Location was great, good to be on the lake, plenty of room in the house. Outside was pretty dirty and could use a good cleaning. Inside was sort-of clean, appeared to have been a rush job cleaning the house or people tracked thru it after it was cleaned. Furniture wasn't torn but the cushions were definitely past their prime. We truly enjoyed our stay at this house at lake Tillery! Great for a reunion visit with my childhood friend and his family. We had 9 kids there all together and it was great for the weekend. Boating, fishing, sitting by the fireside, and sitting on the back deck was enjoyable and relaxing. We also drove back to the small community Park. We will definitely be back when we can take advantage of the pool in the warmer months. The host was great! Very responsive and took care of everything we needed, plus more. Hoping to make this an annual tradition.
This place was great! We had plenty of room and was all very comfortable. We didnât get to enjoy the lake very much but it was awesome having it right there! Would definitely stay here again!
The house was comfortable and a lot of room. The layout couldâve been a little bit easier to maneuver. Some of the mattresses might need to be replaced at some point but very comfortable. Having a space at the lake was very nice. We enjoyed using the canoe.
We absolutely loved staying at this lake house. It comfortably fit 10 people (with room for loads more)! Our group loved waking up and being able to enjoy a nice morning swim, lounging on one of the three porches, grilling out, and taking the canoe for a ride. Could not recommend this house enough - was the perfect place for a friend reunion. Will 100% be back.
You're paying for lakefront. The house sits on one of the best coves for swimming and access to the lake. It's so calm, even the 4 yr olds swam (with life vests). We loved having access to the canoe and 1 kayak. The house was very clean. Especially the kitchen and bathrooms. We cooked big family meals each day and the gas stove and grill were nice touches. I loved how the bedrooms were spread between the 3 levels. There's not a lot to do (especially with young children) in this area outside of the lake and the pool. We brought a couple of kiddie pools for the kids and set them up in the side yard, which was a big hit. My husband and I took long hikes around the neighborhood and found a couple trails. We got a good workout from walking the hills each morning. We ate at River Wild near Mt. Gilead and I would recommend the ribeye burger. Probably the best burger we've ever had. The veranda had a small leak in the roof and the outside dining area on the lower deck needs a good power washing, but other than that, it was great. The hosts were easy to communicate with and were attentive to our inquiries.
We had a great time.
We grew up in nearby Charlotte and spent weekends on the lake. After discovering the tranquility of Lake Tillery with its beautiful sunsets, Morrow Mountain across the lake and the Uhwarrie Forest in our back yard we knew we wanted to have a home here. Our family loves boating, tubing, water skiing, fishing, hiking and entertaining. We are blessed to have all that here. We live nearby closer to aging parents. Lake Tillery is away from it all but not too far from it all. We would love to share our home so you can make your memories there also.
We love evenings watching sunsets on the screen porch, reading a good book on the porch swing that face the lake, grilling out with friends on the deck and swimming and fishing from the dock. Magnificent views from bedrooms and living areas. Cool breezes in the summer and a cozy fire in the winter.
