceful lake. Cons. Every other house on the lake had a dock, a floating dock, paddle boards, and lily pad. This place only had old kayaks. The stair way is in the middle of the living area with no possible way to put up a baby gate because the railing is rounded. Summary. The actual house was very nice and could appeal more to people that prefer to just look at the lake.

really great home/house on a really nice lake

We really enjoyed our week stay at Summer Wind - meaning my wife and I, our children and spouses, and or grandchildren. We have been staying at cottages for 40+ years - Summer Wind is right there among the top places we have enjoyed. We are from the south side and south suburbs of Chicago - making the place easy to get to, as my family came and went during our week as their time allowed. The house itself is very well done inside and very modern. It was a very warm week with great weather, and the a/c was very comfortable. The 3 bathrooms are all very nice and very clean with showers in all three. There was plenty of room to spread out in the house, and with 4 nice sized bedrooms, beds on the lower level, and a pull out couch, there was plenty of room for all to sleep. 2 of our grandkids are under 1, and the place was very good for them. Another 6 of our grandkids are 4 to 7 - there was plenty of grounds for them to explore. And it was very safe for them as the road is far away. (There is a ton of space to park, which can be a problem at many places - there probably is parking for 15 or more cars.) The lake was great for them and all for swimming - it very gradually eases out into deeper water. And you don't need water shoes as it's very sandy. They especially enjoyed the 2 kayaks, and rowboats. The older ones caught a bunch of fish, too, a few of them pretty large (bass). The deck on the upper level is really spectacular. You get a really great view of the whole lake as it's elevated. Plus the weather was so nice that the grandkids ate most meals outside. The adults spent most nights sitting out there to take in the view. During the day, we all spent a lot of time sitting in the water on the numerous chairs provided. It was a great way to spend vacation. The neighbors were very nice - we spent a lot of time talking to them. They remarked how well the place had been upgraded over the last year. Finally, the owner, Frank, was very accessible if you needed to contact him. I always use email - don't want to bother the owner so he can answer in his own time. Emailed him a couple times, and he answered promptly and helped us out with answers we needed. Summer Wind was all thumbs up by all ! John Shalvis

Mislead

Unfortunately there were a lot of things that did not meet our expectations as VRBO renters. Upon walking in the home- it seemed like we opened it up for the first time this year. There was a very musty smell in which we had to purchase odor eliminator and baking soda to help with the mustiness. Upon inspection of the beds we found mold on one of the comforters. We had to rewash all the bedding on all the beds. All the rusted outdoor furniture had to be scrubbed down before we could use it. The grill doesn't work correctly and was never cleaned after the last use. There were bones and cheese all over the inside. We had to brush down all the cobwebs and sweep both the upstairs and downstairs decks and the yard needed to be raked as there was feces all over, before we could use any of it. The house seems like it has not been maintained much. It poured here and the gutters look like they haven't been cleaned in quite a long time which could be the reason for the water stains on the master ceiling. It was hard having 10 people shower and use the sinks when none of the drains worked properly. The upstairs TV is broken with a line running down the screen, none of the remotes worked we had to buy batteries, bugs and all the light fixtures, dresser drawers broken, beds were very uncomfortable, underneath every bed there is a lot of dust and toys balls etc, pillows are very old and stained, sheets were stained, we couldn't use the ping pong table all the balls were broken, there were no hangers in the closets, we had to put owners personal stuff away to utilize the kitchen and dining room. We used the vacuum and the canister had never been emptied and had a horrible smell when we used it, the mop stinks horribly... We are disappointed since we had to pay a cleaning fee and clean and open this home up ourselves. The contract stated the home would be clean and fresh for our stay. It was far from it. Overall we made the best of it but it felt like someone let us borrow their lake house, not that we rented a property from a business rental company. It did not that meet our expectations for the amount of money that we spent. It was a little strange seeing post it notes stuck all over explaing this and that as well. The pictures that are used to advertise makes it look very deceiving. We ended our week long vaction before the 5th night. Huge disappointment as we paid for 7.

The house offers some great privacy while still being super close to tons of activities. Cable lake is gorgeous and peaceful while the neighboring lakes have sport activities and boating. It's really the best of both worlds.
