We truly enjoyed our stay at this house at lake Tillery! Great for a reunion visit with my childhood friend and his family. We had 9 kids there all together and it was great for the weekend. Boating, fishing, sitting by the fireside, and sitting on the back deck was enjoyable and relaxing. We also drove back to the small community Park. We will definitely be back when we can take advantage of the pool in the warmer months. The host was great! Very responsive and took care of everything we needed, plus more. Hoping to make this an annual tradition.
This place was great! We had plenty of room and was all very comfortable. We didnât get to enjoy the lake very much but it was awesome having it right there! Would definitely stay here again!
The house was comfortable and a lot of room. The layout couldâve been a little bit easier to maneuver. Some of the mattresses might need to be replaced at some point but very comfortable. Having a space at the lake was very nice. We enjoyed using the canoe.
We absolutely loved staying at this lake house. It comfortably fit 10 people (with room for loads more)! Our group loved waking up and being able to enjoy a nice morning swim, lounging on one of the three porches, grilling out, and taking the canoe for a ride. Could not recommend this house enough - was the perfect place for a friend reunion. Will 100% be back.
You're paying for lakefront. The house sits on one of the best coves for swimming and access to the lake. It's so calm, even the 4 yr olds swam (with life vests). We loved having access to the canoe and 1 kayak. The house was very clean. Especially the kitchen and bathrooms. We cooked big family meals each day and the gas stove and grill were nice touches. I loved how the bedrooms were spread between the 3 levels. There's not a lot to do (especially with young children) in this area outside of the lake and the pool. We brought a couple of kiddie pools for the kids and set them up in the side yard, which was a big hit. My husband and I took long hikes around the neighborhood and found a couple trails. We got a good workout from walking the hills each morning. We ate at River Wild near Mt. Gilead and I would recommend the ribeye burger. Probably the best burger we've ever had. The veranda had a small leak in the roof and the outside dining area on the lower deck needs a good power washing, but other than that, it was great. The hosts were easy to communicate with and were attentive to our inquiries.
We had a great time.
This little lake cove is so much fun. Weâve been a few times over the years. Did notice that the place is really starting to show its age and abuse from frequent stays. Didnât interfere with the fun, just looking rough.
This was the third time we have stayed in this house. As always Scott and Janet have been super helpful and accommodating. I would give 10 stars if it were an option.
We rented the house for a quick weekend getaway with my family. The house is 3 levels, which was perfect for the different families. There is a huge dock which we were able to dock our 2 boats on during our stay and the house was filled with all the amenities we needed for the weekend. Going through the gate was a breeze as the owner had reached out for our drivers names before our arrival.
House incredibly dirty. Arrived to clean, wipe and even scrub what we needed in the kitchen. Including trash can and fridge- so gross.
Toilets slow to flush. Owners already aware but didnât disclose beforehand. Bathrooms were probably the dirtiest of the house and certainly not cleaned before our arrival even hand towels were not fresh you could see the dirt. Hair everywhere.
Spiderwebs were plentiful throughout the house, perhaps getting a head start on Halloween decor.
We were a group of gals celebrating a 50th birthday girl and we made the best of it but the final straw was a mouse joining us as wellâŠyes, you read correctly a mouse came out scurrying in the kitchen-ugh!!
The owners response to my feedback was, it appeared we had a great time, WOW goes to show they donât really care or maintain the conditions of the house. Oh and FYI, thereâs a RING camera watching the house, so be warned!
Itâs really sad because with the right cleaning & maintenance this house could be a gem!
The dock was recently renovated. Plenty of room for our 2 boats and great cove for swimming! Nice decks facing the lake, screened in porch and 2 swings. Outside patio table with a grill. Be aware, there are 50 stairs from the lake to the house.
Four private bedrooms with full baths. We had 10 adults all sleeping in actual beds, just the little kids were on pull out couches. Nice sized kitchen with very nice appliances. Had a DR that seated 8. Has 2 separate living areas, so lots of room to spread out. The house needs a little TLC, but has lots of space.
There was lots of parking! We had 6 cars and a boat trailer parked in the driveway with room to spare.
It is in a gated neighborhood with a security guard, but the guard leaves at night. We went to a concert in Charlotte and were unable to enter the neighborhood when we got back, despite using the phone access the owner had provided.
We grew up in nearby Charlotte and spent weekends on the lake. After discovering the tranquility of Lake Tillery with its beautiful sunsets, Morrow Mountain across the lake and the Uhwarrie Forest in our back yard we knew we wanted to have a home here. Our family loves boating, tubing, water skiing, fishing, hiking and entertaining. We are blessed to have all that here. We live nearby closer to aging parents. Lake Tillery is away from it all but not too far from it all. We would love to share our home so you can make your memories there also.
We love evenings watching sunsets on the screen porch, reading a good book on the porch swing that face the lake, grilling out with friends on the deck and swimming and fishing from the dock. Magnificent views from bedrooms and living areas. Cool breezes in the summer and a cozy fire in the winter.
