There is huge walk in shower ( towels and linens provided ) , satellite TV and Wi-Fi , private pool ( not heated during winter months ) , laundry access , furnished with Copenhagen queen storage bed , chairs and dinette surrounded by a private walled in back yard .

Located in the historic Sam Hughes neighborhood 1 mile east of the University of Arizona . Walking distance to Himmel Park , Walgreen's , Starbucks , The Loft ( movie theater ) , Whole Foods Market , The Rum Runner / Dish , several fast casual restaurants , Circle K , sports bars , yoga studio , public transportation , etc.

Great guest house in Sam Hughes

We truly enjoyed our stay with John and Chloie. John made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay in his guest house and Chloie added her special charm to make it complete! The location in Sam Hughes was perfect for everything we needed to do during our stay. We were within walking distance of the park, library, lots of restaurants and the grocery store. We couldn't have been more pleased!

Ours was a wonderful stay in John's casita in every respect. It is obvious he cares deeply about his guest's comfort, safety, and experience. He is detail-oriented and it shows in how he has outfitted the property. We lacked for nothing while there and would stay there again.

I couldn’t ask for a better host. John could not be more helpful if I needed anything at all and as a long time resident shared his knowledge of the area shops and restaurants. Very quiet and secure location close to anything you might want. I will return!

Best vacation ever

We have stayed here for the past 5 years.Always a wonderful experience.John could not be more helpful. And Chloe has become just like part of our family. Always coming in with a happy step and wagging tail. We would never go any where else when vacationing in Tucson. Perfect location, great pool and patio, great large shower, terrific house just the perfect size. You would be foolish to rent another vrbo in Tucson

Report #2012078542 | Official website of the City of Tucson Narrative/Witness Statement RENTED A UNIT @ 3014 E 1ST ST F 11/22-1/16 FOR TEMP LODGING DURING CANCER TREATMENTS. 55 DAYS PREPAID THROUGH VRBO TO OWNER JOHN GOORDMAN. PREVIOUS TENANT LEFT GOORDMANS HOME W/ HELP FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT. GOORDMAN WAS INTRUSIVE, HARASSED US SEVERAL TIMES/DAY TO ENFORCE HOUSE RULES OR TO HELP. HE WANTED IMMEDIATE ACCESS FOR UNNECESSARY REASONS; MONITORED US 24 HRS W/MOTION DETECTORS; STARED IN OUR WINDOWS DAY AND NIGHT, WAVING FROM HIS COUCH IN HIS PJS; INSISTED WE KEEP SIDE GATE LOCKED, IMPOSSIBLE TO ENTER OR EXIT ALONE; INSISTED FLOOD LIGHTS STAY ON; INSISTED WE SET OUR TRASH ASIDE SO HE COULD SORT THROUGH IT. HE WAS VOLATILE, ESPECIALLY WHEN IGNORED. 11/29 I EMAILED GOORMAN, TELLING HIM TO RESPECT OUR PRIVACY. HE RESPONDED THAT HE WASNT SURE WHAT THAT MEANT. 11/30 A MISUNDERSTANDING RE: TRASH PUT ME IN IMMEDIATE DANGER. I PUT THE TRASH BAG ON THE GROUND, THEN WENT IN TO ASK MY HUSBAND WHERE IT WENT. GOORDMAN CAME OUT, PACED, MOVED TRASH, SLAMMED DOOR. ONCE HE WAS INSIDE, I WENT OUT TO PUT IT IN THE RIGHT PLACE. HE SAW ME ALONE, CAME OUTSIDE YELLING. I IGNORED HIM, TRYING TO UNLOCK THE SHED W/OUT INCIDENT. HE YELLED AGAIN, I WAS QUIET. HE CHARGED TOWARD ME, SHOUTING AT FULL VOLUME W/RED FACE, PULSING VEINS, FINGER POINTED @ MY FACE, HEY! IM ASKING YOU A QUESTION! I SAID, PUT IT IN WRITING, HE GOT LOUDER, I YELLED, PUT IT IN WRITING! 3 MORE TIMES, RUNNING BACK INSIDE TO ESCAPE. MY HUSBAND SPOKE WITH HIM, GOORDMAN SAID I WAS TRYING TO KILL HIS DOG. 12/1 I TOLD HIM THERE WOULD BE NO MORE PERSONAL CONTACT. HE SAID HED CONTACT ME HOWEVER HE LIKES. 12/2 MY HUSBAND AND GOORDMAN AGREED TO A CANCELLATION. 12/3 I INFORMED GOORDMAN WE WERE LEAVING, THERE WAS NO NEED TO CONTACT US AGAIN. HE CONTINUED THE TEXTS, EMAIL, VRBO MESSAGES. I TEXTED IF YOU CONTINUE TO CONTACT ME, ILL BE FORCED TO CONTACT LAW ENFORCEMENT 12/3-12/6 HE CONTINUES THE HARASSMENT SEVERAL TIMES A DAY VIA TEXT, EMAILS VRBO MESSAGES. I JUST WANT HIM TO LEAVE ME ALONE.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY

