Nos chalets spacieux bénéficient d'un emplacement privilégié sur la côte ouest ensoleillée de l'île. Chaque chalet a sa propre terrasse privée et barbecue pont. Les vues panoramiques sont spectaculaires! Toutes les fenêtres et les portes en verre sont en double vitrage avec le confort à l'esprit. Il y a une zone de la piscine magnifique aménagé dans le jardin partagé entièrement clos. Pas de meilleur endroit n'a pu être trouvée pour les jours où faire très peu, mais se détendre et bronzer est ce que vous êtes après. Si vous avez besoin de vérifier dans le monde réel, vous pouvez le faire en faisant défiler l'une des chaînes d'information inclus dans le menu du programme de télévision ou en se connectant à nos installations sans fil à Internet haut débit. À distance de marche il y a un mini-marché, un centre café, la pharmacie et de la santé. Et si la marche est ce que vous aimez alors cette région offre certains des meilleurs lavada marchant sur Madère!
Rosemary chalet est le plus petit de nos deux chalets nouvellement construits et est parfait pour vos vacances île! Le salon avec son plafond voûté comprend une cuisine ouverte bien équipée et une salle à manger confortable. Il y a un flux merveilleux entre ce salon et le salon en verre confortablement meublé qui s'ouvre sur une terrasse privée; idéal pour manger en plein air. Et pour les jours ou les soirées fraîches occasionnelles, il y a un poêle à bois confortable au centre de la salle de séjour. La chambre spacieuse est bien équipée et est équipée d'un ventilateur de plafond pour les nuits encore étouffantes. Les portes coulissantes en verre qui mènent au jardin peuvent être fermées de la manière traditionnelle pour plus d'intimité ou pour les siestes sensées de l'après-midi. Il y a une magnifique piscine aménagée dans le jardin entièrement clos. Aucun meilleur endroit pourrait être trouvé pour ces jours où faire très peu mais relaxant et appréciant quelques bains de soleil isolés est ce que vous recherchez.

High up with a fantastic view, quiet and relaxing break away

Prior to us going away, Heather forwarded us directions to the apartment which was very informative and also had photos of signage to look out for which was very helpful. Upon arrival Heather was there to greet us with a warm welcome and a nice gift bag of some groceries to get us started including some wine. She was very helpful with places to visit and where to eat as she has spent several years on the Island, so she knows her onions!! The bungalow we stayed in was ideal with a terrific view, we had all we needed, even a wood burner which came in handy as the weather was changeable and in the evenings it did get a bit cool. The bungalow apartments are up a very steep hill, but the most of the hills on the Island are very steep, and there’s many, an experience to be hold in a Fiat Punto. Plenty of room in the smaller bungalow which we had for two and well equipped, even had use of the underground garage to park our car. We would definitely recommend Banda do Sol to stay, very relaxing with a nice and helpful host. The pool area is ideal to chill and relax when the sun is out, sadly it was a bit to cool to try the pool but the children staying next door had plenty of fun the the cold water. Super schön extrem schöne Aussicht

Die Wirtin Heather ist sehr nett und berät einen gerne mit guten Tips wie wann und wo etwas gut ist, der tip zum lokalen supermarket mit Mittagstisch war super. Das apartment hatte die erwartet gute Qualität wir waren super zufrieden. Alles hat bei der Übernahme und Abgabe problemlos geklappt. Wir können dieses Apartment nur weiter empfehlen.

Just perfect

If you are looking for a perfect place to relax and chill out away from it all then this is the place. We stayed here for 10 days and it way just what we were looking for, out of the way but close enough to the be able to get out and about. The Cottage was 5*, every thing you need to self-cater, if something you needed was not there Heather would go out of her way to get it for you. We arrived quite later at 9pm and Heather had gone out of her way to do a starter shop and even prepare a chicken salad for us, there was also a welcome bag which was a really lovely touch. These little thing are what made the stay perfect and outstanding. The location offers breathtaking views over looking the sea, with its own terrace for eating and relaxing, having breakfast in the warm sun with a light breeze looking out over the view was just fantastic. Don't take my word for it come and experience it for your self, you will not be disappointed. My final point is its value for money, you are paying 3* price for 5* accommodation. Super Cottages mit toller Aussicht

