It was a perfect location for what we wanted to do. Mostly beaches, lighthouses, eating and visiting our son at a campground.. BBQs and live music at Dixon's campground with our kids
The Gulls Nest was exactly as described. One suggestion there should be an air conditioner in the bedroom or a larger one in the main living area. Also some curtains on the windows so the air conditioning is not fighting the sun so much. The pool was great and the people friendly.
It was an amazing experience everything was as it was presented . I donât travel much so I worry about getting scammed but this was definitely the best and the hosts were very helpful and quick to respond Gregg and Cheryl were great. Thank you for putting my trust back in humanity. Will definitely be back again
What a cute little place to stay! Super clean, nice kitchen, wonderful hosts. Quiet area even though you're close to Rte 1. Everything you need is within walking distance. Can't wait to go back next year!
I love this super cute property. Recently and beautifully updated, all incidentals included - super thoughtful hosts! Permanent residents are friendly. The location is perfect, Wells Beach is a 3 min drive, Ogunquit - 10 mins, York Beach - 15 Mins, Nubble Light House/Cape Neddick - 15 mins, Perkins Cove - 15 Mins, Kittery - 25 Mins, Old Orchard Beach/Saco - 25 Mins, Portland - 35 Mins. We popped into New Hampshire twice - only 25-30 mins away. There is plenty to do; all in close proximity to this property and I love bringing my children here to experience the Maine I've grown up with. We'll be back!
I used this property as a home base while attending a class up in the area. It was just me so there was plenty of space. The space was clean and well kept. It is above the camp ground bathrooms and showers which I didnât realize. However, the whole campground is all more permanent sites that have their own facilities. In the 3 nights I was there, no one used the common ones below me. It served as a nice quiet retreat in my office time.
Wells Beach is about a little if a mile from this property and is easily accessible from here. Thank you for a good stay!
Nice place in a location convenient to Wells Beach and short drive to Kennebunkport and Ogonquit. Very nice for my wife and I for our 40th anniversary mini vacation.
Host respond quickly to messages. Likable manager, always avaible. Site clean. Pool, fireplace & outdoor games. Small quiet site. Great spot. Short bike ride to the beach. Groceries 2 min walk. Really affordable.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. Communication w/ the owners was easier and they were responsive. The property was in a gated community, clean and safe. They covered all the necessities and more, multiple streaming sites on the tv. Close to local beaches, shops, and restaurants yet quiet. We went hiking as there are many nearby trails, visited a few shops, ate out, and enjoyed our quiet time. Thank you for sharing your place with us!!
Thanks so much for the use of your property. The gate and door code process made access to the property easy. Well appointed and yes the property even had a lobster pot. A must have.
I was looking for a spot in the NH and Maine area for a short vacation. The Gulls Nest was perfect. Wells is about 30 miles from Portland and about 15 from Portsmouth, so perfectly situated. Very clean and has all the amenities.
Super cute property! Clean, recently updated, spacious enough for a family of 4 or two couples. They thought of all the incidentals - Iron/ironing board, grill utensils for the grill, hairdryer in the bathroom, baking dishes, coffee filters for the coffee pot - just a really thoughtfully maintained place in a quiet location that is close to very popular destinations. We loved taking my children to experience all the places of my childhood vacations! York Beaches, Ogunquit, Perkins Cove, Kittery, Old Orchard Beach, and of course, Wells and Moody Beaches... We hope to make this an annual trip.
This place is a gem! The owners are amazing and we absolutely loved every minute!
This was our second stay and we love it here - clean, comfortable, roomy, full kitchen. Quiet. Quick drive to the beach. Felt like an old friend the second time around.
I grew up here in Wells from the age of 10 and still reside here. I left Maine for New Hampshire after graduating from St. Anselm College and had a 7 year career in Law Enforcement, though only living outside of Wells for three years. I have been in the hospitality business with my family as a child and right up to today.
This property has been in our family since 1976. I was raised in the hospitality business and have been involved in the local tourist trade most of my life. I grew up on the Webhannet River that lies about 75 yards to the south of the cottage and caught many a brook trout there and have numerous fond memories of growing up in this beach community.
I have spent several years myself living in this cottage and enjoyed the quiet and the occasional sightings of deer, turkey, partridge, pheasant, fox, coyotes and even a moose one time that stumbled up from the salt marsh on the east side of US 1. This place offers the best of so many worlds and your world is determined by which way you choose to walk from the front yard.
