Several family members including us found VRBOs for the weekend and had fun together at a privately owned home in the same neighborhood. Our rustic cabin was dubbed âpine coneâ house because of the pine cone decor everywhere! It was well furnished and comfortable. Thanks!
Cozy, clean and welcoming cottage. Communication with owner was easy. Kitchen was perfectly equipped for simple meals. Plenty of bedding and towels. Location is perfect- easy walk to lakeshore, town is walkable distance for most.
From check in to check out the process was smooth and communication was fantastic. The cottage was super clean, and just enough space for our family. You cannot beat the location. We enjoyed walking to and from the beach many times. We also walked to town, local free concerts (major bonus), and mini putt putt. I highly recommend staying here! Lots of memories were made with our family.
The cottage was clean, comfy, and the space was well utilized. The cottage provided everything needed for our stay and we appreciated the thought out details. The location was perfect for walking to the beach and down town restaurants and shops. Wonderful vacation destination!
Super efficient use of the space, has everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Linda did an amazing job at creating storage in all the right spots.
Cottage was easy to find, super clean, and SO cute! Have already given details to friends to stay in cottage 6, and hope to stay again in the future myself.
Our stay was very enjoyable. The cottage was clean and meticulously decorated which added to the fun
We were so close to everything: the beach, downtown Ludington, Hamlin Reservoir, and the state park. We rode our bikes to dinner and walked to the beach. You couldnât ask for a better location.
Nice little cottage just a short walk from the beautiful beach.
We stayed 3 nights in late August for a little vacation getaway before school started back up. We enjoyed beautiful weather and no crowds whatsoever. Downtown Ludington seemed like it was ready to close up early for the season. But the ice cream shops were open! And the sunsets on the water were gorgeous.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage! It was immaculate and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the cottage had anything one could need. Linda was wonderful about getting back to us with a couple of questions that we had. The location was prime, with the lake a block away, and often we would ride our bikes or walk into town which was not too far. The area was super quiet at night, which was a plus! We loved the area and look forward to coming back again!
The cabin was in a perfect location for a nice walk to downtown and a short walk to the city public beach. We come to ludington each year and it was our first time staying in downtown area - we loved the location! However, we had a baby and there were many windows that were not dark enough. Obviously that is a concern for us, but overall the cabin was good. Parking was difficult - the parking spot provided was hardly big enough for a car, so we parked on the local street - would have preferred parking closer but we made due. The code we were given to get into the cabin did not work and the lock box code was also wrong - we had to reach out to Linda again to get accurate information.
I've stayed in alot of Beach Cottages - mostly all good. But I never give reviews (good or bad)... until now. Ohmigosh! This Cottage (#6) is hands-down the BEST one I've had the blessing of staying in. I enjoyed it so much, I hated to have to leave. It is a well-appointed, delightful, cozy Cottage located a half block from Lake MI! It was CLEAN (which is my #1 MUST-have); the bed was super comfortable; an unbelievably well-stocked kitchen; the large shower was great, too. Security was top-notch. The owners (the Simpson's) are very accommodating and very easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this cottage (& I'm assuming their other cottage, #3, is great too)
My sincere thanks to the Simpson's for providing such an excellent place for a much needed get-away. I will definitely be back!
It is not that we did or did not enjoy our stay. It is about the cabin accommodations. The cabin was clean and ready for our stay. But, the comfort of the stay was very small and the cabin had far too much decor to allow a guest to put anything away while there. There were no extra blankets left anywhere except for the bed spread that was difficult to sleep with and far too many pillows to find a place to put them. The parking is extremely small to get in and out of with the other guests parked. We would not plan too stay here again. Thanks for inquiring.
We enjoyed our stay at cottage #6. It is a quiet residential neighborhood with the cottages being literally across the street from the entrance to the beach parking lot. The cottage has the feel of yesteryear with wood paneling and decorated with a pinecone and fishing theme. It is on the smaller side with a day bed with a pull out trundle bed one side for children. It would be cramped quarters for more than two adults, but I donât think it is available for more than 2. Full sized fridge and electric stove. The kitchen is well stocked with gadgets and utensils. The only thing we ran into that we thought was missing from the assortment was a pair of scissors. Not a huge deal, but we had a few times we found ourselves reaching for a pair of scissors and couldnât find one. The mattress was comfortable and had no back complaints after a week, which is unusual for me. Linda left a beach umbrella and beach chairs for guests to use, but we brought our own. There is a table and chairs and Adirondack chairs outside the door to drink your morning coffee. There is a central deck with umbrella tables and a couple gas grills for community use amongst cabins. Cabin #6 has a free standing air conditioner, I believe one of the other cabins does not have air. We appreciated the AC as it was warm and rained a few days which made it muggy out. Had no problems checking in. Linda sent us the code which was active when we arrived. Would stay again if in the area. Thanks!
This was an ideal location to have close access to so many things in the Ludington area!
We took advantage of the proximity to the lake; we even walked to the nearby Oriole Field to take in some high school football!
Iâm not sure weâd want to stay here with two other adults, but it was perfect for the two of us!!
After years of traveling ...looking for a place.. like this was nearly impossible..so providing for what I thought my guests would need was easy! My family vacations here! This is Cottage 6 we also own Cottage 3...same location.