Wir haben 10 wunderschöne Tage im Rosemary Cottages verbracht. Das Haus ist bestens ausgestattet und sehr günstig gelegen. Man kommt von dort schnell zum Strand, in die Berge oder auch zum Supermarkt. Die Betreuung durch die Gastgeber ist einfach perfekt. Wir erhielten ein Welcome Paket und sehr gute Tipps. Vielen Dank für die sehr gute Zeit und auch die Hilfe. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Einzigstes Manko ist, es gibt keinen deutschen Fernsehsender, falls jemand darauf Wert legen sollte.

Perfect Hosts and Lovely Views

We have just returned from our second three week visit to this idyillic cottage with its kind, thoughtful and attentive owners ready at hand with helpful advice. The new addition of a glazed patio extension (on both properties) enabled us to maximise the Spring sunshine and the all round superb coastal views. The property gives easy access to delightful locations such as Jardim do Mar and Rabacal but equally is a good base in a quiet area giving ready access to all areas of the island. We have already booked again for a third visit to enjoy the varied island scenery and walks.

Wir kommen wieder!

Wir haben für 10 Tage wunderschöne Herbstferien in den Cottages von Heather, Fay und Ken verbracht. Wir fühlten uns dort sehr zu Hause dank der netten Gastgeber und den tollen Bungalows. Unsere Kinder wollten schon gar nicht mehr nach Hause, sie konnten sich frei in dem kinderfreundlichen Garten und Poolbereich bewegen. Die Lage ist ideal, man ist schnell in den Bergen zum Wandern oder in 5 Min am Strand und gut sortiertem Supermarkt. Zum Flughafen sind es auch nur 50 Minuten und in 40 Minuten ist man in Funchal zum Sightseeing. Für zwei befreundete Familien sind die Bungalows ideal, man wohnt zusammen aber hat dennoch seine eigene Rückzugsmöglichkeit. Eine bessere Betreuung als die durch unserer Gastgeber haben wir noch nie in einem Feriendomizil erlebt. Wir kamen sehr spät an und der erste Einkauf wurde für uns erledigt, im Backofen brutzelte schon eine Lasagne. Wir bekamen ein tolles Welcome Paket und eines der Kinder hatte Geburtstag und bekam eine Extraüberraschung. Wir haben lauter gute Tips und Tricks für Madeira erhalten, die Tür stand immer für uns offen. Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit, wir kommen bestimmt noch mal wieder!

Rosemary Cottage

We stayed in Rosemary cottage for 3 weeks in March. It was our first visit to the beautiful island if Madeira. We walked through the most superb scenery which ranged from levadas and coastal walks to mountain peaks and ridges. The waterfalls and the forests and laurisilva were superb. We have booked already to visit next year as we found our accommodation location such a good base. We really enjoyed Rosemary cottage and very much appreciated the welcome and practical help from Ken, Faye and Heather. The view from the cottage is superb, the cottage is well equipped and very comfortable.

Absolutely Fab

We had the most fabulous stay at this beautiful cottage. The accommodation is absolutely lovely - comfortable, clean and of extremely good quality. The owner and her family were most welcoming and so very helpful. It is situated in a very peaceful spot - high up with spectacular views and gorgeous gardens. We would not hesitate to recommend this cottage and we are looking forward to a return visit next year!

Lavender cottage.

On arrival we were greeted by Heather & her family. We were given a full tour & explanation of the property which was clean & very well appointed, they arranged a local taxi who proved invaluable taking us to local restaurants. We highly recommend Chico at prazeres Calheta. Overall the holiday was like a home from home.Do check out heathers garden, it takes re-cycling to a whole new level.

A real home away from home!

We stayed for 10 days in Rosemary Cottage. A lovely house, on the in- and outside, very comfortable and clean, on a nice and quiet location with a wonderful view. Heather, Ken and Fay made us feel very welcome. The cottage is a good place to explore the beautiful island of Madeira but also a good place to have a relaxing day on your terras or near the pool. We say: go, see and experience Rosemary Cottage for yourself!

