This was a really nice little cottage that sat on a canal that fed into Hamlin lake. It was super clean and quite well equipped with everything you could need in the kitchen, plenty of towels, and sheets, and even beach towels. It was incredibly close to Ludington State Park and unbeknownst to us, there is a terrific and very clean little lake with wonderful sand just behind the property within walking distance. Our Littles really enjoyed that lake because it was so shallow and clean. It was also a little warmer than Lake Michigan.
The canal that is in front of the property, unfortunately is slow moving and was full of algae slime, probably from ChemLawn run off throughout the canal neighborhood. Regardless, the kids loved the little beach area by the canal and we also used the fire pit down there to make s’more’s. There were a fair number of nail pops on the pier area, which made us make sure all the kids had shoes on down there. If I had a hammer, I would’ve tapped them in myself.
I wish there would’ve been an outside spigot that we could’ve used to wash the sand off of the kids before they came into the house. We did the best we could, and it was not a major issue. I just like to try to treat other peoples property as if it was my own. The unit was fully stocked with everything you needed to have an enjoyable time. Spices, coffee, soap, paper products, etc.
The only suggestion I have is that the sofa bed be replaced or guest should bring a blowup bed
