Hi there, Yes, there is one camera at the front of the house on our car and one at the back of the house that focuses on the back gate that backs on to the road to monitor trespassers. This is Jamaica! Yes we live in Canada and in Jamaica. We have to be able to verify who is entering our home or what is parked on our driveway…. (Especially if it’s a transport truck). The camera cannot see or hear anything else. First, this group registered online they indicated 4 travellers when it was really 5 possibly 6 - they checked in at 10pm with no consideration for the helper that had to wait for them to arrive - they had 2 commercial transport vehicles (moving truck and fruit truck) plus a car arrive and lied to security indicating they were trash collectors (not sure why when they were guests of ours). This caused the security to investigate because they parked the trucks and car on the tiny driveway which is not permitted because it looked suspicious (security photos available) - As Homeowners, we were given a warning about transparency and communication to which we relayed the info to the guests (photos to prove this) requesting that they move the transport truck off the driveway but the car could remain. - Guest moved transport trucks after instructed but negatively commented that they did not appreciate “being watched”. The transport moving truck is quite noticeable and did draw a lot of attention and on top of that you were dishonest about why it was there to the security team. - We Communicated throughout the ordeal on VRBO to be transparent, guests only wanted to communicate on Facebook (stories kept changing only to learn it’s from two sisters, one upset/ignorant and the other very happy/sweet and the other guests were locals (all aware of community rules regarding trucks in a small neighborhoods. (messages to support this as well) - Every unit has a camera for safety and to verify how many people are entering the unit as well as why you would need to bring a moving truck? - Checkout is at 10am they checked out at 2:30pm (taking full advantage of the holiday) and did not want to pay extra or leave. They only left because cleaning team showed up and we asked if they were extending their stay. Our community has rules to which we all have to follow. Safety of our guests is priority and adhering to this is essential. If this is a problem and your well being is not a priority, don’t stay with us. Please note that this incident has nothing to do with the house, amenities, our hosting or the beautiful quaint surrounding community. This group is not welcome back. Too much of a headache, a sense of entitlement, lack of communication and transparency. They knew exactly what they were doing and how security felt about it and did it anyway. Future guests Any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to ask. We want you to enjoy the property and community SAFELY.

As per ongoing communication: The dryer stopped working a few days before your arrival, that’s why we contacted you and informed you of our arrangements to have a brand new unit put in. The dryer unit had to be shipped from China, the other side of the planet. The company could not guarantee an exact date of arrival. We did suggest a laundromat, a 15 minute drive into town. Alternatively, my cleaning lady would have done it in exchange for a few dollars for her transportation. Or hang clothes outside to air dry in the heat. The dryer arrived and was installed during the duration of your stay. The primary guests occupied the Master bedroom with a king size bed with no complaints. They had multiple guests visit them, who occupied the front guest room on different occasions. To be polite the extra guest required a king size bed. The mattress in the front guest bedroom with a queen size bed was replaced the day after the guests left. Ceiling fans were disconnected because the fans were replaced with a functioning air conditioner unit that cools the entire main floor. This is also indicated in the description of the property. The television on the main floor works well and so do the channels. Unfortunately the guests had to manually turn on the t.v until the new remote arrived. The remote in the unit had a melted battery in it. It could change channels just not turn on or off the tv). It was replaced within the second week of arrival. Nothing was wrong with viewing the television and channels subscribed. The Porch light was also replaced and repaired during the duration of your stay. It was not done prior because of electrical safety and the heavy rain. This was explained by the property maintenance person and by the owner that these things are done by appointment and weather. But the back porch light was replaced and also a unit number in the front that lights up too. All of which were discussed in person and witnessed. The bathrooms, toilets and faucets are all functioning and are operable. The shower hose was replaced. The toilet in the master bedroom is brand new and did not have any issues prior to your arrival. It has been looked at and it is not leaking. The screen on the front door was damaged by your suitcases on arrival. The mesh was replaced. The mesh on the front is also not a requirement. If you notice, we are the only house in the neighborhood with a screen mesh at the front door to keep mosquitoes and bugs out. The owners were in constant communication with guests almost daily by text. The owner, maintenance person and cleaning lady communicated in person daily. They ruined a queen size mattress and broke a brand new expensive imported coffee machine. Which by the way, was replaced by the owner on the same day! We didn’t charge for it because of the dryer delay. Needless to say theses guests complained about everything and perhaps this just wasn’t a fit. You folks are definitely not welcome back and I wouldn’t recommend you either, save owners from the impatience and unnecessary daily stress presented by guests. Please understand, We take criticism and constructive feedback seriously. We also work our asses off to address all recommendations/suggestions/demands immediately to prevent negative experiences or public reviews. Our home is not neglected but we have visitors that treat it terribly and most with respect. Regardless, things happen in the unit unexpectedly that are beyond our control and we cannot guarantee a timeline of how or when it can be addressed, it's a process. We want to ensure our future and past clients that we are constantly making upgrades where we can and renovating our cottage townhome. This unit is by no means a luxury boutique palace but it is a comfortable simple home with beautiful amenities. Photos are updated often to demonstrate transparency with our guests. What you see is what you get. Please take a look at other reviews before making your decision to stay with us.

Whether it is the action of the long bay and the cliffs or the peace and quiet of the country club. I agree that there isn't anywhere else like that in Negril. I am pleased we share that in common. Thank you for your feedback. We look forward to ongoing renovation projects that will improve the issues suggested and enhance the villa further. An air conditioning unit on the main floor is certainly at the top of the list and will be installed in the very near future. Unfortunately this unit did not come with one on the main floor. But yes, the rear of the home backs onto the main road. The installation of the A/C should block out some of the traffic sounds that you mention when the rear windows are closed. Allegations made have been investigated and addressed. Informing me of any problems immediately with a phone call could have resulted in a better outcome, damage free. There are many all inclusive resorts nearby. -Cal