A recommended location for a relaxing break.

Many thanks to Heather and her mum and dad for a wonderful stay. Heather is most friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is very well appointed, clean, tidy and comfortable. The views over the sea are spectacular and Madeira is a great place to relax. Walks along the laverdas, picnics in the forests (a bit cool at times), some shopping in Funchal (but we are not city folk), relax and recharge. Thanks again. We would recommend Banda Do Sol.

A little bit off paradise

My husband and i spent six weeks in "Banda Do Sol" we really enjoyed our stay so much so i would recommend it to any-one visting madiera, The cottage was spotless well fitted out and had a great wood burner as it can get a bit chilly at nights Our hosts were wonderful,nothing seems to be any trouble to them ,they were always at hand when we needed anything it was nice to know they were around ,they are a lovely family Banda do sol is situated in a beautiful side of the island,it was always warmer there then any were else (which pleased us) WE didnt eat out much as we were happy just to sit outside the cottage and watch the sun go down,but when we did we enjoyed jonhies (ask heather) Our holiday was really super ,thanks heather ,ken and fey for a five star stay Glad& callum

Rosemary Cottage

We had a wonderful holiday – 25th July – 1st August at Rosemary Cottage. The cottage was spacious, well designed, clean, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything needed for self catering. I can’t actually think of anything that it didn’t have. There is a good sized patio area with barbecue, a very pretty garden which Heather, Ken and Fay take great pride in and a small pool, which was good to relax in after a hard day of levada walking. Excellent laundry facilities are also available. The views over the ocean from the cottage are fantastic. Heather and her parents were great hosts, immediately making us feel very welcome, and were helpful in every way - making sure we had everything we wanted. We took advantage of Ken’s ‘n million candle power’ torch for the levada tunnels, his shopping tips – make sure you get the extra smoked ham from the supermarket. Heather was of great assistance when we encountered a problem with our rental car – the rear brakes! – which given the severity of the gradients was pretty scary. Heather and Fay are also passionate gardeners and were happy to share their knowledge and expertise. We are keen walkers and greatly enjoyed the levada walks from Rabacal (quite busy), Bica da Cana, and the levada and mountain walks around Encumaeda. We would definitely recommend the cottage to friends and relatives looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday base in a lovely part of the island. Banda do Sol has ‘heart and soul’ which stands it apart from other self catering ventures we have encountered.

Lavender Cottage, Madeira. 4,5 or even 6 sleeps.

We had a very good holliday at Lavender Cottage, Madeira. The owner welcomes us very friendly. Lavender Cottage has two big sleeping rooms, 2 bathrooms. Originally it is meant for 4 people. But we were with 5 persons and it fitts exellent. The owner put an extra bed for the 5th person. The cottage was very clean and very well equiped. Enough towels for the shower, the beach, the pool. Beds ans coaches are very good. After a week a lady cleaned the cottage. Very nice overview over the Atlantic Ocean. Nice swimming pool (with 2 parasols), an overcoverd garage for our car. The kitchen was fully equiped: dishwasher (with tablets), an oven, microwave, refrigerator and freezer, electric cooking plate with 4 pits. There was also a cheeseslicer (kaasschaaf in Dutch), a bbq and a lot of baking dishes, paring knives, a scissor. Each bathroom has a shower and a bath and also a sink with hot and cold water. From the parents sleeping room you can also overview the ocean. There is a washing machine and dryer. You can use them free. On a certain distance there is another cottage for 2 persons. But it didn't disturb us, because it stood far enough away from us. I certainly believe you'll like this cottage as much as we did. We've stayed here for 2 weeks. Lovely.

Amazing holiday cottage in a beautiful location!

