Property is typical 1960's vacation home on the coast. Excellent view of bay. Quiet, private and interesting. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the local small town feel. Local beaches, golf course, kayaking, whale ship and wonderful people made it greatggreplaceplaceplacebe!
This home is right on Casco bay with large windows looking out. There is a great restaurant and another outdoor lobster shack less than 5 minutes away. One of our key issues was privacy which the owners stressed. Unfortunately, there is a small cabin 10 yards away that is occupied by a couple.
There is virtually no access to the water. There are no screens in several of the windows so that on a not day it can get warm. There is a rotten egg smell to the running water so that a shower is nota pleasant experience.
With a little work this can be a five star experience
Peaceful and so very quiet. Comfy beds, kitchen was well stocked, and the cottage was spotless!! There were lovely fresh flowers on the table. The views from the cottage beautiful, along with gorgeous sunsets. There were nice trails to walk, and all just a short drive away. In fact, the cottage was close to everything the islands have to offer. I hope to return!!
Sweet, rustic cottage right on the Maine coast with sleepy days spent lounging on the deck watching lobster boats coming and going. Walk to great seafood down the end of the road, kayak from your cottage, or just read one of the many books from their bookshelves or do a puzzle while listening to the waves lapping against the shore. Lovely!
Only thing I'd wish for is a floating dock on which to sit and access the water more easily with my kayak.
We can not say enough about this property. We have not been to this area in 15 years, and had a great time. The house is a typical rustic Maine property. Right on the water, and excluded. It was within 45 minutes from all we wanted to see, including Brunswick, LL Bean, the Maine Maritime Museum and all of the areas of Harpswell such as Bailey's Island, Cundy's Harbour and Potts Point. Fresh lobster was 7 minutes away. We were able to dine at very nice restaurants, eat lunch outside at a couple of wharfs and get fresh seafood to cook at the house. There was even a farm that we could get range free chicken eggs and fresh area fruits. The kids had a great time swimming at high tide. Jean was easy to work with, and very friendly. We had no problems whatsoever. When we go back to this area, we will do our best to schedule it so we can use this property again. We travel a lot, and the kids tell us whether we want to try something new. They want to return to this house. Thank you Jean.
Comfortable, cozy cottage with amazing water views
We just spent 3 nights at this wonderful cottage and plan to return for a week this summer. The photos of the house don't do it justice. It is a large, comfortably furnished, fully-equipped home with amazing water views from the living room and master bedroom. It is "off the beaten path" yet very close to a great lobster pound (Erica's seafood) and lots of beach walks, and 12 miles from Brunswick. The owner is lovely, easy-going and accommodating (she got the house ready at the last minute when our other rental fell through). We can't wait to return when the weather is warmer.
As of 2020 we have completely replaced our water filtration system. Our well water has been tested. It is now clear and odorless but we recommend bringing your own drinking water.