I booked this property for approximately 3 months for work. Worst experience I ever had. The pillows/mattress pad were dirty and stained. I had to replace them. Not enough lighting in the bathroom, not enough hot water to complete a shower, bugs and roaches in the bathroom, shower "curtain" that was old and stained. The owner was always trying to enter under the guise of maintenance. He would pound on my door in the morning demanding that I let him in to wash the shower curtain. A couple of times after entering he left his beer cans inside the studio. He and his girlfriend would sit right in front of my door smoking cigarettes and drinking beer. At night, you could clearly see through the window blind into the studio apartment. I had to cover it with a sheet. After dark, there was inadequate lighting. You had to walk through a pitch black carport, then wave your arms to activate the security lights , then fumble with the key to unlock the gate to the backyard where the studio was located. The property owner was inappropriate, calling me some disgusting names. As I said, stay away. I'd hate for anyone else to experience this horror. I cut short my stay there.

Perfect Weekend

We planned a trip to Tucson to visit our son who is a student at U of A. We were looking for a place not far from campus and this place didn’t disappoint. The property was a 10 minute Uber ride from campus. John, the owner was great and his dog Chloe was great too. The rental unit was perfect for us with plenty of space We didn’t use the pool in the backyard, but I’m sure it would be nice on a hot summer day. We will definitely stay here again if available.

Perfect long weekend getaway

The guest house was clean and very well equipped with everything a traveler could need. The location is walking distance to plenty of eateries and stores and a quick drive to the U of A. John was a wonderful, generous host and there was excellent communication during my stay. I fell in love with his dog Chloe! I will definitely stay here again! Thank you John and please give Chloe a huge hug for me! :)

Efficient - Economical Property - Close to Everything

We would have enjoyed our stay much more if we hadn't got sick! This place pretty much has what you need. We seemed to have plenty of room. The bed was very comfortable for us. The property is secure and well cared for with a wall around it. The pool is not heated so if you are there in the winter months the water temperature is in the 50's. Very friendly dog that will greet you each day.

Fabulous Tucson stay!

This place was exactly what we needed at a price we could afford. It has a comfortable bed, walk-in shower, armoire, good sized tv, everything a person needs in the kitchen, and the most lovable lab you’ll ever meet. It’s in a good location, close to everything and on a quiet street. John, the owner, couldn’t have been more accommodating. We were lamenting that we couldn’t get a football game we wanted to watch even though there are about 150 stations, so he immediately called and added the sports station! He checked on us daily to see if we needed anything (through short text). Chloe the lab helped us not miss our lab so much. We plan to return and stay here again. Maybe when it’s a little warmer so we can go in the inviting pool. Thanks John and Chloe for making our stay so wonderful!

John is an amazing host. He made sure I had everything I needed. The place is quiet, clean and comfortable. I was visiting for a month. This was a perfect place to come back to after a long day at work.

Pictures don’t do it justice! It’s much larger than it looks. Beautiful property and safe area. John the owner, is a friendly and very kind man and really makes you feel at home. Would definitely stay there again when I’m in town. And I can’t forget about Chloe, Johns dog. Friendly, obedient cuddly fur baby! She really made our stay special. Great Stay With John & Chloe

I just spent the last 5 days in John's wonderful space and could not have been happier with the location, cleanliness, comfort and companionship. John is very helpful with any requests you have but gives you all the privacy you require. The space is separate from his home and is the perfect size for 1-2 people looking to visit Tucson. As a separate space, it is extremely quiet, which is important to me as a lite sleeper. Everything in the space from coffee maker, to WiFI, to bed comfort was perfect for me. There is a good sized washer / dryer on site and a safe place to park your car if you need, both of which I utilized. So many people have commented in their reviews about Chloe, John's wonderful rescue dog who is in training to be a therapy dog. This is one of the friendliest, most comforting dogs I have ever encountered and was an extra bonus to choosing this space. As you can tell, my stay with John & Chloe was wonderful and if I am ever coming through Tucson again, I will look to book here first for sure. Thank you John & Chloe, all the best to both of you. We have stayed with John’s several times as it’s close to our son’s home and our grandchildren. John is the perfect host and there is always a friendly welcome from Chloe, his lovely dog. The area is close to Himmel Park, shops and amenities with good bus connections to downtown Tucson and local attractions. John’s place has everything we need for a relaxing and carefree holiday He is so helpful and kind that we hope to spend many more visits here. It’s the perfect retreat from the demands of babysitting our three grandkids.