We had a wonderful holiday with our 18 month old little boy, staying at this 2 bedroom cottage overlooking the sea from its fantastic clifftop location. We found the cottage very easily from Funchal airport, thanks to Heather's detailed directions (helfpully assisted by photos of key landmarks en route). As we told Heather at the end of our stay, we absolutely couldn't fault the cottage which was clean, tastefully decorated and brilliantly equipped. The pool was lovely too and just perfect for a young child. Heather and her parents were great hosts providing excellent customer service and advice about the local region and the island. Heather had even made sure that we had plenty of food in the fridge on our arrival on the Saturday evening, and had a meal ready for us cooking in the oven! We have never come across service like it in the years we have stayed in self catered accommodation on holiday. The fresh flowers in the kitchen and bathrooms was also a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend the cottage to friends and relatives looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday base in a lovely part of the island, which provides good accessibility to many different attractions including the local beach and Levada walks, not to mention Funchal which isn't far away.

A Special Place

My wife and I stayed for 14 nights at this holiday villa in May/June (for our honeymoon) The cleanliness and standard of the accommodation was exceptional, everything you could ever want. The views were spectacular. The owners were attentive without being intrusive and we were made to feel very special. Maderia is a really beautiful place, the weather was mixed but we had planety of sun. The Maderian people were warm and friendly. When driving sometime the minor roads were challenging! Overall one of the best places we have ever stayed or visited.

Holiday at Rosemary Cottage

This is our 2nd holiday at Banda Do Sol, this time staying in the 1 bedroom Rosemary Cottage. It was immaculately presented spotless clean & all furnishings colour co-ordinated. All towels being supplied ( Beach ,Pool & bathroom) which is great as it keeps the luggage weight down. A Welcome pack was awaiting us, which was greatly appreciated. All possible kitchen utensils were provided ( and more).Lounge very comfortable & included a flat screen t.v..As the weather was so good ( 14 days of sun ) a lot of time was spent in the pool & seating area. Also provided were plastic wine glasses & tumblers for use in this area. Hosts Heather , Ken, & Fay are second to none, a warm welcome as soon as we arrived , nothing was to much trouble for them. very attentive but not overpowering. Launderette facilities were a godsend. Having visited Madeira for the last 10 years, this has been the most relaxing & enjoyable time . Wonderful accommodation at Banda do Sol!

This house is perfect for a self-catering getaway. It was our first time on Madeira, and we booked Rosemary Cottage for one week. The cottage is absolutely immaculate, and has just about everything one could ask for. The views are superb; breakfasting and dining on our terrace overlooking the swimming pool was wonderful and felt completely private. We shopped for groceries in Calheta and, for the most part, cooked our own meals. However the seafood restaurant in Madeleine do Mar - recommended by our hosts - was an absolute treat; full of local flavour. Madeira is a gorgeous island, with scenery to die for. We very much enjoyed walking some of the levadas, and thoroughly enjoyed meeting other tourists doing the same thing. We were also more than happy to just relax in our ‘home from home’ cottage and enjoy its comforts. We would definitely recommend this accommodation to anybody looking for a fantastic getaway at a reasonable price. Heather and her parents couldn't have been nicer or more obliging. We can’t wait to return!

WOW JUST PERFECT

I stayed in Lavender Cottage with my husband and two young children age 4 and 5, for 9 days in early November 2010. The Cottage is just lovely, very clean and has a great homely feel and all the little touches were hugely appreciated - a freshly picked rose in the bathroom and not to mention the lovely sumptious bed linen. The Kitchen is really well equipped, and you are even provided with brai/barbecue materials. The pool area is great with good sunloungers and chairs. Heather and her family were just lovely, very helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed exploring Madeira, the whole island is easily reachable. We particularly enjoyed Curral das Freiras, Camara de Lobos, and the cable cars at Rancho and Achadas da Cruz. Our favourite restaurants were Precipio just outside Paul do Mar, and the restaurant beside the fountains in Camara de Lobos. There is also a great pizza place eat in and takeaway in Prazares. The nearby town of Calheta has two great beaches and is perfect for a sea swim. Also great for stocking up on supplies. Would highly recommend to all, and yes we have already reserved our next holiday here!

exelent in every aspect!!!

the holidays were very nice,the wheater was excelent. the kids loved it and were busy on the swimming pool all day long!!! the house is very well built and very pleasent as well. you have everything you need and Heather and her father are excelent people and will help you if you need anything. hope to get back soon.
